This is a big one, and well worth the November vote all by itself.
President Trump has announced his intention to Make Straws Great Again, by signing an executive order reversing the insufferable paper straw dictate from the Biden era.
[SOURCE]
As the story was told, there is a certain percentage of Americans who like the paper straw mandate; however, I never met anyone from that tribe.

Next do plastic grocery bags.
Good – now do incandescent lightbulbs
💯 this^^
This times one million.
I’m tired of LCD “ten year” bulbs that cost 5× as much as incandescent, but melt down after six months – literally.
Compare and contrast with incandescent bulbs that can stay lit for decades.
https://www.livermoreca.gov/things-to-do/centennial-light-bulb
The world’s longest burning light bulb was first installed at the fire department in Livermore, CA in 1901.
add the fact that they are TOXIC and must be disposed of in a specific way! They are dangerous if dropped and broken
No. LED bulbs are disposed the same way incandescent bulbs are disposed – in the trash. They are Not toxic.
CFL – Fluorescent bulbs are toxic with small amounts of mercury.
*Also: People here are confusing LED with LCD. LED refers to current lightbulb technology. LCD is Liquid Crystal Display which is most flat panel TVs today.
Don’t forget the LSD, too!
I don’t know… I’m really Leary about that.
LED… LCD…
I just saw that typo, but it’s too late for it to be corrected, thanks!
(can I blame autocorrect?)
Down with LEDs!
Was not pleased with the ones with the swirl that you were supposed to dispose of at the big box hardware stores.
Also the light from LED is within a narrow band of wavelength, unlike incandescent.
There is reason to think that long term exposure to visible light that is within only concentrated wavelengths harms the eyes (causes cataracts later in life, etc.)
Source:
https://sites.tufts.edu/eeseniordesignhandbook/2015/leds-technology/
For possible health effects of long term exposure to narrow ranges of electromagnetic radiation, search Dr Tom Cowan.
Modern LEDs are UV that excites a phosphorous coating.
“but melt down after six months”
Usually because, besides China manufacturing, the driving electronics in the base fail due to heat when installed in incandescent sockets that weren’t designed for good ventilation because they didn’t NEED good ventilation.
The centennial light is a pre Phoebus cartel incadescent light.
They don’t make them like that anymore.
And here I thought it was the bulb in my bedroom lamp. 38 years & still going strong.
I believe he did…on day 2…through E.O.

UNLEASHING AMERICAN ENERGY
EXECUTIVE ORDER
January 20, 2025
(f) to safeguard the American people’s freedom to choose from a variety of goods and appliances, including but not limited to lightbulbs, dishwashers, washing machines, gas stoves, water heaters, toilets, and shower heads, and to promote market competition and innovation within the manufacturing and appliance industries;
Thank you, and thanks to @QCM below – I had not read the entire EO, but thought it applied only to gas and oil! Yippee!! So pleased to see this.
Hallelujah on the gas stoves. The place I moved into has only electric stoves. Cannot cook with them. 😡
Make Kenmore Great Again.

https://dailycaller.com/2025/01/21/donald-trump-lightbulbs-shower-heads-executive-order/
FTA:
Buried deep in the executive to “unleash American Energy” is a line about … lightbulbs and shower heads?!
As Section 2(f) reads, “It is the policy of the United States . . . to safeguard the American people’s freedom to choose from a variety of goods and appliances, including but not limited to lightbulbs, dishwashers, washing machines, gas stoves, water heaters, toilets, and shower heads, and to promote market competition and innovation within the manufacturing and appliance industries.”
It’s ALL right there…don’t let the leftist websites or google searches gas light us into thinking we aren’t winning across the board!!!
Speaking of government overreach…
“They’re in your pants !!!”

and to think I spent so many years making sure the wrong types did not get into my pants!
Agreed! The other XO wasn’t enough to reverse the 💡 ban.😭
https://edisonreport.com/2025/01/27/about-that-executive-order/
Please, I want my incandescent light bulbs back. The LCDs suck.
