Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced today his administration will start confronting the manipulation of Big Tech and their control over speech. In addition to outlining the bias now brutally obvious, DeSantis outlined measures including a ban on the censorship of political candidates, and mandatory opt-outs of content filters for citizens of the Sunshine State.
“What began as a group of upstart companies from the west coast has since transformed into an industry of monopoly communications platforms that monitor, influence, and control the flow of information in our country and among our citizens, and they do this to an extent hitherto unimaginable.”
DeSantis also outlines the sales of consumer data by Big Tech providers and the absence of any control over privacy. This is a great presentation and press conference.
The likely 2024 leading candidate field still looks like this….
DeSantis – closest to MAGA
Noem – MAGAlite with a twist of Koch
Haley – Entrenched Establishment DeceptiCon (RNC favorite)
Cruz – Manipulative and controlled opposition
Very nice except…unless Election Fraud is stopped, any candidate is irrelevant.
First steps first: HOW do we stop election fraud, when the criminals are currently in charge of the election?
Agreed. The great question of the day.
But De Santis did stop the fraud in FL.
So in 2016 Hillary had a vote stuffer in Palm Beach. She was so bad we caught her. But De Santis fired her and got FL so well under control Dems had to move their operation to 6 other states (if a Dem gets FL that’s all they need, if not they need a lot more which they did do).
But he’s in power.
How do you do it out of power?
I know some ways but I don’t see anybody getting on them.
Fired
HAHAHAHAHA!
Good one!
Each area region needs to be tackled separately. Candidates need to declare for a race and file a lawsuit as soon as they can in order to challenge unconstitutional laws. I can’t file suit in GA as an AL resident. It’ll take local candidates to challenge the methods in each state.
We must do this in order to prevail. We know what they’ll do and we know the laws they’ve violated. No sense wasting anytime to think they’ll behave next time.
To think they almost got Gilliam elected!!! What a travesty that would have been.
yes that was a close one. phew
ditto that
The opposition on the Dem side will start going after DeSantis early.
Did the $15 minimum wage Fl constitution amendment have no manipulation? Who would have “standing” to challenge? Not sure the digital hacking did not touch Fl.
People making $19/hr in jobs requiring professional skills and accountability are pizzered off over that stupid amendment!
This is a right to work state. People voted with their wallets (which will come back to bite them). It is a gradual change, doesn’t kick in yet.
Yes Gaetz jumped on a plane videoing the ballots and it may have been Scott that fired the election supervisor in Dade. (If I remember) The states have to take back their power
Thank you for your comments and to all the above writers.
If local control over elections can be maintained in areas not yet controlled by fraud-sponsoring DEMS, and if it can be regained in areas (with honest judges?) where the DEMS are in control, that would be a start.
We see, however, in Pennsylvania how the game was rigged from the top down: it was not just in Philadelphia. Outside of tar and feathers, how can Conservatives restore honesty to such a state’s elections?
I’m certainly no expert but didn’t the Secretary of State step down in PA? My hope is more people will realize they can do the job as well or better and start stepping up or work directly behind the scenes.. I think there are still challenges going forward (VOTER FRAUD). We just can’t give up. I spent some time in free speech f/b pages and watched, you can’t change minds there and can waste a lot of time. Conflict is dysfunctional. Rolling up sleeves going to work will move the chains. Just be happy Hillary wasn’t 45.
Supposedly had to do with failing to advertise a passed amendment, not anything to do with the voting disaster. The Gov there even came out and stated that. If you’re hoping for someone in those states to take responsibility, you’re gonna be waiting a long time. Pretty pleased with our Gov here to date.
Conservatives must win as many of the top executive positions in state government as possible. The DemoCommunists for years have been taking over states by progressively winning local seats then seats in state legislatures but then also in positions like State AG, State Supervisor of Elections etc.
