When generosity begets evil:
2 years ago, I made a donation to AdBlockPlus, using a Barclay card.
A year ago, CitiBank “bought” that card and issued me a new card that I didnt want.
I dont like CitiBank, so got a Discover card to use instead. Never activated or used the CitiBank card.
A month ago, AdBlockPlus decided to charge my old Barkclay card number $40.
I called CitiBank days after I saw the charge, told them it was fraudulant billing.
CitiBank just told me that AdBlockPlus says it is a “valid charge” and that AdBlockPlus can bill me as much as they want, whenever they want, because they have the old creditcard information form several years ago.
Seriously, two different CitiBank indian “managers” told me the same thing tonight.
This is wrong on so many levels. Suggestions?
Anyone else seeing unauthorized charges from AdBlockPlus?
