President Trump suggested he planned to nominate Blanche in an interview with the New York Post’s Miranda Devine on Tuesday, saying “I think he will” be the permanent attorney general. The president added that he didn’t have any other candidates in mind for the role. “We put him as acting, and he’s done a very good job,” Mr. Trump said.

The People let our Presidents act as elected monarchs. The People voted to make the Senate accountable to foreign interests, instead of the States. The People still seem to think power should lie in the Presidency instead of themselves and their States.
The Senate was intended to represent the States. The House to represent the people. The Executive Branch was never intended to have the power of a monarchy as it does today. There was never a power to “recall” a Senator. But the State of South Dakota would have party politics through its legislature determine its nominees and final election.

Seems like more of a talker than a doer. Proof is always in the prosecutions. His odds of getting justice for the nation are about 30%, in my view.

The AG is the face of the DOJ, and is the one that does the most talking. Yeah, that’s all that Bondi did on Fox, but it doesn’t mean that his assistants in DC as well as US Attorneys around the country aren’t busy pursuing individual defendants, holding grand juries, acquiring evidence, etc. When we hear of an indictment being announce, there were likely months on confidential investigaions, including grand juries, before the public indictment.

Can Trumps picks just be put in number two spots with and a revolving acting/caretaker put in the “actual” position? The number two does all the real work and “actual” one does the ceremonial work. That seems like the only solution at this point.

So how does this work? If Trump nominates him for the permanent US AG position requiring confirmation and he is not confirmed, can Trump just reappoint him to Acting US attorney general and restart the time clock on how long he can hold the position?

I think it’s 210 days with no option of re-appointing. If there was such an option, then a president could continue re-appointing the acting AG and avoid a confirmation firght.

If I remember correctly, Sundance gave Todd Blanche high marks when nominated for DAG. Well done President Trump. Since Blanche was confirmed by the Senate as DAG, does that mean he doesn’t have to go through the process again? If so, I have to wonder if this was PDJT’s plan all along…..
I was originally expecting Trump to nominate former Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey to be Attorney General, since I doubt Todd Blanche would be successfully confirmed under the current GOP Senate due to some sore losers who lost their primaries.
