There is an old saying that I haven’t heard for some years that goes, “President’s come and go, but bureaucracy is forever.”
This branch got it’s start with the Pendleton Civil Service Reform Act of 1883 designed with the noble idea to replace the spoils system and create a merit based system; sounds good, but eventually the merit ended up being the ability to push the progressive agenda, and noble ideas always morph into linguistic fig leaves to further leftists power grabs.
Woodrow Wilson in his 1887 article Study of Administration, argued for a politics-administration dichotomy, which leaned heavily on Hegel’s (that guy again?) public administration theory. He thought that American government was growing too big to be guided completely by the Constitution, and posited that it would be better if policy was decided by politicians, but be administered by experts without partisan meddling.
He then began to meddle partisanly when he became President, and set the basic structure in place, especially during WWI, that remains to this day. FDR turbocharged it with the implementation of the New Deal, doubling the number of federal employees from 500,000 in 1933 to a million by 1939, and peaking at 3.5 million in 1945. Since the late 60s it has had a baseline of approximately 2.8 million.
Unionization began in 1912, but it was EO 10988 signed by JFK that gave them the right to bargain collectively, and the yard sale buy up of bureaucrats begun in 1933, became the industrial Costco system purchase by Dems. Dems bargaining for the American people-wink, wink–would give the benefits and pay raises, unions in turn would kickback the money for their campaigns, and that’s how you end up today with DC going 90% for Kamala; but don’t worry, those 2.8 million federal employees are professionals and would never let partisan bias affect their duties, like actively fighting Trump’s policies for example.

The attitude she describes has severely affected every level of government in the country. I speak from personal experience. I estimate that at least 80% of bureaucrats in local, state, and federal government are infected with this attitude: they are better, smarter, know better, prettier, whatever, than us Deplorables. Interesting that Jack Smith went on MSNOW for an interview today. He said he requested it with Nicole Wallace. What were his topics? Well, he is distressed about how the rule of law is being applied. But curiously, he made the exact opposite observation that former DNI Gabbard made. He tries to make the case for these ever so noble but underrated–sarcasm intended– career prosecutors and the many bureaucrats, administrators and officials that inhabit the deep state. Tulsi Gabbard, and rightly so, made the case for the danger they pose by putting themselves above the Constitution. In fact she tells the almost humorous story of one of these bureaucrats locking away the papers that she needed to take to the President. I’m sure Jack Smith would find a way to defend that. lol

I find it extremely “convenient” that Tulsi’s husband was diagnosed with a serious medical condition and illness — resulting in her resignation.
I don’t put ANYTHING past the GloboHomo Deep State (at least they haven’t tried to assassinate her … yet).
The way Tulsi Gabbard explained how the deep staters *shape* information for how they want the president to think is very disturbing. That is treasonous!!

Every single member of the federal government’s national security apparatus, regardless of whether they wear a uniform or not, needs to be brought under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ.)
That would include all of the Department of War and military branches, all the intelligence agencies, the national security division parts of the State Department, all pieces of the FBI involved in counter-intel, counter-terrorism, cyber etc., all parts of Dept Homeland Security involved with national security, counter-terrorism, cyber security etc., the Secret Service, parts of Department of Energy involved with nuclear weapons, and any other tentacles that touch national security, intelligence ops, cyber-security, geo-spatial intel, etc. etc. etc.
All of them play roles regarding the nation’s security and protecting vital national interests.
Matters such as insubordination, mutiny, malingering, espionage, “leakage” of classified information, or just corruption and self-dealing can all cost lives – real flesh and blood, living, breathing, somebody’s kid’s lives.
If they want to work in those kinds of positions they need to bear the responsibility that comes with it and face harsh consequences if they won’t live up to their responsibilities. They can’t be allowed to just quietly retire or quit or transfer laterally into some other agency. If they are undermining the administration they are undermining the Constitution and they need to pay a savage price.
If they don’t want that level of responsibility they can work elsewhere.
It’s just too important.