But…we have to win governorships. That OUGHT to be somewhat more feasible now that state populations have seen firsthand the tyranny of DemoCommie Governors re. coronavirus lockdowns and restrictions.
The covid-based tyranny coupled with blatant disregard for the damage caused directly by unchallenged BLM-Antifa riots should be used as a political weapon in every local campaign where those issues hurt the population.
Well said.
Would like to add that people should ‘question’ their local republican politicians (state reps and state senators) and appeal to these politicians’ ambition.
I.e., Your a fine state senator, would like to see you hold a statewide office, but how can that happen without ‘honest’ elections, without election reform? ?
At the point of a gun?
ron desantis took care of that in florida…broward and palm beach fraudsters were nullified and trump won by 3 1/2 percent. and he got rid of scott israel too, the fraud sheriff responsible for the parkland massacre
2ND step term limits its the only way to get criminals out of Washington.
I was just about to email a link from a local station. but you are on it!! I am so happy we have DeSantis and not that methhead. It was a close call. There are still loud mouths calling him as well as Matt Gaetz names. He is continuing to push back!
“What began as a group of upstart technology companies from the west coast has since transformed into an industry of monopoly communications platforms that monitor, influence, and control the flow of information in our country and among our citizens,” DeSantis said.
DeSantis cited former President Donald Trump’s removal from Twitter while still in office as a reason for his stance. He also brought up restrictions put on social media app Parler.
“Used to be that consumers were trusted to make their own decisions about what information to consume, about which leaders to ‘follow,’ about what news to watch,” DeSantis said. “Now those decisions are increasingly made by nameless, faceless boards of censors.”
The removal of Trump from Twitter followed the Jan. 6 riots by Trump supporters at the US Capitol. Facebook and YouTube invoked similar actions against Trump.
Twitter said Trump was permanently suspended “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”
DeSantis said he believes these moves allow Big Tech to “manipulate” news content and design algorithms to favor the candidates of their choice.
“That’s why in Florida we’re gonna take aim at those companies and pull back the veil and make sure those guys don’t continue to find loopholes and grey areas to live above the law,” DeSantis said. “Under our proposal, if a technology company de-platforms a candidate for elected office in Florida during an election, that company will face a daily fine of $100,000 until the candidate’s access to the platform is restored.”
Florida House Speaker Chris Sprowls said that legislation in Florida will target Facebook, Twitter, Google, Amazon and Apple.
When asked if he believed Trump’s claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, DeSantis said:
Sure is an easy psy-op when you control the media and they control you.
I think more people are looking at the media with an eyeroll and are being able to see the spin.
“Under our proposal, if a technology company de-platforms a candidate for elected office in Florida during an election, that company will face a daily fine of $100,000 until the candidate’s access to the platform is restored.”
THIS is the next GOP POTUS candidate…..he FIGHTS, he’s SMART and he doesn’t take trash and speaks back but in a more professional way. He doesn’t get pushed around and he doesn’t take the press crap and bow down and will turn their crap right back on them………AT LEAST HE’S A FIGHTER; not a weak-kneed GOP’er like everyone else in that sorry party.
I have watched him many times doing Pressers and he does not take any shit from them. He is just like Trump, but not as crass at times.
Must not speak “crassley” the traitors and the ds!
I really don’t think President Trump has been crass outside of his hugely attended rallies where everyone (that I could see) absolutely LOVED his “crass” sarcasm.
Plus, I’ll take a crass truth teller ANY DAY over a polite liar.
I will miss the crass but DeSantis has the MAGA attitude so what’s not to like.
I will say that DeSantis DOES THINGS, good things.
He’s not a mere talker.
DeSantis/Noem 2024!
I think we have the pretty obvious successor to PDJT in 2024 if he doesn’t run again. Who will be DeSantis’ running mate is the only question then. Not sure who that would be just yet.
Agree, 100%. Got to pull Fl, Tx to ever have a chance.
Texas AG Paxton!
