Texas Governor Greg Abbott has exposed a little more blue than prior to the COVID fiasco; and now he will likely face several Republican primary challengers in the next election. That said, today Governor Abbott was on television discussing the crisis at the U.S. Southern border with Mexico.
One of the data-points that Abbott shares comes via the Rio Grande Valley sector. In 2020 there was a total of 90,000 illegal border crossing apprehensions. So far this year there have been 110,000 apprehensions and over 800 of them were criminal aliens previously convicted of crimes in the U.S.
Human trafficking is a major source of funding for Mexican cartels, and they are now storming the border in an effort to overwhelm the Border Patrol. Additionally, various foreign nationals, from all over the globe, are also paying the cartels for transit into the United States.
Oh, Abbott- another big talker with no (real) action. Virtue signals by sending the NG to the border… but doesn’t actually let them do anything.

someone I know’s truck was robbed last night of a lot of very expensive work-tools. They file a report.
A bit later another deputy calls & asks this person to describe the tools. It’s a match.
Turns out that deputy had chased down a couple dudes suspected in another burglary. The car they were in was a STOLEN vehicle too. The missing tools were in it. The car was impounded. (Nice LE work!)
However the deputy tells this person the DA would not let him arrest the suspects!! Never mind all the evidence of multiple crimes!
The deputy further explains, “we had this one DA for 30y, but there’s a new one just elected. It’s a Democrat, so… !” ?
(I find this extra funny b/c that’s exactly what my youngest says when someone annoys him- “I bet they’re a Democrat!?”)
Meanwhile, the victim did manage to locate another suspect hiding in the woods (In all black & hoody), claimed to be “waiting for a ride”-lol. Guess he got left behind. He said he “dindunuffin!” One toolbox just happened to be recovered nearby in the bushes.
When this exchange was relayed to the 2nd deputy, he said “you know what we call that in our line of work… A Clue.”?

It’s not just Texas facing a poop-storm of trouble due to open borders. I live in southern AZ. Things began to deteriorate badly in AZ from +-2004 through 2016. Drug trafficking, human trafficking, crimes associated with open borders, and small enclaves of drug cartels interspersed along the interstate highways from Nogales through Tucson, Casa Grande up through Phoenix and beyond. By “enclaves”, I mean encampments of armed drug runners were ( and probably are, once again) ensconced in hills in rural areas. Military style. It’s not safe to go hiking and camping in certain areas of Arizona!
Crimes associated with open borders: vehicle theft, drugs, human trafficking, general theft and robbery, etc. Prudent people don’t drive through certain parts of town for obvious reasons.
Then, our county tax rates sky-rocket in order to pay for all costs of feeding, housing, clothing and medicating the so-called “undocumented migrants”. I live in a socialist-progressive county…our property taxes are much higher than those in Maricopa County.
As drugs flood our neighborhoods, general crime rates increase dramatically. …like in 2008-2016.
Gov Grabbit needs to go. He claims to be Republican, but he is NOT conservative.
Abbot is a RINO. The day they load up C-130s with the intruders and take the first 10 plane loads to rich blue areas like, say, Connecticut, Vermont & Rhode Island is the day this stops.
