President Trump agreed to speak at the National Association of Black Journalist (NABJ) convention in Chicago, while Kamala Harris has declined the invitation. This has set off some kind of political firestorm amid the constituency of primary focus for the Harris campaign in 2024.
As the New York Times reported, President Trump is scheduled to deliver remarks and sit down for a Question-and-Answer session amid the NABJ assembly in Chicago. President Trump previously spoke to NABJ and has always made himself available. The decision by the people controlling Kamala Harris is not being well received, and the black journalists who support Harris are not happy about these political optics.
(New York Times) – A scheduled appearance by former President Donald J. Trump at a conference for Black journalists in Chicago has generated fierce debate.
The National Association of Black Journalists, which is hosting the conference, announced on Monday that Mr. Trump would take part in a question-and-answer session with political reporters on Wednesday.
The conference’s description says the session will “concentrate on the most pressing issues facing the Black community.” Harris Faulkner, a Fox News anchor; Kadia Goba, a politics reporter at Semafor; and Rachel Scott, an ABC News correspondent, will moderate the session. The event is expected to be livestreamed on the organization’s YouTube and Facebook pages.

April Ryan, a well-known far-left journalist and member of the race-based grievance industry, is very unhappy about the political optics. There are narratives that need to be maintained. Pearls are being clutched and racial peer pressure is not what it used to be.

I watched it, the opening vitriol by Scott was as predictable as the sunrise. Our POTUS responded in true fashion, however I have noticed a marked decrease in fire from P-DJT. He is far more measured and effective now, IMHO.

IT WAS A TRAP. Why did President Trump even bother? He has to be PERFECT in every way to escape getting nuked in these situations. And even his “perfect” would get slammed. But because he challenged black reporters, and mentioned how Kamel “didn’t identify as black” (paraphrasing), it is getting him ROASTED.
We get it. But the in-betweens don’t. This kind of stuff drives them to the “historic” choice (gag!).
Do not take this as my capitulation, or otherwise, as I’m fully on board with my President Trump. I’m simply observing things while trying to envision it from the perspective of people who might be trying to make up their mind.. Unbelievably there are people who still haven’t picked one or the other.

Hardly a youngster…just trying to remove my own bias and see things from a neutral perspective. If you speak with enough people from the mushy middle you begin to understand their thought process. We as conservatives spend a lot of time amongst our own, which is a good thing, cause the left is atrocious to deal with. I have some leftist friends & relatives. We stay friends by setting boundaries on political chatter. Nothing will change their minds…I’ve tried. But some are mushy…they have some foundation that cares about America but they waffle around on issues or who they might support. Those are the ones Trump can move to his box…or lose to the Kamel.

It is well worth watching to see how President Trump outwitted her. Several Youtube videos prove she ran as an Indian American before she ran as a black. I’ll be called a troll here for my take despite the fact I am voting for Trump, but I am one of a few who did not think Trump was at his best at this event. I don’t think he helped his case here. I wish he wouldn’t have done it to be honest.
