Folks sure do need to wake up and stop voting for politicians and policies that will hurt their own bottom line. Low info voters turn to lamestream sources and social media to inform their opinions and it shows.

I live in Texas and have been door knocking for the Republican Party. John Cornyn is running for his seat again. When we ask the voters if they know who Cornyn is, I bet 95% of them don’t know who he is. I’ll ask them if they know who Ted Cruz is and they all say they know Cruz. The ladies I walk with, we all agree Cornyn needs to be replaced. I don’t know how these RINO’s get re-elected time after time. In the primary, there were quite a few candidates running for the Republican Senate seat. I’m guessing the Republican RINO’s put candidates in the primary to split the vote to get him elected. If I didn’t have to vote for him, I wouldn’t.
Voting straight ticket, or name recognition, are the two possibilities that spring to mind. People may not be able to tell you when asked who Cornyn is, but may recognize his name when they see it on a ballot next to a name they absolutely don’t know.
Normalcy bias and incumbency bias are synonymous. It is difficult to primary out a bad actor for the reasons mentioned. The solution is to term limit them out and yes, that means good actors have to go as well – but there are good actors in the wings as well. Term limits keeps us from being perpetually stuck with the bad ones. Support the Convention of States!

This COVID thing has dominated our lives for nearly all this year. People have died, some unnecessarily as far as I’m concerned, people have lost their jobs, livelihoods. People are suicidal. Children have missed out on school, socialising etc., other people have missed out on necessary medical treatment. The left have been maniacal in the things they have done and said and all the time President Trump has steadfastly continued to implement his promises and try to move the country forward. We are now one month away from the most important election in my lifetime, and I’m pretty old. At the last rally I remarked to my husband that the President looked tired, didn’t have the usual spring in his step.
The President has tested positive for this thing that has ruined and taken so many lives. He will be fine, he has the best medical care available and he has the opportunity to rest, rejuvenate and take stock. The Democrats are apoplectic that the news cycle has been taken away from them. He will return refreshed in a couple of weeks, ready to be re-elected on 3rd November.
The best thing supporters in America can do is get out there, fund raise, doorknock and spread the word. If I lived there it’s what I would be doing.

I saw a Biden ad yesterday that said he would lower drug prices. POTUS already doing it. If by some nefarious miracle Biden is elected he would take credit for everything POTUS has done – jobs, health care, drug prices, economy.
FWIW, when I buy durable goods I do a quick search of the internet for “American made”. I bought my American made dinnerware directly from the company that way. Bypass Bezos. Even if it costs more, a dinnerware set last a long time so figure your spreading the costs out.
I haven’t bought from Amazon in a while and will always buy elsewhere (locally if possible, made in America if possible). No desire to help Bezos and his ilk in any way.
We should not celebrate the Jones act. It is the reason so few commercial ships are registered in the USA. If you are an American flagged vessel, you must conform to all US regulations reducing your competitive edge. Also the US Government can order you to deliver cargo to dangerous places such as Somalia.
That doesn’t seem fair; even the police consider Somalia, Minnesota to be a no-go zone.
FAR more to the point since it’s nearly impossible to “buy American” for the most part: DON’T BUY MADE IN CHINA whenever possible and that means DON’T buy that new HDTV, smart phone, laptop, etc. EVER unless the one you already own fails.
Will that not only hurt China, but also the formerly American multinationals who are only loyal to the buck? Yes, but it’s the only message they understand. China is a mortal enemy that needs to be economically DESTROYED while we still can.
Do I think the majority of Americans will realize this and boycott Chinese products as much as possible? Nope. They need to be TOLD, but owned government and media will never let that happen.

If I can’t get made in America, I will shop around until, at the very least, it ISN’T made in China. It usually costs me a few more dollars but I’m cool with that.
