It is a little surprising that Parler was using Amazon servers to host it’s platform considering the obvious ideological risks involved. However, given the Mercer financial backing behind Parler, and considering there is a background data-collection system, perhaps that surprise factor is slightly diminished. Dance within an ideological system and there is always a risk the music will stop.
The efforts of Big Tech continue unabated by any regulatory agency….
For those of us that can…let’s use our stimulus money to support conservative free speech. What other chance will there be for us to re-platform with government money.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) appears to own a load of servers too. They just kicked Parler off of their server farm as of midnight.

Update: Matze says that once hosting services found out that Apple and Google were targeting Parler, they immediately stopped negotiations and their lawyers dropped them.

I joined Parler back in March of last year before Dan Bongino got involved. It was hardly used by anyone of national importance. When Dan announced his involvement, it took off. I was very surprised to learn that they were dependent upon Amazon for their servers. I would hope they have learned their lesson, but inviting or approving Rebecca Mercer to be a significant investor a few months back was also not smart. The management are not doing their homework.
Fortunately I had also joined Gab in 2019, but had not seen much useful & substantive political talk on that so I had hardly every used my account. Now that app is hopping , but I’m sure the communists will try to harm it as well.
Don’t expect the Congress to remove Section 230 protection for these totalitarian IT overlords.

Parler is gone as of midnight. Gab is down for maintenance. Clouthub cannot handle the load – not enough bandwidth.
Gab seems most prepared to handle the load as they have there own servers but yes the patriots looking for a voice overwhelmed them right now.
I believe that Donald Trump is going to start his own platform. Now he has seen what it’s like from the other side, he probably believes in the importance of free speech

Hey I just download and installed mewe I heard about it awhile back from a couple of alternative medicine facebook groups I was in. Apparently facebook was censoring putting the ban hammer on alternative medicine discussions and of course animal rehoming or selling.
Mewe isn’t to bad I like it better than parler which is clunky.
Yesterday I tried to set up an account on gab . I free previewed it yesterday but when I made the decision to join the site crashed so I will wait a bit for theass exodus slows down

One of the vloggers I follow is Dave Cullen of “Computing Forever”, who produces great content about COVID and The Great Reset, with a focus on his home country of Ireland. He has been migrating his main content to Odysee and Bitchute, using YouTube only as a presence to direct people to his main sites.
Just now I checked for his YouTube site, which I accessed only yesterday, and it is gone. He may have shut it down himself but I wouldn’t doubt this is part of the massive purge.
I saw something from him earlier today, his site at youtube was deleted by youtube – he posted the letter they sent to him, too. I didn’t read it, just made a mental note that I should follow him on bitchute.
Sadly the left has truly made this into an Us & Them country…Gone is “We The People”.
