Comrade citizens, in the first in nation development, Delta Airlines Corporation has announced it will begin fining non-vaccinated employees $200/month for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine. The fine will be deducted from the paycheck of Delta employees who are enrolled in their healthcare plan and not vaccinated.
This is a remarkable development and likely to begin a process we might see from other employers. If a company can fine an individual for their personal health decisions, it is only a short step to a company that can begin issuing financial penalties for weight, diet, or other health attributes.
(Bloomberg) – Delta Air Lines Inc. will impose a $200 monthly surcharge on employees who aren’t vaccinated against Covid-19, becoming the first major U.S. company to levy a penalty to encourage workers to get protected.
The new policy was outlined in a memo from Chief Executive Officer Ed Bastian, who said 75% of the carrier’s workers already are vaccinated. Increasing cases of coronavirus linked to a “very aggressive” variant are driving the push for all employees to get the shots, he said in the note to employees Wednesday.
The fee applies to employees in the airline’s health-care plan who haven’t received shots by Nov. 1. The company also will require weekly testing for employees who aren’t vaccinated by mid-September. (read more)
Previously, Delta Airlines announced that any new hired employee would be required to be vaccinated in order to be eligible for employment.
I love how you think. I said in an above post that all Delta employees should just call out sick for a couple of days and see how the President of Delta feels about that. Or maybe they call out in bunches on certain days. They could call in and say they feel like they have Covid and want to be cautious. I heard the Australian Truck Drivers are planning a massive blockage of major roads and I think it is going to start this coming weekend.

They do not want to punish the obese, diabetic, etc because they are mostly lefty tendencies. But those are conditions that cost insurance companies bigly. As usual, get the right (the unvaxxed) to pay for it.
The company I worked for had a spousal surcharge, a no-excercise surcharge and a smoking surcharge. German based company btw. This in addition to high premium to begin with. To avoid the no exercise surcharge one had to wear a monitoring wrist device and exercise socially.
I wonder if Delta’s upper management is exempt from the vaccine, just like White House, CDC, NIH, Pfizer, J&J, and Moderna are exempt? If so, what is their explanation for this ? OH Yeah, they don’t owe us an explanation!
The law in my state (MI), unless it has changed, has always been that an employer cannot deduct amounts from employees’ pay that are not legally authorized. Think of an employer turning workers into literal slaves by constantly imposing deductions from pay.
I can’t imagine that other states don’t have similar restrictions.
I can imagine some crummy Biden executive order or phony regulation trying to get around these laws. If this materializes, then you know they’re trying to turn everyone into serfs.

They are doing it this way because they’re at least smarter than the medical profession.
The medical profession is flat out firing people for not being vaxxed. Then they’re complaining that they don’t have enough personnel to staff their hospitals.
Duh.
At least Delta is smart enough to know that if they fire a third of their workforce they won’t be able to do business, so they’ve chosen an alternative method.
I’m fortunate. I make enough money that I could absorb $200 a month without too much trouble. Plenty of corners I could cut. It would be worth it to me to avoid getting a shot that I don’t trust. You can’t be devaccinated after they figure out that this wasn’t such a good idea after all.
That fact that you could absorb it isn’t the issue. It’s the government forcing vaccines on us without the government doing the forcing. You should be charged an extra $300 a month for making your own personal medical decisions. And if they do this, when do they start charging fat employes, smokers and alcoholic employees more?

I’m right with you use to spend thousands at Amazon a year now only if I have a need for something I can’t get elsewhere and Walmart use to spend thousands there a year. Delta will never be used by me again but they only lose a trip a year wish I could hit them worse.

So what’s the fine for those who get vaccinated and are constantly in the hospital missing work as we see variant after variant overcoming the current mRNA poison, requiring shot after shot? Financial risk, right? Oh wait, I get it now. We need the unvaccinated who chose natural immunity to pay for the financial risk of the vaccinated.
They’re trying to treat this like smokers v non smokers. Get your state to pass a law against charging non Vax, natural immunity people a higher life, health insurance premium than folks who got the deathjab.

Apparently facts don’t matter, bc viral loads of breakthrough variant infection cases are 251 times HIGHER in vaccinated, making them the superspreaders. And 2/3rds of covid deaths in the UK were vaccinated. Similar stats in Israel. Of course no one needs to be hospitalized if they’re able to receive inexpensive, effective early treatments.
