In the past year, FEMA has spent nearly $20 billion on COVID-19. Why? This represents nearly 42% of their annual emergency assistance budget. Hurricane Maria in comparison, received only $12 billion in funds. Maria hit Puerto Rico in 2017. What possibly could FEMA be spending almost half their budget on dealing with COVID? If FEMA is out of money, I’m thinking we could quit dumping $4 billion a month in to the flu!
