Gallup – […] Independents are usually much more likely than Republicans or Democrats to favor a third political party, but in the current poll, Republicans are nearly as likely as independents to hold this view, 63% to 70%. That represents a dramatic shift for Republicans since last September when 40% favored a third party.

Obviously there is a lot to contemplate on this issue. However, one of the key points to the formation of a third party is a cleansing of the state-by-state political apparatus.
As previously mentioned – If President Trump takes that army into a new political party of his choosing, that new party is structurally set to lay waste to any candidate within both wings of the Democrat and Republican assembly. A Trump inspired new political party can wipe out the illusion of the Democrat/Republican two-party system; specifically because much of the Trump movement consists of former democrats and brand new voters.

According to the Washington Post, President Trump raised about 1/2 Billion dollars for the RNC for 2019 and still had 200 Million going into 2020.

I reject your premise; R Senators did not.vote to convict PDJT either time, because he was a REPUBLICAN, they voted to aquit because there was obviously no VALID reason to convict, THEY knew it, and the people knew it.
An unwarranted impeachment against a SECOND (REAL) party (America First) POTUS, especially one who had been elected with clear majority, and who had done NOTHING to warrant impeachment, would also result in aquittal in the Senate.
Remember, House impeachment is analogous to a grand jury indictment, and you can indict a ham sandwich.
One reason indictments are so easy (in comparison to guilty verdicts) is cause the grand jurors know they aren’t sending anyone to jail.
The jurors, ina trial have a far greater responsibility, because they ARE sending someone to jail.
Same principle applies, in an impeachment.
Main difference is, in a Senate trial its not REALLY the Senators that are the jury; its the American people.
IF the American people are convinced the POTUS is guilty, they can vote to convict, if the American people are convinced the POTUS is NOT, the Senate CAN NOT vote to convict.
THAT, and not the party of the POTUS, is why PDJT was aquitted both times, and assuming he/she did nothing wrong, and was popular as a result of following America First policies, no SECOND party POTUS would have to fear impeachment.

Sundance, I’m fully on board. Much discussion/debate has centered on restoring/redefining the GOP vs a viable third party. The argument against a third party has been that two previous attempts(one involving Ross Perot) were unsuccessful. My thoughts are that we cannot arrive at a broad conclusion, and instead, should look at the people involved and the circumstances. Perot was not prepared to discuss issues and he ruined any viable chance he had with his VP selection…it was embarrassing. The other attempt involved a senator from Illinois,(cannot recall his name), who wore a bow tie and had the charisma of Mr Rogers.
The circumstances are entirely different. We have witnessed first hand of what a bold Patriot, with charisma, passion and one who speaks unvarnished truth can do. The electorate has also seen the revolting, ugly truth of The Uniparty…the sucking of wealth and jobs from our country, supporting China, while lining their pockets. Yes, to achieve this there will be some losses, but this is war not a single battle. We have to undertake this objective or else our country will fall under de-facto one party rule with the Democrats always winning while the GOP presents token opposition. I’ve always been an advocate for taking over the GOP but I’m thinking it may be irredeemable at this point. I would be on board here in Northern Virginia working for a third party apparatus. We have to wait for President Trump to make that call. We can’t do it without him.

In dealing with Senator McConnell, President Trump and his MAGA army can make good use of the book, Rules for Radicals, Saul Alinsky. As for McConnell, the 13th rule is primary:

“One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen,’ despite the complexities of the interrelated nature of the [bureaucracy.]”

From his new position as citizen, Former President Trump can sit back, and second-guess every single move that McConnell makes. Imagine sending out similar messages, two or three times a week, pointing out his mistakes, reminding everyone of McConnell’s corruption, and pointing out how he is hurting the American people.
This could initiate a whole army of researchers into McConnell’s sordid past, and these “digital warriors” reporting on all his dirty laundry for the rest of the time McConnell is in the Senate. The potential effects could be devastating to McConnell. It could reach a point where the rest of the Republican Senators would be afraid to deal with McConnell or follow his lead, because of the revelations being made.
This could be a beautiful thing . . .

