The trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer accused of killing George Floyd, began today with opening arguments. Officer Chauvin has been charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man, who died in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Forensic evidence showed that George Floyd died from a “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression.” Other significant conditions were listed as “arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease; fentanyl intoxication; recent methamphetamine use.” (link)
A memorandum filed by the Hennepin County Attorney’s office on June 1 indicated that chief medical examiner Dr. Andrew Baker, who listed Floyd’s death as a homicide, thought the amount of fentanyl in Floyd’s blood was “pretty high” and could be “a fatal level of fentanyl under normal circumstances.” “[Dr. Baker] said that if Mr. Floyd had been found dead in his home (or anywhere else) and there were no other contributing factors he would conclude that it was an overdose death,” the memo said.
Opening statements began this morning. The trial in in recess until 12:15pm ET / 11:15am CT [Livestream Links Below]

Just Remember. Floyd Once Held A Gun To A Pregnant Woman’s Belly.
LET THAT SINK IN..
I’m six months pregnant right now. I get the full implications. I bet that woman, wherever she is, is not shedding any tears for this b@st@rd…
@Travis
So, by your standard, Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt deserved to be shot and killed by a cop since she had a criminal record.
Our legal system is designed to try people on their CURRENT actions. The past actions of Floyd and Babbitt are irrelevant.
Maybe not but they give an insight into the CHARACTER of the person being dealt with
Oh, get off your high horse. Floyd was complaining about not being able to breathe in the back of the squad car BEFORE they pulled him out and he fought the officers. At the time of the incident, a knee on the neck was Minneapolis PD POLICY to restrain an uncooperative detainee suspected of being under the influence of drugs. I would hate to be a police officer these days. You can be sued or charged for DOING YOUR JOB and then you have sanctimonious people like fred2w thinking it’s all right. At least his is still a small but shrill voice erupting from the bottom of a well at this site.
Our legal system was designed to fail.
Can I assume that ANTIFA and BLM destroying our cities and using Floyd’s death as an excuse is perfectly fine? Floyd served 5 years for armed robbery. He was a bum. His death is nothing more then an excuse to push the racial hatred button by the left.
Has anyone here read the autopsy report? I did.
Floyd was a full fledged pharmacological inventory, all of it let loose at one time within a single human body. And the stuff didn’t include aspirin and vitamins….
Yeah, I saw it linked on Jack Posobiec’s feed.
The overlords and cabals are playing divide and conquer.
Our side knows the reports, their side only shows the knee on neck video and whatever incidents the officer was involved in in the past.
Jack is legit, but FOX is in on the divide and conquer for ratings and helping the overlords control us right along with Lefty media.
Jack P is farrrrrr from legit.
Before his current gig He was a disinformation master.
Yep how do you MURDER somebody who is ALREADY DYING as a result of a FENTANYL OVERDOSE?
Keep the big picture in mind:
On 5/22/2020 Biden made his infamous “….then you ain’t black” gaffe, apologized that day, but kept getting hammered in the press. They were already rightly concerned that President Trump was going to get an unacceptably high percentage of the black vote.
JUST THREE DAYS LATER……
On 5/25/2020 the Floyd overdose video went out and the drumbeat for a diversion from Biden’s racism – in the form of violent race riots – began. . . Later to morph into an anti-Trump movement.
That was NOT a coincidence.
This was always about the left’s fear of losing some more of the black vote and them doing what they have previously done in Ferguson, Baltimore etc.
@Clivus Multrum
And the scheme worked brilliantly because many Trump supporters adopted a “Back the Blue” fanaticism following Floyd’s death and subsequent riots. This led to them adopting a “guilty into proven innocent” attitude to ALL Black people arrested or killed by cops.
The Biden campaign could now paint Trump supporters as racists who think due process doesn’t apply to Black people. After his (s)election, Biden then used the “guilty until proven innocent” tactic against Trump supporter, who were declared enemies of the state by Democrats, RINOs, and the media.
This guy (Floyd) was from Houston TX which is a city that has beyond serious drug problems and is living in Minneapolis. They found counterfeit $1 bills in a shipment at a MN port of entry. He was driving a Mercedes when he was arrested?
The police were supposedly called because he tried to pass two fake $10’s at a grocery store. I’m pretty sure this isn’t the first time he passed fake bills. The previous money he passed would have been detected at a bank after it was dropped off with the businesses daily deposits. The bank would have then called police who would look for finger prints or camera footage of who was in the store it came from. They knew about him before the incident where he was killed ever took place.