Ron would also make a great VP running mate for Trump is he runs again, but am sure the RNC will be pushing for the 2024 to be more diverse
If he is any good we need Trump to endorse him for whatever his next step is. Psycho ex girlfriend Ann Coulter is doing her best to get her claws in him which is the kiss of death.
But FL can be turned into California any day, which ends the country for us so I’d like him to continue cleaning up FL for awhile.
Do you mean Coulter had a relationship with DeSantis?
Back to paper ballots.
“The likely 2024 leading candidate field still looks like this….”
This is assuming we even have a country at that time.
That will not be the case if the Globalist oligarchs have their way. The current illicit and corrupt occupiers of the Executive branch of our Republic are giving them everything they want.
And Niki Haley is wearing the cross. It’s sickening to see that. These evil people who wear religion around their necks, to manipulate voters.
The only one there is Desantis. Cruz is a liar and the others lack stature.
As a past Cruz supporter I have to agree.
Cruz is all hat and no cattle.
DJT could take over the FL governor’s job if he wanted to – although it might be too small an arena for him.
Florida’s current problems are Florida politicians trying to entice Wall Street firms to make the move from New York to Florida, which ends up exporting New York values to Florida.
From my point of view, Big Tech is much more willing to move to Texas rather than all the way to Florida so DeSantis is missing the forest for the trees by confronting the nonexistent Big Tech in his state.
Rather, DeSantis should confront the anti-conservative bias and censorship already present in certain banks, Wall Street firms, and online payments system like PayPal because banks and online payments systems censor conservatives, too, not just Big Tech.
Texas is the one that actually needs to take a stand against Big Tech while Florida needs to be the one to take a stand against “Big Bank” since Wall Street is more likely to move to Florida rather than Texas.
Big tech is everywhere.
Florida’s real problem is people moving there who take their Far Left politics with them.
I don’t think he’s trying to get big tech here. He’s representing Floridians and showing the rest of the states how it’s done.
.
.
This video made my day! I pray that it goes beyond words and comes to actual fruition. I won’t hold my breath on this becoming nationwide because too many (Democratic) governors seem to embrace the current censoring going in by Big-tech. P.s., if Trump is living in Florida, maybe with their proposed legislation in place he can fund a platform to reach out to the public square freely again….
Great to see a truly effective and constitutional governor at work. I get to watch the exact opposite at work, Newsom–
I like DeSantis more everyday. I hope he can stay strong and not let the club get to him.
Florida is fortunate to have him. Of course they had to kiss alot of frogs first.
I know I’ve been a broken record on this . BUT!!….
Let DeSantis finish his full run as Gov. of Florida.
THEN the rest of the US can have him.
Understand your feelings here but if called he should run.
I love, love, love De Santis. But……we cannot put our trust in politicians. 2024 is a long way off, and who knows what is going to happen between now and then. I pray that De Santis is faithful to his oath of office and the Constitution. Because too many politicians have betrayed us.
So far so good.
Hell right!
Love my Governor
FL is keeping him as long as we can.
I second that Rebelchick!
Sic ‘Em Governor Ron! WE The Citizens of Florida have had enough!
Clean elections will become Donald Trump’s mantra. Watch
my gov ron desantis is solid choice for 2024…he has the right angles
I would rather see DeSantis President of the Florida- Texas Republic
Okay, I like the suggestion of DeSantis for President and Trump for Governor of Florida.
It suggests a profitable symbiosis.
Trump has earned a comparatively less stressful job if he is inclined to take it.
Really feel DJT would be bored with that.
Just putting this out here.
Newsmax going the way of Fox News/Business now.

DeSantis – Noem 2024 You saw it here first!
Actually Noem is leaning RINO.
