Senator Ray Lujan from New Mexico suffered a stroke recently. Thankfully, despite the seriousness of his medical situation, he is expected to make a recovery. However, he will likely miss all U.S. Senate work for at least a month. Lujan’s absence creates a significant issue for Senate Democrats in an upper chamber with a 50/50 split.
Lujan suffered the stroke last Thursday, on the same day Joe Biden announced the retirement of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. The news of Senator Lujan’s major medical condition has been essentially quiet.
With Joe Biden expecting to nominate a Supreme Court justice very soon, the senator’s absence could be problematic.
However, not to worry, creepy Joe’s recent praise of Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham will likely assist.
WASHINGTON DC – […] While the 49-year-old New Mexico Democrat is expected to make a full recovery, no one knew when he would return to the evenly divided Senate, or what it means for the immediate agenda.
Luján’s unexpected medical condition comes at a moment when Senate Democrats simply don’t have any votes to spare to pass party priorities, including reviving their social spending bill and now confirming a Supreme Court justice. The latest news could leave Democrats reliant on Republican votes to move forward on nominees and other priorities.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Tuesday evening that Democrats are “grateful” that Luján will make a “full recovery” and that he looks forward to his return to the Senate. He predicted that “the Senate will be able to carry forward with its business.”
Carlos Sanchez, Luján’s chief of staff, said that the senator checked himself into a hospital Thursday afternoon in Santa Fe after experiencing dizziness and fatigue. The senator later learned he had suffered a stroke and had to undergo decompressive surgery. (read more)
President Biden: "Mitch [McConnell], I don't want to hurt your reputation, but we really are friends, and that is not an epiphany we're having here at the moment. You've always done exactly what you've said, you're a man of your word. and you're a man of honor." pic.twitter.com/w9J0tDBO05

Who said mild? He had to have surgery to decompress which mean he had intracranial swelling. There are two different kinds of strokes: thrombotic (clot) and hemorrhagic (bleeding). Probably the latter. So was it a berry aneurym? Age suggests it might be. None of this sounds mild to me. We all wish him a full and complete recovery. We are not like them!
I wonder if the Senator had a recent booster?
Prayers for a full recovery.

Yes, 49 is young to suffer a stroke, though not unheard of, yet I suspect their is more to the story.
He got jabbed in December. A strong “vaccine” advocate. The stroke is just a coincidence
Do they offer to “pair” with a senator from the other side who abstains to even things up? If so, make sure it’s Miss Lindsay who is offered as the pair.
Didn’t songbird McShame do something like that with 0bummer-dont-care?
Honestly if this Demonrat Pol hasn’t been fighting vexx mandates, pissports, and lockdowns tooth and nail for at least a year, I hope he gets the full panoply of vexx injuries, documents it for the world, and then God gives him miraculous healing of body and mind, such that neither he nor our republic is ever as weak and imperiled as they are now. Otherwise, may he shrivel like an unproductive, cursed fig tree.
There is no scenario in which Kamala can vote. With a maximum of 99 Senators present and voting there is no possibility of a tie. The GOP is under no obligation to “pair” with Lujan and let the Senate operate on the basis of 98 Senators present and voting.
Don’t underestimate the commie traitors in the Senate GOP
I don’t believe a word of Senator Lujan’s press release, not one. Given the current circumstances in the Senate it is highly likely the release downplayed the seriousness of the stroke. My good friend Glenn had a stroke at 50 and was never the same again, physically. Mentally he was normal, though. It can go either way.
So when does the Turtle approve the Majority Leader allowing Ben Ray to vote proxy?
Also, there is no reason to confirm a new associate justice since Breyer made clear his resignation isn’t effective until a replacement is CONFIRMED.
Good to see the vaxxes are as safe and effective as ever.
‘The vacxxes are safe ???
You can bet on one thing; the insurance companies are NOT idiots, and when the price for life insurance sky-rockets for those who have been jabbed, then the S…. will hit the fan !!!
And, all will begin to see that our leaders have duped us for their own profit !!!
Censorship is alive and well on CTH.
At his age (49), there could be many causes…including high blood pressure. But to say he’ll be back in the saddle within a month is more “hope for change” from the D-Rats. 6 months, minimum, in that job I’d think. Wishing him a full recovery…it’s never easy.
Another Biden lie ” You’ve (Mitch) always done exactly what you’ve said, you’re a man of your word. and you’re a man of honor.”
Sorry but, whatever it takes to stop un-American democrats. My grandchildren’s future matter much more than this leftist clown’s woes.