My guess is he was some kind of go between to move the drugs in Houston to Minneapolis and swap them for counterfeit money coming into MN. Once he started using some of the fake money himself he needed to be silenced and they took care of two problems with one act. They got rid of him and gave themselves an excuse to start race riots. Nobody has ever asked nor answered the question of where did the fake money come from? I doubt he made it himself.
The Chief Medical Examiner wrote in a “private” memo to the DA which was not initially disclosed to the defense that:
“Had George Floyd been found dead in his apartment the determination of cause of death by my office would be Fentanyl overdose”.
What else do you need to know!
Exactly. The Medical Examiner should never have reached a conclusion of homicide based on the autopsy findings alone. In my opinion, it was medical malpractice not to wait for the toxicology report. I hope the defense attorney is sophisticated enough to find an expert forensic pathologist to testify for Chauvin.
Something fishy here. I was in the Marine Corp long ago. We were trained in putting someone out via choke holds in boot camp, and we did it to one another. As I recall, 15 to 20 seconds and they were out. Nine minutes is a problem. He clearly was not blocking oxygen or blood to the brain for 9 minutes. Floyd would have been dead much sooner.
I have read reports that it is typical to suffocate as a part of fentanyl and/or methamphetamine overdoses. This was included in the original OFFICIAL autopsy IIRC.
Floyd went out at about the four and a half minute mark, but your point is still well taken.
I’ve been very focused on the autopsy. In my admitted ignorance, where the officer had his knee is critical. The amount of bruising should correlate with the amount of force used. If the officer ground his knee viciously is one thing, light to moderate force just to control is another.
John: the medical examiner who conducted the autopsy was interviewed by the FBI, the form FD302 is publically available. If I recall, he said there were three officers holding Floyd down at one point: one at the feet, one at mid-body and Chauvin at the top. The ME said there were no signs of excessive damage. Regarding Chauvin, he indicated that there were no broken bones in the neck and no signs of strangulation (e.g., petechiae). The ME also commented that the level of fentanyl in Floyd’s blood was higher than what he routinely sees. Collectively, I wonder if these are the reasons why the prosecutor and judge went for the re-introduction of a lower level charge during jury selection.
There was no bruising or injury of any type to the neck or trachea area according to the ME report.
Say what? New comment system.
Okay.. I don’t know how everyone feels but I don’t believe Chauvin needed to kneel on him for 9 mins.
I’d lie to see close ups of the kneeling: it’s very possible the weight of the leg was on the shoulder, not the neck, enough pressure to keep him from thrashing, which is what he was doing in the police car.
But he did. It was policy and he followed it well.
People in delirium are a threat to themselves, to arresting officers and to the general public. They must be safely restrained. And that was the PD’s policy. Furthermore, an approved restraining hold was used. One that was officially trained on. (The city and the PD have been trying to hide and obfuscate these details, but they still leaked out.)
It is understood and accepted that people in delirium can die from an OD. The hold doesn’t prevent this. The officers sought medical help for this man, and they kept him and everyone else safe from his delirium while waiting for that help. He was kept in the hold until the medical people were ready for him.
Unfortunately, the man died from a self inflicted overdose before medical help could be provided.
Also, the medical examiner wrote about his desperate search for deep bruising. Alas, that search was futile, so he could find no smoking gun, and just cobbled together some gobbledygook to make it look like the officer’s actions caused the death.
Yes, there was bruising. You are not really holding someone without bruising. But no deep bruising that would have been found if the hold actually was the cause of death.
Think about how well the officer performed his duty. He executed a hold to restrain a junkie in delirium for a very long time. Never giving an opportunity for escape by letting up on the hold, while also never overdoing the hold to cause harm or damage to the delirious junkie. A very difficult task.
The man’s self-inflicted death is a tragedy. But this trial is a travesty. Just blame shifting and scapegoating. And offering a sacrifice to the mob to wet it’s appetite for blood.
There is a lot I would still like to know. A lot of time passed while the officers were doing their job. It was difficult to get the junkie in the squad car. Then, after succeeding, partially due to the junkies own request, they took him back out.
In hindsight, this time was lost. The sooner aid could be provided, the better the junkie’s chances were. Eventually, the crowd situation required further delays in providing medical help.
Could aid have been provided before putting him in the car? Once in the car, could he have been driven to aid?