I can’t believe the number of people on here that would still vote for DeSantis or others in the GOPe UniParty who are owned by their donors, the GOPe (the party they belong to) and lobbyists. Have we not learned anythng from President Trump? There aren’t any Republicans who should ever be trusted and the only reason Trump was able to get anything done is because he’s rich and he owed nothing to anyone except to those who voted him into office. Thank Goodness Voting Doesn’t Matter Any More Because VOTERS are STUPID!
You’re right, yohio, we should just let the Democrat win. Cuz #AllRepublicansBad.
Heck, we could have had a drug addicted Globalist Puppet here in FL. for Gov. if we’d done that a few years back.
The whole State would’ve been shut down w/ Covid Madness if only we’d made that choice to not vote R. a few years back and millions more would be unemployed. No going to the beach for fresh air and sunshine cuz….too dangerous.
Sounds like Heaven on Earth!!!!
If it’s not obvious, I’m being sarcastic.
You do you, but don’t expect everyone else to be as knee jerk emotional when it comes to Really.Serious.Things.
While we’re at it, we could get rid of Gaetz, too!!!
Bet there’s a Really.Good Dem or RINO choice that could be shoved into his district if we all refuse to vote!!!
Again…./s
Sunnydaze sadly you’re the typical Republican voter who votes for the lesser of two evils and you and others doing you is why this country is in the mess we’re in. By the way you idiots voted for Jeb Bush how soon you forget, so it’s not a knee jerk reaction to ask people to figure out their mistakes
Remember when Charlie Crist rode Jeb’s coat tails into the governor’s office? Funniest thing I ever saw. He stood so close to Jeb every chance he could get, it started to look as if he was trying to cop a feel with one hand over his heart.
And then there was Pam Bondi gazing adoringly into Rick Scott’s eyes every chance she could get. That was another one that had me busting a gut. Totally over the top.
haha. Another fail.
Never voted for Jeb! for any office.
Sounds like that’s your problem, yohio: Making generalizations based on no information At. All.
So yeah, pay no attention to how good or bad an R. Candidate may be. Just pay attention to the “R” after their name and cross them off your list.
Sounds like a plan for success. /s
Well the people of Florida did so are you one of the newbies to the state who brought your brand of vote for the lesser of two evils with you to screw up the state?Keep deflecting with the generalization talk because you had no response for the fact you like to vote for the lesser of two evils. One guy doing a good job is worth sticking with Republicans who stabbed Trump in the back every chance they got. It’s why this country will never get any better. You can’t fix stupid party voters. Voters like you are why we have Romney, Sasse, Murkowski, Collins, Lee, Cotton, Toomey, Portman, Graham…
FL would ahve been destroyed right now if DeSantis would have lost. I thank God for that everyday. I could not imagine being in a state like NY or Ca right now. FL did it the correct way and i am happy to be here with him and to have voted for him.
You obviously didn’t follow the Florida primaries when our terrific Governor won a tough race against the FL donor machine, lobbyists and GOP. He was most definitely NOT their choice, Howdy Doody Putnam was. DeSantis is the real deal!
And boy, did he hand Howdy his keister. I don’t know if you saw the interview he did with Mark Levin, where Levin told the story of driving down from Washington with DeSantis and noticing signs for Putnam all over the place and few for DeSantis and Levin wanted to know how he was running ahead with relatively little fanfare on the ground. DeSantis gave him some sort of humble answer, but I know how he did it. Fox gave him a LOT of air time during his term in the House as a member of the Three Musketeers (Gaetz, Jordan, DeSantis). That was what he built on. The momentum from Fox and Trump propelled him to the top of the heap.
“DeSantis – closest to MAGA
“Noem – MAGAlite with a twist of Koch
“Haley – Entrenched Establishment DeceptiCon (RNC favorite)
“Cruz – Manipulative and controlled opposition”
Yes. Thank you. That is as succinct and accurate an assessment as I have read.
Hope he holds the line. But The swamp has a way of killing there young.
