I think that part of why it’s so challenging to get good people on the right to run for office is because they know what scumbags Politicians are and they don’t want people to think that they are one of them- they don’t want to be what they are.
They don’t want to subject themselves and their families to the mudslinging, lies, deceit, corruption, backstabbing and bribery that is so much a part of politics. Mooshell Obamanation used to say, “ When they go low, we go high!” That, to me, was the most ridiculous and disgusting thing that ever came from her big, fat, lying mouth!

We bought a small 1950’s fixer upper in a barely middle class neighborhood, after living in mobile home for several years following my husband’s job in small oil and gas field towns. If you want your children to have what you think boomers started out with, there was a range of starter living standards.
Raise children and grandchildren to be strategic about the degrees or vocational training they study, no “studies” degrees. Don’t raise them to believe they will have everything they want when they start out in life, even with great degrees they will need to work hard. I am disgusted with the younger generations who think their parents or grandparents started out with the living standards they see now. This delusion is a reason we see younger voters going for Communist politicians.
Starting out on your own life with struggles causes most people to learn how to deal with them. As they get older, life can get easier. Today’s young, and it is largely the parents fault, don’t go through the cycle of struggle, learn, overcome.

That’s not true, I’m Gen X and we had a normal life here in America as kids and I’d say that WE were the last generation because all that has followed us has been worse.
I’ve read that Gen X will be the next “Greatest Generation” because we were essentially latch key kids that wound then learning some great skills early in life because we were given a level of freedom to get into a whole lot of mischief, which really is how kids learn.
We had stay home mothers early on but then then the turning point came in our early childhood where women all began to go work- with no organized ‘daycare’ yet in place, most kids were left to fend for themselves- which wound up being a fairly good thing.
How many took off on their bikes and rode off for some 20 miles away to go swimming and didn’t return home for 10 hours Lol !!
I know we grew up in the boonies and took off on wild and huge adventures out there all day long, we were survivors before it was a thing- it started at age 6.
We know how to do anything and have no fear of hard work… we were brainwashed into Bigger is Better and why want a house when you can have a McMansion- and we busted our asses and got them.
I know that a whole lot of bosses right now are quite worried about replacing us all because we’re far better workers than the 30 something behind us.
When my husband moved on from his management position at a large construction company, it took 3 new hires to replace what he was doing and the company was never the same again because they learned three brains don’t exactly work together as his one brain did, this is Gen X- we got it done.

Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough. They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.
The purpose and goals of President Trump are plainly visible by his actions and consistent: He is for the benefit first of the common PEOPLE of this country, then of the PEOPLE in the rest of the world. It is validating, even to our battered conservative skepticism.
The methods of his leadership are amazing. I still don’t get HOW he does it, or HOW he is able to get so much momentum going, but every day the momentum is growing. Everyone and every organization has their eyes opened every day — just by watching him. Even those who hate him, are biased against him, and want to see him gone — cannot ignore him. He lives rent free in their head, and they come around to seeing the universal principles by which he is operating. He hammers actions based on truth from one direction, then another, and they cannot mount an organized opposition against him.
President Trump is transparent in his words and actions. He is consistent in what he says, what he does, and what he asks/demands of others. His promises are bold and he keeps them like no other president has. He continues to make massive, nearly overnight changes, not only in our country, but in the world. It is amazing that he is able to accomplish so much when there are so many snakes in the grass. This second term, he is weeding them out faster and choosing like-minded servants who multiply his effectiveness. No U.S. president has ever faced so much organized resistance and treason than President Trump
He has chosen to use his intellect and every skill he has to do what is right. He has tremendous faith that he can make a difference in this world. He has a confidence and courage such that he doesn’t care what others think, yet a humility to know he has to do it with the help of like minded people. Those people are the “common” people, and he ridicules those who think they are not common. He does not show humility before men, but his actions show humility before God.
He believes people are basically good. He believes that God is real. He believes that healthy people are happy people, and they need to be able to create wealth freely for their labor, and have the freedom to spend their money on what is good for them.
He believes the United States, with its Constitutional Republic, is the best environment in the world to enable and give opportunity for people to be happy and prosperous.
He believes that we can be a light for the world, but we must demand that the rest of the world respect us and our right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
He believes the enemy of our country are the stupid, greedy American people who have been selfishly taking advantage of this country; who betrayed the trust and obedience of its people; and who diverted the people’s wealth for their own selfish gain, at the expense of the principles of this country. He’s not going to allow that anymore. He is not afraid to call out our enemies.
He has cultivated and focused the family of MAGA. Identifying those people whose goodness, industriousness, trust, and obedience have been taken advantage of and abused. He has opened our eyes to this abuse, and to the rights of freedom and self determination that have been quietly stolen from us.
He has rekindled the same healthy distrust held by our founders of government and men with too much power. He has recultivated the desire to reclaim our freedoms and rights, and is empowering us with a hope and pathway to reclaim our spiritual and economic freedom.
He wants the US to be a light of hope on the hill for all people. He will negotiate win/win agreements with those nations and countries who respect us; who respect the principles and intent of our Constitution. If you do not respect us, however, we are not going to let you take advantage of our goodness, or share in our wealth at our expense. If you as a nation are treating your people badly, you are going to be treated less favorably by us, until you show that you value your people as much as we value ours. He believes that nations who treat their people well will also be good economic neighbors with us.
He is convincing those who are very wealthy (most of whom truly earned their money), that the best economic soil in which to build wealth is in a constitutional republic, which supports the ability of the common man to earn wealth in proportion to his efforts. The economic engine of the United States is the human spirit freed to enjoy the fruits of honest labor, and that engine has more natural and raw horsepower than any other governed economy.
The Trump Train seems to be remarkably aligned with universal principles of Truth, which reflect the will and design of our Creator, and are the best standard by which we should live. These same principles were what our country’s founders used to declare independence, and framed into the Constitution of this nation.
Our founders believed that a nation should preserve the right and freedom of an individual to seek, understand, and live by God’s principles. They believed that free individuals working together in humility would make a stronger nation than a government which dictates its will on the people. President Trump professes and seeks to lead and restore this nation back to these same principles.
These principles resonate deeply within all human beings, down to our DNA in every cell, in our spirits, and produce fruit that “miraculously” multiplies. Because we follow universal principles, we see the snowballing acceleration of momentum. Lord please bring your power and might in the daily working of this sacred Nation you gave us.

2 years ago, I made a donation to AdBlockPlus, using a Barclay card.
A year ago, CitiBank “bought” that card and issued me a new card that I didnt want.
I dont like CitiBank, so got a Discover card to use instead. Never activated or used the CitiBank card.
A month ago, AdBlockPlus decided to charge my old Barkclay card number $40.
I called CitiBank days after I saw the charge, told them it was fraudulant billing.
CitiBank just told me that AdBlockPlus says it is a “valid charge” and that AdBlockPlus can bill me as much as they want, whenever they want, because they have the old creditcard information form several years ago.
Seriously, two different CitiBank indian “managers” told me the same thing tonight.

You can find it by searching in the settings > extensions page of your browser. Works with all common browsers but in Chrome you need to use uBlock Origin Lite.
I have used uBlock Origin for maybe 10 years. Windows 11, Firefox browser, it shows right now blocking 68 items on the Treehouse. No special settings, it just works.
I use Linux and Waterfox (telemetry shut off) with privacy badger and three Google blockers.

Sometimes I think anti-virus software causes problems instead of cures. Norton is the worst…even worse than Adblock. I use Bitdefender Free and it seems to work well.
Norton is to be avoided at all costs imho. User surveillance and in-your-face sales offers seem to be the key attributes. Bitdefender is a great choice.
Note that anti-virus and ad-blocker tools do different things, so you need a bit of both to be as safe as realistically possible these days. Use an ad-blocker extension as mentioned above in your browser as well.
Plus general machine clean-up is a good thing to do regularly. CCleaner used to be good until they got bigger and too Norton-like.

