Trump Authorized Covert CIA Action In Venezuela, NYT Reports
President Donald Trump “secretly authorized the C.I.A. to conduct covert action in Venezuela,” reported the New York Times on Wednesday, citing U.S. officials.
The report by Julian E. Barnes and Tyler Pager called the authorization the “latest step in the Trump administration’s intensifying pressure campaign against Venezuela” and its authoritarian leader, Nicolás Maduro. The Trump administration has been targeting alleged drug smuggling boats coming from the country, using deadly military force to stop them from coming to the United States.
The administration has also stood in solidarity with the opposition in Venezuela and publicly accused Maduro of rigging the last election in the country, a claim widely agreed upon by the international community.
“One year since dictator Nicolás Maduro defied the will of the Venezuelan people by baselessly declaring himself the winner, the United States remains firm in its unwavering support to Venezuela’s restoration of democratic order and justice. Maduro is not the President of Venezuela and his regime is not the legitimate government,” wrote the State Department in a statement in July
The Times report detailed what the authorization allows the CIA to do exactly: “The new authority would allow the C.I.A. to carry out lethal operations in Venezuela and conduct a range of operations in the Caribbean.” The Times added.

Ah yes…arrests. And not just security ones either.
But tariffs have been mentioned. Much has been collected which can be used for the purpose. But all depends now on how the SC rules on whether President Trump acted constitutionally in imposing them. Arguments on November 5, then the wait for a ruling who knows when.
So he can’t take the chance on a victory and pay the military with those because the SC could easily rule against him. At which time all the money collected would have to be returned.
I’m sure extraordinary efforts are being made right now to find what is needed elsewhere. But if it can’t be, the only wealthy donor I can think of with deep enough pockets is Elon.
Seeing what is going on in the country, RFK Jr. should commission a study to determine if there is a real woke mind virus infecting people. Seems as logical a conclusion that I can come up with.

It makes a lot of sense, but these farmers need to experience maximum pain. Zero sympathy for them or their fanilies.
Because young people don’t want to work on farms the farmers should be punished? I spoke with a dairy farmer recently from rural MN who said they do not get Americans wanting to do farm work. There are a few locals but many of the historical farm workers just aren’t interested.
I mentioned that as a teenager many of the towny young worked on the local farms. I did a little of everything. The dairy farmer said all young people want to do today is play games on computers or go to the city thinking they will get rich.
Our immigration system has allowed for temporary worker status for a long time. We need to focus the pain and lack of sympathy for those who allowed in all the illegal workers, rather than farmers who don’t have many choices.