Please 🙏 this. My stash is getting low….^^^^^^
I don’t care one way or the other. But, incandescent lightbulbs should be available. An LED bulb with the right color temperature produces very nice light, saves money on my utility bill, and the bulbs are not costly anymore.
LEDs suck…the light is harsh…they flicker…and they don’t last very long.
Like I said, I don’t care one way or the other.
My house is filled with LED lights that don’t have the problems you describe. Perhaps we can both receive the choices we want.
My LED lights don’t suck, and I don’t suck my drinks from a straw.
Some are that way. Higher quality bulbs can appear virtually identical to incandescent, and if manufactured properly, can outlast most incandescnt bulbs. Admittedly, there are some pretty bad LEDs out there. I am in favor of allowing consumer choice.
My LED lights have lasted for years! Whereas the incandescent bulbs only lasted a few months. The CFL bulbs were horrible! So glad they were replaced with LED.
YES!!! That’s a big one for me; and while we are at it, lets get toilets that remove waste in one flush, and washing machines that I can control how much water my clothes are washed in!!
Big pet peeves for me.
Speed Queen brand is made in the USA and gives you the water you need.👍🏻👍🏻 Parts are made in USA and they are easy to repair. Salesman said, “You see that Eco setting? That’s the government setting.”!!! I replied, “I’ll put duct tape over it!”😄
Just bought no name brand Chinese-made 18″ florescent bulbs from Amazon for my under-cabinet lighting which may be crap because I can only buy LED replacements which may not be compatible with my fixtures and which don’t have the color balance I want because florescents can’t be sold where I’m at. LEDs use 8 watts, the florescents use 15W, saving a whopping 7 watts each for lights that aren’t on all the time.
NANNY STATE.
I love the halogens in our Mathmos (‘Lava’) Lamps. They require the heat to operate.
And who still remembers those toy Easy Bake ovens for the girls that needed a 100 watter for those cupcakes.
And we still run the colored C7 and C9 incandescents at Christmas (except with the electric bill arrives).
And nothing can dim as precisely as an incandescent can.
But there’s a place for LEDs too. I like not having to replace the dash lamps on our truck like I used to on our ones from the 80s and 90s. After that first steering column drop to replace a dash lamp, you are willing to put up with LEDs that burn a little cooler, but go on for 15+ years.
What I don’t like is being forced to use one or the other.
Choice, and let the market decide the winners and losers.
The incandescent C9s and patio lights wound around the tropical plants on my porch kept them toasty and happy during the Panhandle snowstorm. Ditto for my raised bed veggies. It’s a rather magical effect watching the soft twinkling under the frost cloth on a snowy night.
Get rid of Ethonol
And those blinding, eye piercing automobile headlights…
Absolutely! Some of us have seizures from LED bulbs!
The forever chemicals inside paper straws must have been intense
How does paper become water proof? Crazy bad chemicals is
I stocked up used ones from when they were still being used and they can be bought cheaply on Amazon when those wear out. F-em.
I have a theory.
Those plastic grocery bags that have been offered now for I don’t know how many years as an alternative to the brown paper grocery bags could be responsible for problems people have with their arms and shoulders . . .
just my opinion, I am not a doctor nor do I play one on tv, however:
when you overload yourself carrying those bags from the car into the house, they are hanging from your forearms . . . all that concentrated weight . . . do you think that could be a contributing factor to cases diagnosed as carpal tunnel syndrome and/or bursitis?
I do like the grip on a plastic bag a little better than a paper bag. But overloading them might cause the issues you mentioned. A lot of the grocers offer the reusuable bags, which I think are the worst of all worlds: unsanitary after a few uses (unless you waste a washer cycle on them), you have to carry a stack in the back seat all the time, and many are made out of … plastic.
We use the plastic grocery bags for all sorts of things, including long term stowage.
