Today, the Senate Homeland Security Committee will hold a hearing at 10:00 am EDT with U.S. Secret Service acting director Ronald Rowe and FBI deputy director Paul Abbate, to ask questions about the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump.
In previous House testimony given by FBI Director Chris Wray, he was curiously willing to answer specific questions about the ongoing investigation and the discoveries therein. A substantive change in approach against the backdrop of his years of obfuscation. That said, Wray’s responses were not always factually accurate. Acting Director Ronald Rowe and FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate have not yet answered questions and specific lines of congressional inquiry.

[Via PBS} – […] FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress last week that on July 6, the day Crooks registered to attend the Trump rally, he googled: “How far away was Oswald from Kennedy?” That’s a reference to Lee Harvey Oswald, the shooter who killed President John F. Kennedy from a sniper’s perch in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.
New details, meanwhile, were emerging about law enforcement security lapses and missed communications that preceded the shooting.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, released text messages from members of the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit that showed how local officers had communicated with each other about a suspicious-behaving man who turned out to be Crooks lurking around more than an hour before the shooting.
One text just before 4:30 p.m. describes a man “sitting to the direct right on a picnic table about 50 yards from the exit.”
In another text at 5:38 p.m., an officer tells other counter-snipers: “Kid learning around building we are in. AGR I believe it is. I did see him with a range finder looking towards stage. FYI. If you wanna notify SS snipers to look out. I lost sight of him.” Photographs of Crooks circulated among the group.
AGR is a reference to a complex of buildings that form AGR International Inc, a supplier of automation equipment for the glass and plastic packaging industry. Crooks scaled the roof of one of the buildings of the compound and is believed to have fired eight shots at the rally stage with an AR-style rifle that was purchased legally by his father years earlier.
The shots were fired at 6:12 p.m., according to a Beaver County after-action report.
Trump said he was “shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear,” and he appeared in the days later with a bandage on the ear. One rallygoer, Corey Comperatore, was killed, and two others were injured. Crooks was shot dead by a Secret Service counter-sniper.
In an interview with ABC News, a Beaver County officer who sounded the alarm said that after sending a text alerting others to Crooks, “I assumed that there would be somebody coming out to speak with this individual or find out what’s going on.”
Another officer told ABC News that the group was supposed to get a face-to-face briefing with the Secret Service counter-snipers but that that never happened.

They make mistakes and some among them are not very competent. So don’t expect them to be extraordinary, and don’t be surprised when they sometimes fail. It does seem, however, that the quality of the FBI and SS agents has declined in the last 10-12 years.
The decline in the quality of our workforce is widespread throughout the federal government, and the decline began more than two decades ago. We all have witnessed it. Heck, we’ve also witnessed a decline in non-governmental workforce quality, but that’s another topic. Regardless, in certain jobs and places, like these jobs in Butler, it’s a matter of life and death.

