Some students from Middleton High School in Florida were in attendance for Gov. Ron DeSantis’ announcement of a cybersecurity training initiative at the University of South Florida.
As the Florida governor approached the podium, he said: “You do not have to wear those masks. I mean, please take those off. Honestly, it’s not doing anything. We gotta stop with this covid theater. If you want to wear it fine, but this is ridiculous.”
The media immediately went bananas at the audacity of the governor for giving students the option to remove their masks.
The media is apoplectic (see below for headlines). Newsweek said DeSantis “scolded” them. Business Insider said Desantis “snapped” at them. Yahoo News says DeSantis “bullied” them. CNN said that DeSantis “yelled” at them.
I’m a retired teacher. Lots of crazy people teaching school.
“The ‘media’ said…..” Sounds like an effort by the 1D10Ts within the media to assett how stupid, bigoted, and hate-filled that they are. IMHO, a “jounalist” is someone who can’t find productive employment.
Notice the brainwashed ones who left them on.
The poor kids are so bainwashed they didn’t know if the should or should not take the masks off. They stood their stupidly looking between the governor and their teachers like cows headed for slaughter.
How will these poor kids ever get along in life because of the foolishness and repression they have been put through?

No matter where you stand on masks, this was not a good look for DeSantis. Frankly, I’m getting fed up with republicans that do and say outrageous things on camera and then wonder why they are cast in such a bad light. They know good and well the media is salivating waiting for a chance to get that negative ad or sound bite. Wise up!
The truth shouldn’t be considered outrageous !
“Rudeness is the weak person’s show of strength.”
“Manners cost nothing, but mean everything.”
“The hardest job kids face today is learning good manners without seeing any.”
“He who dares not offend cannot be honest.”

There is nothing outrageous or impolite about telling other people that they don’t have to wear a mask in your presence if they don’t want to. That is actually a polite and respectful gesture.
DeSantis was also correct to call out mask wearing a being a part of covid theater.
Why should conservatives have to conform their behavior to the expectations of the left in order to avoid the left ridiculing them and making them look bad?
I prefer that conservatives defy the left even if they incur the wrath of the left. Why should the left be the ones allowed to set the agreed upon standards for society?
I left another comment on this post stating how my governor in Illinois, Pritzker, forces people to wear a mask as a condition of being allowed in his presence.
That is not the mentality of an elected public servant. That is the mentality of a tyrant who feels unaccountable to the people they are supposed to be serving.
As far as I’m concerned, that is more outrageous and impolite than DeSantis letting people decide for themselves whether they want to wear a mask around him.
“This was not a good look for DeSantis.”
Yeah, if you’re a mask Nazi.
Normals rejoice.
I wish the totalitarian, tyrannical, Chicago-centric Illinois Governor Pritzker was more like DeSantis.
Pritzker actually demands that people wear masks in his royal presence and for some reason most of the people comply, but that is probably because only sycophants are allowed in his exalted presence.
