President Trump suggested he planned to nominate Blanche in an interview with the New York Post’s Miranda Devine on Tuesday, saying “I think he will” be the permanent attorney general. The president added that he didn’t have any other candidates in mind for the role. “We put him as acting, and he’s done a very good job,” Mr. Trump said.

He’s been, by far, the best AG Trump has had. If he does nothing from here on out, that will likely still be the case though, because the bar is actually just that low.

I wonder about the wisdom of the timing. Would after November be better? Still within the 7 month timeline.
I do hope the Senate confirms him. They are blue blazes bent on stopping anything President Trump wants right now. I can see swapping Pulte DNI for confirmation of Blanche as AG.
I was thinking the Pulte as Acting DNI move might be designed to light a fire under the Senate to start approving less controversial nominees.
No compromise. President Trump gets exactly who he wants, or he keeps on swapping in and out “acting” directors until 1/20/29. No deals. Screw this corrupt Uniparty Senate.
Blanche needs 50 votes plus Vance as a tie-breaker. The problem may come from sore losers like Cornyn and Cassidy, or someone like Tillis, who probably would have been a sore loser if he’d run again and been primaried.
Fetterman might break ranks and vote for Blanche.
Tillis IS a sore loser. He didn’t run because he was going to lose if he did. We should assume he’ll do as much harm as possible to Trump between now and January, including voting against every Trump nominee.
RINOs in reserve: Collins. Murkoski. Paul. McConnell.
True, they’re RINOs, but they usually come up with some rationalization for their vote.
I hope Trump emphasizes what a fantastic job the DOJ has done in indicting fraudsters, and how much of the taxpayers’ money will be saved in the future, and how Blanche needs to continue the work he’s in the middle of and not have to hand it over to someone with a learning curve.
