Perhaps viewed as a Lawfare shot across the bow to those who might share or discuss sensitive government information including leaks to media from internal sources, President Trump has reportedly revoked the security clearances of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and around a dozen DC operators who use the currency of information access to assimilate wealth and influence.
WASHINGTON – President Trump issued a memo Friday rescinding the security clearances of more than a dozen individuals, including former President Joe Biden and his entire family, former Vice President Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton.
“I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information,” Trump wrote in the memo to the heads of executive departments and agencies, before naming those he’s barring from receiving classified information.
The list includes his three past presidential election opponents — Clinton, Biden and Harris — as well as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Former Biden administration officials Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan and Lisa Monaco are also on the list, as is anti-Trump Republicans Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney.
“I hereby direct every executive department and agency head to take all additional action as necessary and consistent with existing law to revoke any active security clearances held by the aforementioned individuals and to immediately rescind their access to classified information,” Trump, 78, wrote.
The president also ordered executive department and agency heads to “revoke unescorted access to secure United States Government facilities from these individuals.” (link)

He refused to hire ANY SES members for any cabinet positions. It would be difficult to do a blanket axe of SES because they may be performing an essential task in some department that can not readily be manned by a MAGA or supportive person. I am sure his department heads, charged with reducing staff are aware of his stance on SES. I do not expect them to stop with SES members, i expect them to remove any employees that answer first to the Crown and not first to the US. The Crown is a British company that answers to the City of London, including the Rothschilds and King Charles, III.

I don’t see a reason why they should have one. It looks like the security clearances around DC are distributed like the candy on a parade.
Having a Security Clearance gives the holder of the SC information that can be sold for a nice price.
Agreed. As soon as I retired, my clearance was still good for, I believe, 2years or maybe more. Clearances should be immediately terminated upon the end of your employment, IMHO.
They can be reinstated for two years, but they are considered inactive. There should be an active government contract and a need to know for anyone holding a clearance. Clearances can be withdrawn due to adverse information and reinstatement is then denied.
The military downgrades clearance when they don’t need it when I would transfer to a position that didn’t need it. I hope they still do?
There may be a good case for some overlap in some cases when people are critical and supporting active systems, but not for more than 2 years.
Having a clearance doesn’t mean you have “need to know”.
For all the fuss about classified documents we experienced the past few years one would think those outside of government work should no longer have ready access to such information. The more broadly shared, the more likely the leaking or the losing of the data.
I’m waiting for Pres Trump to announce he is reopening the Dobbs leak case with the FBI involved this time.

There’s no reason for any of them to have a blanket security clearance. In fact, there’s no reason for any former government official to retain their security clearance after they leave office. If they need to be consulted on a sensitive matter, then they be “read in” on a need to know basis.
Mary McCord should be included for sure. There must be some underlying reason for the delay. Perhaps it has something to do with her husband being a Roberts senior staffer. Perhaps after the court decides a few cases he will move on her also.

Is this a setup for Mary? If she still has access to classified info and is baited with very specific info and it leaks we now know that only one source could have provided that, very simple setup and arrest operation. I do not know what the charges could be for leaking classified information but I do feel the charges would be appropriate and rather costly.

Whomever gets caught providing information should also lose their clearance after being fully prosecuted and sent to jail.

There are issues surrounding Bill that pertain to his status as a former POTUS that are not incurred with her access. I think the reason he was able to limit Biden’s access had to do with his dementia rendering him incapable of keeping secrets. Otherwise, I do not think he would have been able to remove Biden’s access. He has not limited Obama, any Bush or Bill Clinton. He may ultimately be able to get the process changed so that former POTUS’s access is limited to a certain number of years after their service. There are national security concerns for there to be some overlap of access between Presidential administrations.
Not revoking Obama is a mistake. He is the worst architect.