The SS and FBI are not incompetent or failures, not in the way they are attempting to portray themselves. Why were windows open in one of the buildings adjacent to where the sniper was located. If the roof was too hot for the counter sniper team, why wasn’t it too hot for the other sniper teams behind and to the right of Trump? Why was Crooks van spotted below the water tower, with an MSNBC sticker on it, yet we are told the bicycle found with the backpack at the scene was his, and then after he was shot, his van was found ten miles down the road? How’d that get there? Why when the shots fired are listened to acoustically, they don’t match up, and this from various sources, and why when the SS and LE got up on the building were only 5 shell casings found, and then 20 minutes later it showed 8 shell casings, three of which were found on the opposite side of where they should have fallen? How is it possible that every important, strategic, and protocoled responsibility of the SS was a “failure”. Every single solitary thing they were responsible for was done wrong. Not one step was done correctly. No one has been fired, Cheatle got to resign, this current cuck in charge is a lying weasel. I don’t want any questions about failure and incompetence. I want these people accused of murder and attempted murder, and in handcuffs before a judge, in front of the entire country. Complete and total transparency.
I noticed how Cheatle wouldn’t / couldn’t answer the question about how many casings were found on the roof. Yet Wray eagerly answered there were eight. I also saw the body cam footage from the local LEO where they counted 1-2-3-4-5 casings. And to my untrained civilian ear it certainly does sound like the first burst of 3 shots sounds distinctly different than the next burst of 5. True? I don’t know, and we surely can’t count on media or three-letter agencies to tell the truth. I’m not sure we can count on Mike Johnson’s “Top Men” to tell the truth either. I think our only hope is if local LEO have the stones to ignore the FBI muzzle and speak out. They risk it all in doing so, I’m afraid.
I’ve been watching videos on YouTube with an acoustics expert who has been given various angles and positions of video taken by people who were actually there. He has analyzed it, puts it on video for you to see, questions everything until he can state something and prove it as actual fact. I believe he said their were 10 shots fired in all that he can account for, and the fact that the first 3 shots do not sound like they came from the same weapon as the following 6 shots, this is excluding the shot to kill the assassin, who I don’t believe was this Matthew Crooks they are serving us up on a platter. In the picture of Crooks on the ground his hair looks all sweaty and stringy, but the guy on the roof shooting at Trump, his hair looks cleanly washed. It sounds like a small thing, but everything matters.
The first 3 shots were from inside the building. Next 5 shots were from outside. Last shot killed Crooks.
Check this link, He combines trajectory analysis, topography, maps and acoustic analysis to explain much of what happened. There was only one assassin, Crooks. The number of shell casings found on the roof confirms he was the shooter. The SS sniper teams could not see him because he was hidden by a tree – clearly visible in video and photos of the scene – that blocked their view. When he broke cover he was taken out. But, that leaves so many questions unanswered and it is almost impossible to believe all the failures were due to incompetence.

The video provided by Chuck Grassley of the first moments on the roof after the shooting have the local LEO saying two different things. Initially, one remarks that he sees 5 shell casings. At the end of the video, he remarks that there are 8 shell casings.
I too listened to the audio, and the first 3 shots seem distinct from the next 5 shots.
As far as the # of shell casings on the roof: my problem is that I don’t trust anyone now. Was local LE in on it? Did the person simply mis-count the first time, having done just a cursory review, and then later saw the 3 additional casings? Were the 5 casings separate and apart physically from the other 3 casings?

With each passing day, I find it more and more difficult to believe that the shooter was able to get into position to attempt the assassination of President Trump without at least having information from a source with direct access to the Secret Service security plans. There is no way in hell he was able to get into firing position with a rifle based solely on a google search and pre-event drone flight. Somebody told him where the gaps would be.

It is incredible to me to watch these hearings and witness the incredible stupidity of members of Congress. If some of these people did not have aides doing their work for them I don’t think they could find their own offices. How do we know that Thomas Crooks’ gun was even fired?? According to the videos, Crooks’ rifle was not even close enough to him to have been used. All these ‘hearings’ are lies and more lies.

Indeed a very good chance he never did.
If they gave him dummy rounds, looking and feeling fully real but inert, he couldn’t start the party early or hit one of their agents in the stands; additionally, his weapon wouldn’t throw rounds off the roof for spectators to find or for Derps to not find, conflicting with their official round count story, which they solved by not letting him fire and bringing their own spent rounds to “find” on the roof.
Then, either after the shooting started and he couldn’t fire his own weapon, or before the firing began if he tried to begin firing right after that peekaboo kop poked his head up, and it didn’t work, he would have abandoned the rifle in search of cover or escape.
That discovery of a useless rifle could have provoked the shooter to begin to move away from the rifle and the shooter team to get busy before their patsy got off the roof leaving only them holding the smoking guns.

Then, as soon as Trump reacted to the bullet, instead of ducking or rising, like everyone else, she took out her smart phone and started recording. Her expresion never changed.