Not that the officers have blame for these events. The junkie has the blame. And the crowd that caused big delays in aid.
I would like to hear from the officer. But that would be a serious mistake by his attorneys. The prosecutors are already political hacks looking for scalps. Never throw the accused to such vicious hyenas or jackals.
I hope he has good competent defense attorneys. But I have no clue if he can get a fair trial. Trial should have been moved. Trial should have been delayed after the stunt of giving the family an award right before the trial. Wonder how many have lied to get themselves on the jury?
If the crowd delayed help, the crowd should also be charged with Floyd’s death.
At the time of the arrest, Minneapolis Police Department policy stated that when officers take into custody a suspect who exibits symptoms of ‘excited delerium,’ the officer has a duty to protect the suspect from harming himself by taking the suspect out of the police car, laying him on the ground, and restraining his movements until the ambulance arrives to transport the suspect to receive medical care. The neck-kneeling technique was specifically taught to officers as the way to restrain the suspect. The arresting officers strictly followed approved department procedure (and called for the ambulence more than once before it finally arrived). This is all shown in MPD Officer Training PowerPoint exibits filed in the court file.
The prosecution is arguing the officers should have refused to follow department procedure and theirrefusal means they either intended to kill the suspect or had such depraved minds that they did’t care if following procedure killed him; therefore, they are guilty of murder.
The video is not the crucial evidence. The training slides are the crucial evidence.
Chauvin had to restrain a 6’8″ 280lb violent career criminal who worked as a bouncer and was stoned out of his mind until the EMT arrived. Whether it was 6, 9 0r 15 minutes that’s choice was made by George Floyd!
Saint Floyd tried to dispose of remaining pills, in his mouth:
https://nationalfile.com/chauvin-defense-team-george-floyd-concealed-meth-and-fentanyl-pills-from-officers-in-his-mouth/
Based on what I’ve seen in media reports, Floyd was yet another black choir boy that found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Post the video of the appearance of George Floyd on the Judy Judy show several years before this incident. He was a thug.
That wasn’t him.
They (MSM and their money men) pick the stories that are divisive to elevate nationally to get the divisions and race wars going.
Don’t fall for it people. AND let everyone know that’s what’s up.
There are a LOT of REAL cases of police brutality everyone would agree on. There are a LOT more cases of the feds doing wrong. That’s one side.
On the other side:
Sometimes Twitter gets a story of a black young man gunned down and tries to elevate it but there’s so much evidence that the perp was a villain that no matter how hard these worked up kids try it the story kind of dies. The national media won’t pick it up.
For example, there was a young guy gunned down in D.C. and the activists were so mad they surrounded the mayor’s house looking for “justice” and all that.
But the kid had social media of himself and several friends with their AR 15’s in vehicles in D.C., playing rap music, etc.
National media quietly let it die on the vine in spite of how hard those kids in the streets marching on the mayor tried.
WHY is it EVERY story that is elevated to national prominence ALWAYS has the same issue where there is a mountain of evidence favoring law enforcement and yet a lot of ways you can anger black people who have no idea why they are stuck in Democrat voter fraud murder ghettos and are quite angry in general?
“Engagement”
They WANT the stories that have TWO angry, riled up sides going at it on Facebook, Twatter, and their news sites before the elevate them to do damage to us all.
If they wanted to let you know the TRUTH then in a story like this after their edited knee on neck video they would have let the angry kids find out about the fact that Fentanyl Floyd clearly died of pre existing conditions coupled with the Chinese-Mexican pharmacy of three and possibly more drugs capable of killing a horse he’d just ingested.
Truth is not what the overlords are after.
Tim Pool and Scott Adams have come close to describing this but not fully and someone needs to.
So every one of these cases PUSHED on us by national media is designed to be bogus so we’ll be at each other’s throats. They get clicks and views for really dying media on life support.
And the overlords keep us from unifying which is all we need to do to get out from under their BOOT.
They are TRYING to divide us on purpose.
UniParty media fake fights (so this trial is going to help dying FOX noise AND dying CNN/MSNBC), UniParty politician fake fights, and overlords who are a small group of paper dragons need us divided by any means necessary to rape our treasuries and control us.
Don’t fall for it and let everyone know that is what they are doing to us.
Also I might add in entertainment Ryan Long and Tom McDonald have both come really close to exposing this too.