This past Christmas, I was looking at some ornaments in the old bags, a few going back 30-35 years. The logos on some of them, for stores from many decades ago now long gone, were their own time capsule. They still held the garland and such just fine when we packed everything back up for another year in the attic.
And anyone attempting to pick up dog poopies in the yard with a paper bag is asking for trouble! The plastic ones are great for that … as long as they don’t have a hole in them.
We always try to find places that still say “paper or plastic” and don’t charge us for them.
A supermarket chain in the Northeast (HQ: Rochester,NY) stopped providing disposable plastic bags at all their stores at the end of 2022. Your bagging choices with them are buying paper bags at the checkout for 5 cents each, purchase branded reusable bags for 99 cents each or bring your own plastic or reuseable bags. The one change they implemented that I really do not care for is that they converted all of their self -checkout terminals to “card – only” payment.
Rotator cuff?
Yes, I think that is what it is called – I mean, the rotator cuff in the shoulder can be damaged as well with the continued trauma to the forearm, you’re slinging these things back and forth as you are walking back and forth, maybe putting an extra load as you stop to get the mail, open the doors, etc. and then after a pattern of doing this, you get bursitis, especially in cold, damp weather . . .
to the extent of damaging the rotator cuff, like overdoing it on a rowing machine!
When you get bursitis and you don’t know what it is, it’s like you might have ten different problems causing the pain . . . breast cancer, lung cancer, bone cancer, heart problem? It’s all of a sudden excruciating just when you go to grip a Kleenex . . . the bursa that get irritated – itis – are little sacs along the sympathetic nervous system and it seems like it can be in your wrist, arm, shoulder, deep into the shoulder and you just need a hot pack and go to bed but maybe you have 10 million things you have to do so that’s out!
I found out from my Mom that she had bursitis many years before I had my first bout and someone told her about B-150 vitamins – B complex, 150 mgs of the whole range of B vitamins – take 2 a day for 4 days, one in the morning, one at night. Stop taking after the 4 days. It might even be gone before the 4 days have elapsed but keep taking the B vitamins for the full 4 days. Stop for a few days and then do another round of 4 days if it is still bothering you. Drink a lot of water.
I am sharing this because it is much better on the system than taking something like feldene which doesn’t even chip into the pain and those are like taking 30 aspirin a day.
And lay off carrying too many plastic bags.
More hypocrisy of the left…plastic grocery bags good, plastic straws bad and paper bags bad, paper straws good…can’t make this stuff up!
Paper bags…the go to for kids all over the country…to cover their school books.
Unless you’re in Colorado with a pos commy government that has banned all plastic bags.
I bought a 1,000 bag box of those T-shape plastic grocery bags a couple years ago. I love using them at the store. I get the same looks as when I would wear my Blue Lives Matter bandana over my face at the store during the 2020 fentanyl/covid riots.
While is at it, make paper grocery bags great again
Personally, I like the collapsible box grocery bags. It’s much easier to sit down and not fall over or smash things like a loaf of bread, etc.
Where do you get those? I have purchased my own canvas grocery bags so as not to collect so much plastic or paper. I like the collapsible box idea; haven’t seen that around here.
Many grocery stores sell them like Walmart.
Oh NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! President Trump capitulated to Colombia’s president Gustavo Petro who said that cocaine is no worst than whiskey. /s
Personally do not agree with the implications of this cartoon but to each their own. President Trump has accomplished more in the first 2 weeks to start righting our ship than anyone else can. To imply that this little EO ignores the homeless, while accurate at top level, ignores everything going on beneath the waves.
This artwork mocks the leftist insanity of banning straws to promote their climate manufactured crisis….nothing more.
Oh duh my bad – I was reading it the opposite way. I stand corrected
youre joking right?
That’s what I thought also!
Sometimes it’s these little things that involve personal choice much like free speech! It’s all about control and power!
it’s a kind of grooming. You get trained to accept small infractions that gradually become more and more egregious. It starts with straws and ends with law limiting the number of children you’re allowed to have.
Best news ever!
