U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet today in Anchorage, Alaska for a peace summit to discuss parameters for a ceasefire in Ukraine. The entire world is watching closely.
Anchorage, Alaska is four hours behind the Eastern time zone. The venue is Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson near Anchorage. Use this discussion thread for anything related to the day’s events, specific as they relate to the summit.
President Trump will depart the White House early morning ET. Trump is expected in Anchorage mid-afternoon Eastern time, Friday. The initial meeting with Putin is expected to take place at 3:30 pm ET (11:30 am local) with just the two leaders and translators.

Late-breaking reports from journalists on the ground in Alaska reveal that President Donald J. Trump has successfully arranged for the acquisition by Russian President Putin of the body of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Britain has announced it will put troops in Ukraine as soon s there is a ceasefire announced. And, so Ukraine can rearm.
Why would Russia agree to a ceasefire so ‘foreign’ troops can be deployed, and for the purpose of rearming Ukraine?
What if Russia sasys a short ceasefire for a week to maintain the status quo to see if settlement discussions could be productive- no rearming, no foreign troops?
You can see, from both verbiage and actions, that the deep state is still determined to sabotage any attempt at a ceasefire.
But I don’t think GB actually has troops for this purpose.
It looks like the ‘deep state’, NATO, France/GB/Germny want an ‘unconditional ceasefire’ to stop the Russian advance, rearm Ukraine, add new systems, and place European troops in Ukraine as targets to prevent resumption of Russian advance through threat of these nations formally entering the war if peace negotiations fail (which they would).
And President Trump should announce that if any NATO government sends troops to into Ukraine after a ceasefire is announced, the United States will pull out of NATO and Europe will be on their own.

I hope that Trump can figure out how to get a settlement but that’s just hope. Facts on the ground are not conducive for a settlement. Russia is crushing the Ukraine all along the front. I’m it’s obvious that the Ukraine is out of reserves. They stripped the rest of the front of their best units to send to the Pokrovsk region to stabilize the situation. Now the Russians are moving quickly everywhere the Ukraine pulled units from. The situation is desperate for the Ukrainian army. Russia has no reason to compromise. Sanctions against Russia no longer have any effect. Secondary sanctions against China and India will simply sour relations with those countries and accelerate the abandonment of the dollar. Secondary sanctions are more a poison pill for us than leverage against Russia. Some very good analysis I read predict the total collapse of the Ukrainian army could come at any moment and the latest time is February of ‘27. Either way there’s no hope at all of Ukraine recovering any territory and it becomes ever more likely that Russia takes all of the Ukraine.
I pray that no matter what happens in Alaska Trump walks away from the loss in Ukraine.

This war has been a three-year bloody grind, millions killed, mostly Ukrainians, provoked underhandedly by US State Dept / CIA neocons, Britain’s MI6 apparatus, and the girl-bosses of the EU, for no good reason, namely, to weaken and possibly break-up Russia so as to get at its vast mineral and energy resources. This has been tried before in history, always to the grief of the triers.
Mr. Trump well understands that one way or another, Russia is going to prevail in this conflict on-the-ground. He abhors all the killing. He has already expressed a disinclination to keep backing the war with money and weapons. He must be disgusted at how the Bidens (and the Deep State) used Ukraine as a money-laundry, as a site for bioweapons labs, and how it served as a nexus for human trafficking.
He also knows that Russia wants badly to be re-admitted to normal relations with the West, which is in everybody’s interest, except perhaps China’s. You should infer therefore that Russia wants the war to end in a way that does not humiliate the losers and backers — perhaps along the lines of how America managed our victory against our enemies in World War Two, carefully and gracefully.
