A rather interesting research discovery of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s previous statements reveals a motive for him to be so defensive now about supporting “gain of function” research. ‘Gain of Function’ is essentially researching how to weaponize lethal viruses to make them even more deadly as biological weapons.
Some in the scientific community claim the “gain of function” research actually helps to develop proactive vaccinations and mitigation against those lethal viruses. However, the risk of a virus getting out of a bioweapons laboratory and infecting people has always been present.
An article written in Australia [unfortunate paywall], discovers in 2012 Dr. Anthony Fauci was questioned about this exact scenario and he took the position: the benefits outweigh the risks of releasing a pandemic virus. Now that more evidence is surfacing showing the COVID-19 coronavirus was likely made in one of these bioweapons labs in Wuhan China, the previous statements by Dr. Fauci take on a new context.
In his congressional testimony around the same time in 2012, Fauci repeated his view that accidentally creating a global pandemic was worth the scientific risk.
In his testimony the term “dual use” research is essentially synonymous with “gain of function”. The dual aspect is (1) creating an antidote to the natural virus; and (2) weaponizing the virus as a bioweapon. The “gain of function” term is the actual process of creating the weaponized virus.

Once we realize that COVID-19 was actually a weaponized man-made virus; then it begs the question of whether a malicious actor with political intentions would purposefully release the virus. This type of query actually explains the vitriolic responses from Big Tech, corporate media and their benefactors, when the Wuhan lab leak theory first was discussed.

Here’s how I sum up what I’ve learned from reading articles on this whole mess.
GOF research creates viruses more dangerous than those that exist in nature with net zero benefit to date but undeniable deadly risks, as we all can now attest to. Fauci has a history of redirecting funds that results in less money for nature disease outbreaks which is a greater threat to public health. It’s one of the many reasons I wish they’d ban GOF and also because of Fauci’s history of being wrong, deadly wrong.
He’s nothing more than an over-rated, highly paid bureaucrat pushing paper & money around for his personal gain and pet projects. He’s directly responsible for funding the GOF research at the Wuhan lab with our tax dollars. I’m well aware diverting and deflecting is the operating modus in D.C., so they don’t fool me. I also know corrupt people live in the shadow of fear. They fear informed citizens and I never forget that either.
Just the mere thought of whether this was on purpose or accidental should be sufficient to outrage every American to the point of applying persistent and painful pressure on our representatives to investigate and remove Fauci immediately. Otherwise, we will remain accidental casualties in waiting.

I remember reading early in the pandemic reports of the numbers of people who traveled to the USA from the Wuhan region in the first couple of weeks after we knew about the virus. I remember being amazed at the number because it was in the thousands. The thought came to me that it was done on purpose because of those numbers.

In 72/73 I worked on a program testing the efficacy of biowarfare simulant detection equipment. The client was the US Army. We used S. Marcescens, Bacillus globigii and Aspergillis niger spores (sorry if misspelling). The Army worked with NIH. Given Fauci’s disposition and his length of service in the USG do you think he was involved? These bio simulants were tested in major US cities without knowledge of anyone except the handful of Army and NIH people.