“This is a big one, and well worth the November vote all by itself.” I hope your statement is a bit of hyperbole.
I quit using straws. A straw is not necessary to drink liquid – paper or plastic – and is only occasionally useful. Straws mostly satisfy an abnormal oral fixation not relieved in infancy.
“Straws mostly satisfy an abnormal oral fixation not relieved in infancy.” Way too funny!
This isn’t about Kamala.
It’s also Not about a ‘strawman’.
If you had a longer than average mustache and beard…you would find a plastic straw quite useful. Saves on napkins and paper towels.
Don’t use the napkin or paper towel. It saves something for your wife or girlfriend to munch on. 😀
OTOH, I get your point. I’ve worn a beard and mustache in the past.
My wife passed away in January 2014.
I don’t trust restaurant/bar glasses are washed thoroughly (was once served a drink with lipstick still on the rim) so I prefer a straw.
Yea. I don’t like the look of lipstick on my bar glass unless it’s from my wife. Do you think the interior of the restaurant/bar glass is washed any better than the rim?…
Buy your drink in the bottle if possible. Make mine a Guinness.
The idea is that maybe you don’t want to sip from the edge of the glass being provided . . . but then when you really think about THAT, why do you want drink what is IN the glass.
A plastic straw is what I would want for drinking my McDonald’s milkshake while eating my McDonald’s french fries . . . back in the day (years and years ago it seems).
Back when McDonald’s french fries were really good. My first HS job, late 1960’s, was working the fryer at McD’s…
Back in the Day, I prefered a soda shop malt with 2 straws – but I wasn’t thinking much about the straws. 🙂
They are a rescue for sensitive teeth and for not dowsing yourself with your drink in a restaurant trying to sip the small amount of beverage trapped in a whole cup full of ice! 😀
Ice is cheaper than what ever you ordered in the glass … as especially refills (soda)are mostly wasted, you can ask for no or lite ice tho, otherwise personnel are required to fill glass with ice. I always ask for no ice when I am purchasing a soda but you gotta have ice for real ice tea as it is room temp otherwise.
As for refills on soda, I saw an article that some states are banning “free refills” & requiring removal of “self service” soda stations … employee or AI filling stations only … i’m sure that will cost less …. right?
Can we also Make Beef Tallow Great Again?
It is starting already.
Steak and Shake already announced that by the end of the month ALL locations will be beef tallow only!
No more seed oil!!!
I fervently hope that Five Guys does the same.
It’s my 2× yearly junk food fix.
(otherwise, organic beef / french fries prepared at home for a fraction of the cost)
I quit 5 Guys when I went for a cheeseburger, fries and medium coke. 20$. And there was a tip jar beside register. FYI, in PA
🙂
I wish we had one here in Texas.
Can we stop pushing the bug eating narrative too? I laugh when news outlets try to say “it’s a delicacy in other parts of the world!” cool, you mean the starving Africans?
Now follow through with his 2nd Amendment support promises.
Wake me when he does.
No red flag laws. Existing statutes are sufficient.
We should be able to acquire plastic straws, incandescent lightbulbs + washing machines & toilets that use enough water to get the job done. (A much, much longer list can be made.)
Diesel passenger vehicles would also be welcome, as I still miss my VW Passat TDI — best vehicle I’ve ever owned, and at 50 mpg — it was beyond compare.
Let us choose. If anyone wants to be a ‘greenie-weenie’, well – have at it! For anyone who has a bit more commonsense — let them decide what they want to do as well.
I believe the VAST majority of people are just sick & tired of being ‘told what to do’ by faceless bureaucrats & pathetic politicians.
Hopefully, the nightmare that was ‘Covid-19’ — gave humanity enough guts, gumption & awakening to REJECT Authoritarian Dictates long into the future.
That’s my hope.
I hope President Trump repeal’s the federal mandate on 10% ethanol on 87 octane gasoline
My ’89 Buick gets 21MPG with ethanol-free premium gasoline, and 14-16MPG with ethanol.