You can set up your browser to delete cookies, history, clear cache, every time you close your browser. Doing this gets rid of your trails but also makes websites think your computer is a new device each time you try to log in to something. That is generally good, just a bit inconvenient.
Sounds good but not fully effective. The cookies, history and cache are still accessible in other areas of your OS. You need to clean those out as well with specialized tools such as above.
The closest you can get to anonymity would likely be Mullvad or Brave browser with absolutely no personalization settings added by you, and Proton or similar VPN that you can buy with untraceable Bitcoin etc. And use a Proton Mail anonymous email account for all your logins.
There’s more no doubt, but I’m not a techie. Just a PC wrangler for 44 years. 😉

Delete browsing data directly from the browser toolbar. Clear cookies, history and cache with a single click
It clears all that or you can save some stuff if you want like passwords, but I tend to clear everything between every site.
The trouble with all the ad blockers is a lot of sites won’t give you access unless you disable the add blocker for their site. Not much you can do about if you want to access site or can’t find an alternative site.
What drives me nuts lately is sites that want you to sign up before you can ever access them. Often I only access a site once for information and I am not giving them my information for just that.

I agree it sounds like you inadvertently signed up for an annual subscription.
It used to be you’d need to update a changed card number for any type subscription service. But in a similar situation many years ago, bank explained to me that’s not the case anymore.

That card was never activated yet they tried billing monthly as if the account actually existed. Infuriating. It left a bad enough taste that I remember it today, over a decade later.

Interesting. I’ve also had a C1 card for many years, in the past was more widely accepted than Discover, especially in other countries. The C1 security is tight–a plus. There are several options now for annual fees on C1. You choose your plan. I use rewards for travel. Easy. No issues. Good customer service. It is super easy to talk to a knowledgeable rep. Perhaps call and get some answers regarding your previous unfavorable experience? BTW . . . I felt that way about Discover my first time around with them–canceled and then went back. Good luck! All those CC companies are going to make their money one way or the other.

If you aren’t using the card and don’t want to close the account it’s attached to, put a block on the card. Most banks or card issuers have the option I believe. No charges can be placed on it then, until you unblock it.

I worked 40 years of rotating shifts in power plants and water plants (inside power plants), 24/7 365. Twenty years of 8 hour southern swing shifts, twenty years of 12 hour DuPont shifts. When I was young I had to set an alarm to get up for the next days shift after nights. I often worked 16 hour shifts so you still had to go home, clean up, eat, get up, eat and get back to work in 8 hours.
The last twenty years I had to take a sleeping pill to get any sleep during the day. The last few years it was down to 4 hrs of sleep when sleeping during the day. The last year I had to double the sleeping pill dose and need them on both nights and days to get any sleep. I told my wife it was going to kill me and retired two year early. I know nurses went mostly from rotating forward to rotating backwards to limit mistakes from being overtired, we did not. So it was 40 years of perpetual jet lag for me. You can’t even begin to understand it if you haven’t lived it.
But hey, people want their electricity all day every day.

Some jobs will never change like nursing, policing and utilities as they are needed 24/7 365. When I worked you not only worked your shifts you covered other peoples shifts for sickness, vacation and personal days. You stayed over on 8 hour shifts and worked a 16. On twelves they could also keep you 4 hours over but then had to release you or you would have been working a 36, which is against the law. Days off got canceled to fill in for someone’s vacation.
Shifts were a four person rotation for each job. Now days the utilities have went to having 5 shifts, one week called a relief crew. Once in your rotation you fill in for people sick, personal days or on vacation. If no openings they keep you busy doing things like minor maintenance or writing procedures. I only experienced that the last 4 months of my career.

Government has gotten too Big for it’s Britches.
My oldest son was diagnosed at an early age (he’s 52 now) with autism, mild cerebral palsy and moderate mental retardation. He was nonverbal until 6 when working with a program at UCLA we trained him to give eye contact, imitative skills, and he has a very limited functional vocabulary. He was on no medications. We moved and his behavior changed after we put him on, if I recall, Zoloft in his early 20’s. . He had to be involuntarily committed and when he came out, the psych meds began.
To make a long story short, today he is on the least meds he has been on since that time but the damage has been done–diabetes, stage 2 renal disease, metabolic syndrome, and on and on. The only positive thing I can say is that he has not been re committed. I began listening to Dr. Joseph’s videos a year or so ago and my eyes have been opened. His ‘bipolar’ diagnosis
is one I now doubt. There is no chemical imbalance in the brain… I am working hard to very, very, very gradually decrease his meds one at a time and it is not met with enthusiasm from his psychiatrist who has prescribed these meds and has actually recommended more which I refused.
Hindsight is 20-20 and many have paid the price.
You have always done the best you can and you take good care of your family.