Floyd died of a drug overdose and said many times before the police touched him (I can’t breath) I studied Karate and Judo for 50 years and the police officer was not hurting him just holding in a manner that looks not os good….. The truth is if Floyd did not resist arrest and ask for medical attention he might be alive today.. The real crime was the media and the Judge who gave the parents 7 million dollars for their terrible raising of George Floyd.
That would be the city council, who awarded 27 million to the family to settle their wrongful death suit.
Best known as winning the Ghetto Lottery.
And doing so BEFORE the trail had even taken place is a sure sign of the PRE JUDGED RESULT they want
Just a brief reminder: The finding of homicide in a medical examiner’s report does not equate with murder. ME cause of death findings fall into one of five categories: Natural, accident (death by misadventure), suicide, unknown, or homicide (which is simply any death another person is involved in). Death from an act of self defense by another, for example, would be listed as a homicide. Not withstanding the efforts of the prosecution to muddy the waters today, a finding of homicide isn’t a finding that any crime was committed.
How do you MURDER somebody who is ALREADY DYING as a result of a FENTANYL OVERDOSE?
Particularly interesting is the report that Floyd fell asleep in his car after ingesting two pills that may have contained a combination of fentanyl and meth. The combination of those ingredients, kicking in at slightly different times, could have produced precisely the effects exhibited and also the blood pressure and heart related impacts that killed him. Since the prosecution is claiming he’d have dozed off if he had a fentanyl overdose, the defense needs to keep pounding the fact that a mix of fentanyl and meth, which appears to be what he had on board, combined with his thoroughly documented preexisting condition would have produced exactly the behavioral and medical consequences he exhibited.
I pray to God that Chauvin is acquitted.
Can’t wait to see how the Xiden-Harris administration deals with the ensuing riots errrrrrrrrrrrr I mean mostly peaceful protests.
P.S. On second thought, those people will probably riot regardless of the outcome of the trial. Any excuse for free TVs and sneakers.
The country needs to be prepared for another season of riots, and it is likely that Soros has already hired the actors and placed the ordnance. This time it will be a pretext for gun confiscation, domestic passports and a permanent police state instead of a means of destabilizing the country and stealing the election; an America convulsed by civil disorder would also be in no position to do anything about a Chicom seizure of Taiwan or annexation of Hong Kong. Quite apart from the problem that even Roland Freisler, Andrei Vishinsky or Cotton Mather would be hard-pressed to prove premeditated murder, it is likely that the anarchists, communists and black supremacists will explode unless the defendant is found, as in “The Producers”, “incredibly guilty” of Murder One and executed in the courtroom like an estranged relative of Kim Jong-un. European-Americans, heterosexuals, English-speakers and Christians need to be prepared for the planned pogroms that will follow any verdict unsatisfactory to the mob as surely as Kristallnacht followed the shooting of Ernst vom Rath by Herschel Grynzspan in 1938. Down with the dictatorship! Biden (and race-exploiters) delenda est!
George Floyd committed suicide.
Floyd served 5 years for armed robbery and the Democrats lionize him. ANTIFA and BLM riot and destroy our cities. Don’t forget that we are getting screwed by the Dems. Fight them at every turn.
Fentynal Floyd has been drug free for 10 months now…Jus sayin
The real problem is that if ……they say we as whites cannot understand racism…………we are not allowed to comment on a black issue…………we have been taking advantage of slavery even though we have never seen a slave………………..its only Black Lives that matter……….. We are blamed for every single thing that black society has brought on itself…………… and 27 million has been paid to this guys family…………..
How on earth is this police officer going to get a fair trial……How???
Watching the trial.
The MMA trained witness was avoiding admitting that the “blood choke” and its variants puts pressure on both carotid arteries but not on the trachea. Floyd could talk – no pressure on the trachea. Chauvin’s knee was not on the right carotid but behind and the ground cannot constrict the carotid.
The minors’ testimonies are of no probative value but emotionally prejudiced against the defendant. At best , all they can testify to is the already conceded fact that Chauvin had his knee on Floyd, about the emotional and angry crowd causing the environment to be tense. Nothing else.
Hansen is another witness that is there to emotionally prejudice the defendant. At best, s an experienced EMT, all she can address is the lack of compression or first aid given to Floyd.
Of course, that is not on the police officers but on the EMTs that put Floyd on the stretcher.
By the end of the 9 minute video, I wanted to choke him. Actions have consequences and his behavior caused his demise. When a police officer tells you to follow his directions, comply.