I was going to say something like this. I get 10% worse mileage with 10% ethanol gas. Ethanol in gasoline is another scam.
Worse, ethanol destroys the engine over time.
Which forces you to buy new cars or pay for a new engine.
I imagine that’s exactly the point, though.
It also costs more to produce, and an ethanol plant uses 10’s of thousands of groundwater each day
This is accurate.
it is really bad in the cold weather here in Mn. Corn should be used for food not fuel
Ditto your request for diesel passenger vehicles. Once upon a time there was a diesel Jeep Cherokee ….
There was also a Porsche Cayenne Diesel.
There are over $50 billion reasons that won’t happen.
.
How about automobiles that are solely mechanical and not computer spy devices.
.
“As the story was told, there is a certain percentage of Americans who like the paper straw mandate; however, I never met anyone from that tribe.”
Try living in New England. You can’t buy plastic bags, plastic straws, or single use plastic water bottles in most cities and towns a grocery store but nearly all of allow free hypodermic needles distribution. Interestingly, there are no punishments for littering with your used needles (or used facemasks, which are everywhere) but God forbid you buy a straw. Because environment, or something.
On second thought, don’t try.
Are those syringes made of plastic, or glass?
They are made of 50% coddling, 50% enabling, and 100% co-dependency.
Ah. Modern math.
Doubt they even still make the glass ones anymore. My late mom, being diabetic, only had access to the glass ones till they finally came out with plastic.
Screw every idea the deranged leftists ever come up with; but it’s best to stay away from plastic utensils altogether. There is evidence that microplastics in the body can cause heart attacks & strokes. Let the leftist continue using plastic straws. The sooner they stroke out the better.
There have been recent articles about microplastic accumulating in human brain tissue … I believe Epoch Times wrote it up.
I’m not a fan of plastic, but we can 100% make biodegradable plastics. They’re derived from plants if I remember correctly, more specifically wood.
The original commercial plastic containers were made from cellulose.
Oh no!!!! It over now. That’s the last straw…
A paper straw, wrapped in plastic. Environmentalists are just mental.
And most plastic straws are wrapped in paper.
This is bigger than straws
-The master troller
New$cum is old scum

Is anyone surprised by this?
I saw this scam coming as soon as the first match was lit – and I’m sure many others did, too.
Get rid of Newscummer, Big Mouth Karen Bass, and the rest of the Liberal greek chorus – then you can have your old neighborhoods back, California.
Dang! Adam Corolla said it from day one.
Check out number five.
The City of Los Angeles’ Smart City Committee came to the following conclusions:
https://ita.lacity.gov/sites/g/files/wph1626/files/2021-05/SmartLA2028%20-%20Smart%20City%20Strategy.pdf
In other words: “[you just thought that you were the …] property owner,” now you have to rebuild the way we tell you to.
Or, maybe you just want to accept the “buy-out” that you just received in the mail. This letter was sent to you by a “NGO” whose major investor just happens to be your Governor’s “LLC.”
…and the really smart residents will move to Idaho!
in the fine print, “license plate readers to monitor how far you drive and punish those who emit too much carbon”
Do I smell another EO coming? Let them Build Back the way they were before!
When President Trump went to California regarding the fires
he said something -specifically about letting them build what they had; and even better.
Idiot controller!
…and we don’t have to give you billions of dollars to rebuild anything, Gavin!
It’s almost like the fires were intentional. Like Hawaii.
Do low-flow toilets.
And shower heads
Paper straws don’t suck..they melt.
My foreign friends were shocked to learn cocaine was legal in Oregon but not plastic straws.
They asked me if America has a mental health problem.
Yes.
Thank goodness.
As I get older straws are becoming necessary.
That’s the dumb part about the left’s stupid “policies”, they don’t give a rats butt about the conseqences. AKA women’s sports, people with disabilities that need straws………..etc.
They pretend to care but just want control.