I just went through 2 years with the medical profession, and it was a nightmare. My husband had two cancers and during his treatment it became obvious that they were only interested in managing his decline, prescribing as many drugs as possible, doing test after test and scheduling as many procedures as they could rather than having any positive outcomes.
I cannot imagine the journey you and your family had with those ghouls. You are correct when you say hindsight is 20-20. If we had known how the system worked, we would have done EVERYTHING differently.

Abdul El-Sayed was Vice President, and his wife, Sarah Jukaku, was President of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) together at the University of Michigan.
The MSA is also the fore father of a massive list of Muslim Brotherhood orgs. I’ll explain this more in a bit.

NAIT is one of the largest Muslim funding orgs in America. NAIT holds the title to more than 300 mosques, or approximately 27 percent of the estimated 1,200 mosques in the United States.
Oh but it gets so much better. So MSA was the precursor to the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), right?
Well, El-Sayed’s wife’s father, Tayeb Jukaku, has served on the 20-member founding committee of ISNA since at least 2007. And he has also served in various capacities within CAIR Michigan, including serving as a former President of the Board of Directors for several years. Lastly he was Board of Directors for the Michigan Muslim Community Council.
*So El-Sayed and his wife were both VIP’s at MSA which was a parent to an org that wifeys father was a VIP at (family affair).

As a landscape painter for 30 years I can agree with you, He has a great eye for composition and subject matter. Many of his images would make great paintings if one chose to paint them. I prefer to paint directly from life, No filters other than myself. You must have a good eye as well.

They have been a plague in Texas. We had Arkansas Game & Fish set up a bait trap her in the Ozarks. Caught about 40 pigs in a sounder. Dispatched them. They had been camping out about 50 yards from my back door. They are gone now, but we keep a diligent eye out. A sounder is a group of sows and piglets. Males are solitary or form smaller groups.

A year or so ago I tossed a new book by one of my favorite authors – David Baldacci – within minutes of starting to read it. The storyline was set in the old south. A white lawyer was defending a black man within the larger issue of black-white relationships. After just three pages it became obvious that the word “black” was going to be capitalized every time – no matter the context – while the word “white” was not. Aside from the incongruity of seeing it in print, the notion that somehow blacks deserved their immutable physical condition of skin color being capitalized was jarring and disgusting. It was very upsetting because just a few years ago I read one of his books – Wish You Well – that I would put in my top 3 all-time favorites. Sad to say that I will probably not pick up another of his works.
No. None of the colors should be capitalized unless you start using Yellows, Reds, and Pinkies. It utterly ridiculous to see a form where they ask you to check your race. Your options are Black, Brown, Hispanic, Asian, other, but not capitalized, and “choose not to answer”, also not capitalized. What is “other”? Is that Obama or Kamala? Why don’t they have a “I don’t know” check box?
The only reason they collect this is to discriminate. I urge everyone to stop going along and urge you representatives to pass legislation making it illegal to even ask.

It’s not as bad as it is being portrayed according to what I read. The airport is putting them in to prevent accidents in their bathrooms. Since it is an international airport they get plenty of Muslim travelers through there. These washing stations will supposedly prevent overflowing sinks and water damage from their use as foot washing areas. Anyone can use them. It’s like putting in urinals. Everyone could use toilets but it’s much cleaner if men use urinals. This one doesn’t outrage me because it has a real reason behind it that doesn’t involve catering to Muslims just because they’re Muslim.

I have read the Sharia way of avoiding interest is the interest is determined then that amount is just added to the total. For instance a car, if paper work says, over the life of the loan, you will pay $6,000 in interest. That phrase never shows up on paperwork. The total cost of the car is just X + $6,000.
I don’t think it works that way. The price of the car would have to be X+6000 on the sticker and everybody pays it in order to subsidize those who finance. If that 6000 is just added, I would only pay cost of car divided by the term. And if the finance bank takes issue I would demand to know what that extra six grand is. They can’t admit it’s interest.
