Former Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, gives a speech outlining the mechanics of the Deep State and how they people within it operate.
At around 3:30 of the presentation, Gabbard gives a specific example of the attitude of the employees on assignment to the ODNI. Obviously, I am not certain, but Tulsi seems to be describing the FBI liaison desk within the DNI as she explains how this federal government employee refuses to participate in the DNI request. I find it hard to believe that much of our government bureaucracy is doing as Tulsi described of their own volition. The story about the guy who locked the report in his desk until his boss told him to give it to Tulsi as example. Isn’t Tulsi his boss?! Who are these people taking orders from really? Do we really have tens of thousands of bureaucrats in DC who are stonewalling and subverting? Are they all brainwashed believing all of the rhetoric about President Trump? Are they communists? Why are they untouchable?

Everybody needs a multiplicity of “consultants” and “contractors” to actually perform an action called for in a bureaucratic policy. They mostly help make, publish, evaluate and “administer” contracts to those who actually open an envelope, check to see if certain boxes are checked and summarize results, per the contract. Elon Musk losing his shit while involved with DOGE was not a surprise at all. Governance is nearing insanity based on cost of function.
They become untouchable by rank protecting rank, union rules and procedures that are even more tangled and bureaucratic than than federal rules and procedures, inter-Agency envy and one-up-man-ship, Congressional interference and the power of having contributed money to someone that will come Bull-dozing in! As for Trump, they think the MidTerms will put him into the Impeachment Box once again and they can get back to “normal” once again following their agenda!

I expected to hear a lot of applause after some of the patriotic and soul stirring things she said. What is wrong with so many of those people who are listening to her? She is a brave women with a huge amount of intelligence and self control!!

The attitude she describes has severely affected every level of government in the country. I speak from personal experience. I estimate that at least 80% of bureaucrats in local, state, and federal government are infected with this attitude: they are better, smarter, know better, prettier, whatever, than us Deplorables. If they don’t want to do something, they don’t do it or find every excuse imaginable for why it isn’t done. They look down on everyone outside government. I firmly believe there should be no career government employees. Most would never last a week in the private sector. Thank God I’m retired.