To think it started with a shopped picture of a sea turtle with a straw in it’s beak.
Yup! And I always wanted to ask why all those ‘environmentally concerned” cities were dumping all their garbage that contained those straws in the rivers and oceans in the first place.
Are they now going to dump all their toxic solar panels and wind turbines there also?
and it’s the same picture they’ve been showing since the late 80s!
I know the people of this tribe. They happily make accommodations and celebrate new solutions such as sugar straws (yum), new straw-like cup cap designs and other innovations. When visiting out of state they share about how great these innovations are (while using the straws provide at the drive through).
Platkin’s Climate Change Lawsuit Dismissed with Prejudice…
A New Jersey lawsuit accusing major oil companies of contributing to climate change has been dismissed.
The lawsuit, spearheaded by New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin in 2022, targeted industry behemoths like ExxonMobil, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Phillips 66, Shell, and the American Petroleum Institute.
It alleged that their operations exacerbated climate-related damages across the state.
According to the lawsuit:
Plaintiffs assert that Defendants have engaged in a decades-long campaign to discredit the science of global warming, conceal the dangers posed by their fossil fuel products, and misrepresent their efforts to combat climate change.
The judge concluded that the oil and natural gas products at issue were legal for use by the public.

MDGA…
Make. Dishwashers. Great. Again.
MTFA
Make. Toilets. Flush. Again
MACA
Make. Air conditioning. Cold. Again
ETC….
More winnamins and salty liberal tears. 😂
I don’t have a problem with paper straws as long as they’re as durable as the ones we had in the 60’s. It also supports loggers. Same with bags. Paper bags please.
Yeah! Shouldn’t have to mandate anything.
I like it, although I did purchase my own stainless steel personal straw because I HATE PAPER Straws!
Bring back V-8s.
I always felt better having a V8…
V8 makes pretty good Bloody Mary’s!
Adding vodka to the V8 for extra vitamins. LOL
Wonderful!
Plastic straws in paper wrappers or paper straws in plastic wrappers?
Next do light bulbs.
Congress needs a ton of pressure to make these EO permanent.
Trump should have a pile of MAGA bills to sign already.
Paperback writer. So cool
I want to be a paperback writer. Paper, paper, paper.
Cut baby cut. Chop, chop.😂😏
Next, how about that damn button on my truck that I have to push to keep it from shutting off at the stoplight, then restarting 30 seconds later.
And the button I have to push every three days on my water heater to switch it back to electric instead of heat pump mode, when I am heating the house with an oil furnace.
You’ve never been to Breckenridge, CO. The looney left town council up there LIVES for diktats like this. They also love that the business owners are who gets yelled at by customers.
This is the same town that put up nearly 500 “mask” sign, posters, and banners on a 1-mile stretch of street (including ones threatening fines and arrest) outside.
Safe estimate is that 19% of Americans will be foaming at the mouth outraged by Trump repealing the order. 99.5% of Americans will gladly use the plastic straws.
Yes I know those numbers overlap.
Nobody even follows that directive in my neck of the woods. Pop into a corner store here and they’ll give you what you want. It’s been years since I’ve even seen a paper straw.
Get rid of catalytic converters.
I dont know about that one. With a catalytic converter, there is almost no carbon monoxide in the exhaust. Garden hose in the tailpipe isnt a viable way out any more.
https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/lost-todays-job-revision-chaos-over-1-million-foreign-born-workers-found-job-and-no
Paper straws are stupid if you take more than 15 minutes to drink your beverage!
If I could post a picture, it would be the meme of a little girl with a straw in her hand running from Biden and saying “NO! I need it for my juice box!”
My stars in Heaven above.
It’s the year 2025, and we have to have Presidential EO’s for straws.
‘MCSCA’! (Make Common Sense Common Again)
MAGA!! 👊👊🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️
Remember,
Not that long ago, in Oregon, cocaine was legal but the straw you used to snort it was not.