Congress is the biggest problem “we the people” have right now. It is obvious that THEY installed Joe Biden even though they knew about the voter fraud, the election fraud, and all the corrupt and illegal activities that conspired to put Biden in the White House. They used the Jan 6 event as an excuse to deny us the ability to investigate the claims made by many people, and they turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to their constituents requests to investigate before certifying.
I believe the crowd that came to DC to support President Trump frightened them – they suddenly realized how much they are despised by the people, and they determined to shut us down and show us the power they have; which is why they voted to certify their puppet.
As Sundance often quotes, different wings of the same bird. We have to do something about the election fraud otherwise we will never have a say again, and before we elect a MAGA president, we have to recall and/or primary as many of those corrupt bastards we can. They must go.
Because we are all disenfranchised. The big club selects the candidates not we the people. They have demonstrated the lengths that they will go to destroy alternatives and cheat to keep power. Pox on both parties. I’m done with “this is the most importantest election ever!” crap.
I am of two minds about forming a third party. First of all, it’s pretty clear that what passes for “leadership” amongst the DC political class, and sadly, in far too many of our states, has failed the American people. They seem to want to surrender faster than a French soldier did in 1940.
However, looking at it from a practical standpoint, I don’t think a third party can be viable. There are a number of reasons for this. However, the biggest reason is that the political infrastructure of the states actively discourage third parties.
One major issue for a third party is ballot access. I’m not just talking about Presidential elections, either. We’ve have third, fourth, and fifth, etc… parties for Presidential elections for years. But, even in our biggest states, none of them manage to win more than a few thousand votes. One reason is because these parties generally only run Presidential candidates. You need to run candidates on all of the down-ballot races too. I’m talking about US Senator, US House of Representatives, Governor, other statewide offices, your state legislature, and all the way down to city councils and school boards.
The deck is stacked against a third party doing this. Most states have ballot access laws that give ballot access to parties whose candidates got a certain percentage of votes in the last election, usually for governor. These laws put onerous requirements on anyone else who wants on the ballot, usually in the form of signatures on petitions. And, they require a different petition for each office. Imagine having to collect signatures on a telephone book’s worth of petitions. People aren’t going to do it. Their hand would wear out before they get done.
Secondly, the signatures on these petitions are subject to rigorous vetting. If the signatures on all of those mail-in ballots were subject to the same conditions and vetting as these petitions are, there is no way the election could have been stolen as it was.
So, what to do? I think the best path forward is to take over the Republican party as the left has taken over the democrats. Rid the party of the RINOs. Primary all but a few Republican senators and congressmen and force reform on the party. They aren’t going to like it, but there it is.
I don’t usually do this but I will throw my caveat out here for all to pick on.
Caveat: the more you split the vote the more it is diluted. The more it is diluted, the more you need “coalitions” to govern. The more you have coalitions, the more you have to compromise. And the Dimms KNOW this. And they are very good at it.
This might not be all bad if everyone is clustered around the center of the political spectrum. Where we stand now there is just no such coalition that would work.

a third party would be a disaster. you lose the two party system you lose majority rule. there needs to be an organized concerted effort by conservatives to co-opt one of the two political parties. look at what the justice democrats have done to the democrat party. a maga movement should be able to a whole lot more.
I believe it’s time for Trump to call out all Americans who are interested in restoring this country to greatness. Any nationally elected republican has a choice. You are with us the American people or you side with the turtle. If they choose the decepticons then good luck. Remember that we will not fund or vote for you. We all have to make choices. At 73 I’ve known longer than most on this site that we’ve been deceived for to long by both parties. We either move now or continue along this pathway. There are 80 million of us and Biden will deliver another 20. I for one will never vote for a Rino again. I will never contribute another dime at any level.
What is the point of having the discussion whether to Primary all Rinos or start a third party. That question would only be relevant if you thought the 2020 election was fair. There is no chance in hell that the Democrats will fix the system when they won’t even allow you to even say the election was stolen. Unless God steps in we have no hope.
This has to be ground up BEFORE we take back the white house in 2024. Ground up is the only way to “tighten” the election laws and truly ensure justice at the ballot box.
We have to hit 50% to win as well in the general elections at all levels. Even if we don’t have full control once we get the GOP to take a stand either with us or against us they are done either way.

Maybe it’s both–a MAGA movement and a Patriot (or whatever name) party. We have to win seats on both sides initially to prevent either party (Repubs or Dems) from having a majority. That gums up the works for the 46* administration to do much harm. We can choose to support a decent Republican and for strong blue districts even put up a moderate candidate in the Dem primary and vote for them. Forget Queensbury, this is no rules warfare (except we don’t cheat). Instead of a bluedog Democrat–we become a MAGA Democrat or a MAGA Republican or we win outright with our third party candidate when strong enough. The issue is not party but ideals—policies that make America great and the loyalty is to God and country (MAGA movement ideals). Once elected, our candidates go rogue within the Repub or Dem party supporting MAGA first. It’s complex and confusing but that’s actually an advantage. Part open part secret–we now are the spies amongst the corrupt.
How many Decepticons do you suppose there are in the House and Senate combined, 250 or so? How many Trump supporters, 75 million or so? Perhaps the Swamp Critters ought to be the ones forming their own party. We’ll just take over the Republican Party because we already have. They can shoulder the expense of forming a new party. We’ve got a party ready made. Why should we be the ones to leave? Third party candidates are in weak positions and if elected President have no allies in Congress. Kick the RINOs out of the Republican Party. Censure them. Primary them. Don’t donate to them. Hound them so much they will want to leave the party.
As a registered independent I am 1000% for another party…Left the GOP way back and voted for Trump as one who was an outsider, businessman and not afraid to buck the system. He didn’t need to become a politician to make his millions, he already made his money through hard work and using his brains, unlike the political class today, they come in poor and leave as multi-millionaires.