Not only will he hold the line, he will move forward. DeSantis is about as canny as they come. Never underestimate him. DeSantis truly personifies the iron fist in the velvet glove. I have watched him ever since he was in the House with Gaetz and Jordan, supporting Trump. And then I watched him run for Governor. He was brilliant in how he did it.
I believe he intends to be President at some point, and he WILL be President. And when he is, the country will be in good hands.
“You can wizz on my leg but don’t tell me it’s raining.”
Brillliant.
Mark Twain couldn’t have said it better.
I watched part of this live today..
Our Gov DeSantis has come a long way..
He has found his feet.. the MSM has hounded him the whole time.. He acknowledged weaknesses in State government and took action to fix the.
He has a target on his back but I truly see real potential..
He would easily beat either Senators right now.. I don’t think he will leave untill things are fixed in Florida and a good replacement Governor has been found..
MAGA
Depending on how the kangaroo court called the Senate ends up deciding, perhaps a Florida Governor Donald J. Trump would be a nice replacement when DeSantis moves on to a higher office?
I’m not discounting President Trump running in 2024…in which case I’d like to see DeSantis as his VP.
FTA: Under the new measure from the Florida legislature, the technology companies that de-platform a candidate during an election will face a daily fine of $100,000 until the candidate’s access to the platform is restored.
If a technology company promotes a candidate for office against another, the value of that free promotion must be recorded as a political campaign contribution enforced by the Florida Elections Commission.
The bill will also empower the Florida Attorney General to bring action against big tech companies under Florida’s Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act if they violate the new policies laid out in the bill.

“If a technology company promotes a candidate for office against another, the value of that free promotion must be recorded as a political campaign contribution enforced by the Florida Elections Commission.”
^^^^THIS, absolutely this. The rest is awesome, too, but I like that one particularly.
This sounds like a good law.
Now my question is: “Who wrote it?”
Actually, from now on, I always want to know who wrote these laws.
This should be a question ALWAYS asked by reporters when there is a new bill being considered.
I want to know which special interest lobbyist wrote the law, and who that lobbyist represents and who is funding that lobbyist.
Now . . . we know that sometimes the NRA writes gun laws and gets them passed.
And we know that sometimes the health insurers write laws (Obamacare) and get them passed.
And we know that private prison contractors write crime bills to increase the need for prison construction.
This bill sounds as if it might have been written by a lobbyist for trial lawyers. After all, Big Tech has a lot of money, and litigators would like a piece of that big pie. And lawyers are big political donors.
It is also just possible that the law was written by . . . Trump?
Exactly my choice of future presidential candidates, except for my strong objection to Rino and finger to the wind girl Nikki Haley.
Noem is still green. I’m glad we have her. Her comments about the GOP not making good on its promises was great, but it lacked one big addition: she should have added that our POTUS was fought from BOTH sides, including his own. He was/is fighting entrenched power that is NOT interested in what’s good for US. I thought that failure to add what POTUS and the American people faced was a purposeful omission and I didn’t like it at all.
She has good instincts but being governor of the small state of South Dakota is not comparable to being governor of FL, which is huge and diverse.
Sundance, who is controlling Cruz? And, why would Cruz allow it? He’s not a team player.
He has said he doesn’t want to be on Scotus–of course I don’t believe him. Is he after a chairmanship of the Judiciary Committee?
Is he, like so many of them, just willing to play the game with McConnell to make money on the side?
I should know this, but I don’t: what lobbyist controls him?
This is a joke. Why be concerned about politicians? He should have simply said ANYONE who is a FL resident who has been censored will have legal standing and FL will join with other states in seeing Section 230 be stricken.
Of course, BigTech will tie this up in the courts for years.
Go into the chat on Amazon and send them a message that you will not be using their website until they restore Parler. That is the kind of thing We The Plebes can do to get Big Tech’s attention. Deplatform them!
Legislation or regulation won’t stop Big Tech from censorship or tracking, it will come from innovation.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the next President of The United States, the Great Ron DeSantis.