Isn’t that where the original “straw man” argument surfaced? I still have 3/4 of a case of Diamond® Plastic straws because of that 10 year old kid.
Is he going to being back the incandescent light bulbs??
I just replaced an LED that burnt out. I thought they weren’t supposed to burn out? Luckily I had just found an old fashioned incandescent. I had forgotten how nice they were.
LEDs in theory are capable of millions of hours of use. The problem with the LED bulbs mostly lies in how the circuits are designed that drive the component LED’s within it. They are literally designed to fail with lower quality integrated components and ineffective waste heat management which is the bane of all semiconductor devices.
Short answer, they are built so cheap that “normal” use is counter to the long-term longevity of the circuits driving many of them.
I was at Sea World FL in 1988 where they had paper straws. They said it was in case any got into the tanks where they might harm the animals. That made [some] sense. I hated them because they quickly became too wet to function.
I rest my case…..
Can he please do something about the anti-meat propaganda next?
Can I get my disposable plastic garbage bags back too?
What? Allowing plastic again?? THIS IS THE LAST STRAW!!!
Wow…Wordman…you are missing out!
LOL…I’ll give you it’s not my best stuff!
The straw that broke the unicorn’s back?
Climate cultists will surely experience an existential crisis.
They banned plastic grocery bags but didn’t ban those self serve plastic bags in the produce dept for your veggies. Nor did they ban plastic used to wrap packages of chicken, pork, beef, sausage, keilbasa. All those meats sit on absorbant paper that’s plastic lined. And those meat trays are styrofoam, which is a petroleum byproduct.
Bacon is sold in plastic. Sauerkraut in plastic. Mustard in plastic. Ketchup in plastic. Citric (acidic) juices are sold in plastic jugs. Vinegar (higly acidic) sold in plastic bottles. All those plastic containers contain BPA, a hormone changing component of plastic that makes plastic pliable and is also used in epoxy. Could this explain why chubby 15 yo American boys have breasts?
How did so many fkg morons who make the rules get into such positions of power?
Enough tomfoolery, both sides have a point.
The Ocean Cleanup has developed and piloted two proven methods to clean up the enormous Pacific Garbage Patch. The longer we delay, plastic breaks down into micro particles which fish eat.
Why don’t we cobble together some major corporations and individuals to fund:
1. An additional ‘System 3.0’ giant garbage collector.
2. Ten to twenty floating barge ‘Interceptors’ – which prevent garbage floating down rivers into the ocean. The Ocean Cleanup says 1,000 rivers dump the majority of plastic into the ocean. One Interceptor is only $1 Million. Cheap.
President Trump or one of his organizations could fund one, Elon one, etc. Then challenge the Democrats to match it.
It was always a straw man argument.
😎
Please give me back my old easy pour 5 gal gasoline containers. I’ll be forever grateful.
I modify all of mine. It’s simple.
there is a kit you can buy…swap out everything, drill/punch a hole for venting (which allows the fuel to actually flow, and safely!). I think I got 10 sets of them for less than 15 bucks. Temu…yeah yeah…I know ….china. who do you think is making the gas cans? one thing about this. why would I pay for American retailers, like amazon, Walmart, target, costco, sams’ and all other so called American owned big box stores when they have all worked so hard to make maga a Trump go away? and besides, I’m not fond of markup on retail when I can shop and get it from the source directly. because that is what 90 percent of this stuff really is. It’s all made in China. Until US manufacturers can start being competitive and drop retails prices, there is no reason to support these lefties.
In some ways, I do support President Trump with the tarriffs, but until the “US” retailers start dropping prices to compete, I’ll continue to shop elsewhere …
that same set of retrofit fillers btw are not even sold in any of these big box stores. they are afraid of being on the wrong side of team stupid.
rant over
God Bless America
Thanks for the tip! I lose power frequently in my wooded neighborhood. Takes forever to re-gas my generator.
They still have them but they’re blue and say water on them. Same heavy duty HDPE plastic but with old style easy pour spout….no funky valve to push.
