As I’ve said before, Ted Cruz is not to be totally trusted, not by just Trump but by Texans an all Americans.
Where he made his first mistake in my book was running for presidential election when he was ineligible to be president of America, since he was born in Canada. Will never believe that Cruz did not realize this since he even said that if Obama had was not born in America Obama would be ineligible to be president of America.
Then to top it off Cruz ran one of the dirtiest presidential campaigns of any Conservative that I’ve seen in decades.
Pray that Trump always keeps an eye on Cruz, for Cruz is not to be totally trusted.
I will take Cruz over a democrat any day. That said, what has he accomplished? 100% politician. Brilliant guy, but comes off completely self serving. Great at getting headlines that NEVER accomplish anything.

Trump structures deals as win-win. He’ll work with anyone willing to work for the better of the country. He taught us to fight and speak up. Next, he’ll teach us how to work difficult deals with impossible people. He did it in business and he did it in the White House. Amazed us all. Seems to me Ted Cruz was standing up to the entrenched GOP long before almost anyone else & wore his most disliked GOP Senator as a badge of honor even when McConnell & even President Trump used it against him. A comparison of Cruz to Romney won’t fly with me even though in general I’m on board with Sundance’s advice to trust no one. Senator Cruz’s political consistency is very different from Romney’s lack of any guiding principles but his own advancement.
Sen. Cruz was my original #1 pick in 2016 because I thought he was the true conservative in the bunch who had a chance of winning. President Trump won me over by standing firm on conservative values. I was very angry at Sen. Cruz when he failed to endorse candidate Trump at the 2016 RNC convention. I think Sen. Cruz has redeemed himself in many ways and I support him. He is not the most conservative member of the Senate, but if we had 51 Senators who held the same views, I would be satisfied with that.

I saw the real Ted (& Rubio) when they walked around Ben Carson at the Republican debate back during the 2016 campaign. My impression of him is clouded by that. If he votes the way I like, good but it doesn’t improve my overall trust in him.

There have been a few votes I disagreed with, but guess what, there were some statements and appointments President Trump made that I disagreed with too. We absolutely need people willing to take a stand, but expecting perfection isn’t reasonable. Senator Cruz is one of my senators. I write him when he votes poorly or is about to, and I let him know I support him when he is leaning in the “right” direction. He isn’t perfect but he is one of the better senators serving currently. He doesn’t back down from a fight. We need to encourage him in that area. And he blows my other senator, Cornyn out of the water, he IS a RINO.

Trump still only gets the surface but not the deep underpinnings of an argument. If he could avoid the repetitive -phrase speaking habit and only using superlatives when needed or deserved , that would make his speeches 10x better. Persuade the audience with why your position is better and then compare it with the flawed commie position. That is how it is done.

Trump has a good memory for disloyal people. He will never forget what Cruz did at that Republican Leadership convention in 2016, when he would not endorse Trump as the democratically selected leadership candidate for the GOP. Instead he told people to “vote their conscience” and then proceeded to be booed out of the convention.
I for one, will never forget that stab in the back, and neither will PDJT either, I’m sure. Cruz will always have to wear this sheepish smile around Trump in perpetuity now, for that petulant moment of grandstanding.
