As the story was told, there is a certain percentage of Americans who like the paper straw mandate; however, I never met anyone from that tribe.
First of all, for those who think Pres. Trump cannot undo regulations, I disagree. Regulations are Not Laws. Also, I request he get rid of smart meters–he may need Congress to do this, not sure.
These dolts are unaware that Trump is following the Constitution. Every time he does they scream that it’s UNCONSTUTIONAL! The Constitution….it’s unconstitutional.

The difference in cost dramatically increased after smartmeters were installed without consent from consumers vs analog meters . We also had meter readers – people come out monthly to read meters prior to the next month’s billing.

I had a meter replaced 5 years ago or so and it talked with headquarters. No meter reader needed. But, they replaced it with a new one that allows headquarters to talk back. My only choice was to have a meter installed that required a person to read it, or the so-called smart meter. I asked them why they offer a meter that requires a person and they could not answer that.
I could not keep my almost new meter that reported my usage. So, they spent at least a 100 bucks on every single residence in MN. Waste? Oh, way beyond that!
Why? I think we know it is about control of us.
Way back in the 70’s there was a company in Washington, DC called Stone Straw Company. They made paper straws.
Their plant was closed and torn down to make way for the Metro.
This move may turn Hunter MAGA.

I know it is a problem some places, but I have never been given or taken a paper straw at any fast food restaurant or other restaurant. Plastic straws have remained available in stores because I bought some in 2021 when this Biden mandate was being discussed because I didn’t want paper straws.
Guess it must be more of an issue in some places.
I’ve found places using “recyclable” plastic straws made from recycled plastics! All that processing kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?
In St Pete, FL, one must have a concealed carry permit to use a plastic straw.
I find paper straws to be about the same as plastic straws in use. I don’t care either way.
Paper straws were a thing in NOVA for about 2 weeks, then they tried sippy cup lids, then plastic straws came back.
Hopefully light bulbs will be next. I am tired of paying big dollars for globes that lose brightness.
I want incandescent bulbs to be legally sold again! Some of us experience seizures from exposure to LEDs. We should be able to live safely in our own homes!

The super bright headlights on a newer car may be safer for that driver. However, when I’m driving at night, I can’t look directly at them.
It would not surprise me that LED lights could harm our retinas.

The straw debacle is the epitome of of the ridiculous climate agenda. Paper straws in plastic wrappers. Plastic straws in paper wrappers.
Oh we can’t have logic in our government. Oh no no no. We can’t have anyone with common sense.
I lived in Southern California for over 40 years. Every winter the rains bring sewage spills to the Tijuana River Valley on the AMERICAN side of the border. This has been going on for years and years. Lots of “environmental” studies. But NEVER any resolution.
Look at the environmental disaster at our Southern Border with all of the coyotes crossing and leaving all of their garbage along the way.
Two perfect examples of cleaning up REAL environmental problems. NO Government Agency, No Non-Profit (think Sierra Club) have been able to DO ANYTHING to clean these areas up or FINE the people that are responsible.
I’ll stop using plastic straw when that CRAP gets fixed.
Until then, I’ll use whatever damn straw I want thank you very much.

Our local health food store has switched from plastic bags to their leftover boxes to carry our purchases to the vehicle. ..to “save the Earth” don’t you know?! They are awkward and hard to work with.
Next time I’m there, I’m bringing a few plastic bags and pop them out of my purse for my groceries. 🙂
Now get rid of the TSA screenings for all American citizens.

The Biden mandate was strange…as if people needed to be constantly reminded of how much Biden sucked!
I don’t know how many times I have said to my husband, “They’re always making stupid laws. Why can’t they make a stupid law that *I* want?” And President Trump has done it now twice for me. First, the water levels in the appliances – there’s no telling how many more chemicals I use in my laundry to rid athletic teenage boys’ dirt and stink because of the lack of water in my machine. And now, my beloved plastic straws. If he standardizes the sound levels across TV channels, I’ll think I died and went to heaven.
Speaking of straws, please McDonalds, bring back your sturdy white straws with the red and yellow stripes.
They switched to these clear, flimsy kind at least where I live.
