Two years after the Russia-Ukraine war began, people kept wondering why I continued to ask why no western media were boots on the ground in Ukraine delivering news of the conflict. I called it “world war reddit” for a reason. That question loomed even bigger given the relentless on-the-ground reporting over the U.S-Iran conflict.
Why were/are international journalists almost immediately embedded in Iran to cover the details of the conflict, yet that same approach never took place in Ukraine.
For Ukraine there was no daily reports on the fighting; no frontline reports with journalists in helmets and flak jackets; no live interviews or reports of the back-and-forth battles between Russia and Ukraine; no ‘coming to you live from Kiev‘ tonight, nothing. However, as soon as military conflict breaks out in Iran – all the familiar war/conflict reporting surfaced again.
But I see the Ukraine war reported on Telegram, some say. True, but really?
What you “see” is through a social media prism that is structurally controlled by Western intelligence operations. World War Reddit!
For additional context, when the U.S. went to war in Iraq/Afghanistan, how did it impact your daily life? That’s analogous the same impact within Russia that I experienced in 2024 (3 months) and 2025 (1 month). All recognizable impact is sanctions related.
One of the reasons I traveled from Western Russia to Poland -specifically driving across Ukraine- was to see for myself. I shared that story before.
The reality of the Ukraine conflict, World War Reddit, is entirely against the interests of those who are constructing the false impression of it.
In reality the Eastern Donbas region is very pro-Russian and when the Russian Federation took over towns and geography, driving back the Ukraine military, Russian troops were factually greeted as liberators. Now, there is a slow-grinding stalemate, and the losses on the Ukraine side are well beyond what has been reported by government officials.
I provide this context of reality -vs- media presentation because Iranian Prince Reza Pahlavi is strongly calling attention to the bias and willful blindness of European media. WATCH:

I don’t know if this guy is the right one to lead the charge to bring a more politically democratic outcome for the people in Iran, but what he is saying about the willful blindness of western media is absolutely correct.
Reza Pahlavi learned the same lesson María Machado learned a while ago, the same lesson Israelis learned after 10/7, the same lesson white Afrikaner farmers targeted for extermination by the ANC learned years ago: the western media has no interest in actually covering the news. I knew someone who was star struck she was friend with a “journalist” who regularly interviewed and saw Trudeau (Gov of Canada). This “journalists” have their own following of lemmings, so their feel of self-importance in their narcissistic world goes beyond anything they could’ve done otherwise by actually being independent and actually fighting for the truth.
In time those “journalists” even begin to believe their own lies and bluster… they live in a bubble so strong and averse to reality they cannot even acknowledge it.
And that person I knew… she was ready to believe anything and say anything to be “seen” by that “journalist”..
In the end, it’s those who control the media that find people of liquid mind sets ready to do their bidding… the “journalists” are water under the bridge. If not there, they would be nobodies, and others would be just as eager to take their spots.

The sole purpose of traditional media is not to inform but to influence (has it ever not been thus?). In my opinion, the Framers biggest error was failing to create checks and balances for the news industry.
All entertainment in whatever form is provided simply to placate viewers into being sufficiently distracted that they do not even realize they are being manipulated into inaction and apathy. That includes all the highly worshipped sports events, favorite soaps, game shows and yes, even “the eleven o’clock news.”
Most people who are hooked on TV will argue more vehemently about their favorite soap opera than who should be the next president, who they know less about than the characters playing a fictional role in a TV show.
America would be greater quicker if everyone just completely stopped watching TV.

Perfect. When I was a little eight year-old Cub Scout a kid cast his fishing pole backwards and took out my right eye. With that when I watch TV, I can see clearance day when the insect photos or camera shots on top of others. I’m sure it’s got something to do with depth perception of the one eye. They do this all the time I do believe they were able to do this way back in the 50s. It just didn’t tell us. Now they were claiming AI and all that stuff people be aware. Tousi TV noted repeatedly of the complete lack of fear in the general population, to the extent that they were holding nightly gatherings on rooftops and balconies to watch and cheer on the destruction of their oppressors. Trump has said he did not think that a person who has been away from Iran and a leadership role would be a good person to lead the country. I don’t know how to read that statement. Maybe it’s simply the way Trump feels. Maybe Trump has more information about Reza Pahlavi than we do, leading him to think Pahlavi would not be a great leader for Iran.
Trump has also wanted to do as little regime change as possible, which I think is why he has been focusing on people who are already in the government.
However, the people in the Iranian government are not moderates. There is no moderate in the government. All have the same goal, to get rid of the US and Israel, and to be in charge of the whole Middle East. They all believe in a medieval form of Islam and are awaiting the return of the Mahdi. They believe it is the sacred duty of all Muslims to kill the infidel even if they die in the process. It makes no sense for the US to go this far to rid Iran of nuclear weapons and missiles and then put in place a leader who will lead Iran just like the Ayatollahs did.
That said, I think Trump knows far more about all this than I do, and so I could be wrong.

The war in Ukraine is most emphatically, not a stalemate. The Russians are slowly, systematically, taking over more and more territory. In a stalemate, nobody can move the line: for example, the last year of the war in Korea.
