Senate Overrides President Trump Veto of Defense Bill

President Trump vetoed [H.R. 6395 (116)] the National Defense and Authorization Act spending bill last month, because the bill did not include a demand to repeal legal protections for social media companies known as Section 230. Additionally President Trump opposed forcing military bases to be renamed; and more importantly Trump objected to congressional limits on the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan & Europe.

Congress used the NDAA to demand U.S. troops remain present around the world to expand our military influence. Various foreign governments pay congressional representatives -via the leadership PAC and monetary laundry service- to retain the blood of U.S. service-members on their soil.

DC politicians accept foreign money and trade in the currency of dead U.S. military members to enlarge their own stock portfolios. President Trump was viewed as against the interests of the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services committees for his ongoing attempts to stop this payment scheme.

Today the senate voted 81-13 to override President Trump’s veto of the bill. Thirteen democrat and republican senators voted to support the veto, however, some of the GOP were hiding their alignment behind an opportunity to give the illusion of MAGA support.

The republicans supporting the veto were: Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), and John Kennedy (R-La.). The democrats supporting the veto included: Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.).

(Via Politico) […] “For 60 years in a row, the NDAA has provided necessary support for our troops and national security,” Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), said in a statement after the vote. “Today’s vote sent a clear message that Congress will not allow President Trump to stand in the way of that support, and I’m relieved the critical bipartisan priorities we fought for will become law.”

[…] “A lot of people contend, as I do, that every year the NDAA’s the most significant vote that we have,” Senate Armed Services Chair Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) said on the floor ahead of the vote. “This year especially so in light of all of the disruptions and problems that we’ve had.”

“This legislation is essential to the national security of the United States and to the welfare of the troops and families who defense us every day,” added Jack Reed of Rhode Island, the top Armed Services Democrat.  (read more)

Hey, if it takes a few arms and legs to keep our portfolios fat and happy… and simultaneously we can protect our donor friends at Google and get rid of this annoying Trump…. well,…

I wonder if Trump’s veto (knowing it would be overridden) was to get votes on the record. Like hopefully (if no BS from Mitch and Nazi) we will get the definitive pro versus anti American votes front and center from the Senate and House.

Let’s see how many Republican senators will stand up for Trump on the 6th. We know Hawley has the cojones. That is the only vote that is crucial to the country right now.

Well we get to see who is the Conservative and who is the RINO! Wouldn’t be surprised if Hawley was the lone dancer , then after a vote he would start a movement. Well it’s nice to dream a little around the holidays!

Assume it was a message and RESPOND!
VENT ON YOUR SENATORS! Force them to reckon with your passion and your knowledge of what’s going on and what’s at stake. Explain that we are long past parties–either they are a patriot or a traitor. Explain that this is not a moment in history that can be walked away from, even by peace-loving citizens.

Stop telling yourself it does no good to communicate, because you don’t know what hand he is holding, or what hand the person manipulating him is holding. And you never know how God may be convicting his/her heart.

Play your role in history now or you will regret it for the rest of your miserable life.

And if you do NOTHING, patriot… good luck living with that on your conscience.

What Trump has done and is doing in spades… is showing us who the traitors are because he forces their hand. Every.Single.Time.
My Idaho Senators have been very quiet. Hmmmm… Maybe that’s the Idaho way – not sure. But, I would expect them to be at the forefront of LIBERTY and FREEDOM. Our Governor was on the China “friendlies” list. It’s time for him to go.

Crapo is a Mitch McConnell stooge. He and Senator Risch never write back about want is going on right now. Risch’s carcass is safely in that chair again. And Crapo is up for re-election in 2022. We need to make sure that skunk never sees the inside of congress again. Our senators and especially Mike Simpson are worthless.

So we’re being cheated and not one person has formally asked for Joe Biden to concede due to cheating.
O they’re afraid to accuse him outright?
Why?
Not a crime to accuse him.
It will force Biden to have to prove he didn’t cheat.
“he” meaning him and his party the Dems.
Looks very WEAK that we just keep piling up evidence,
but as of yet not one person telling Biden to concede,
that he did not win,
and they cheated.
LAWSUITS NO ONE GETS TO HEAR DON’T COUNT AS TELLING HIM YOU CHEATED, CONCEDE!

We’ve been cheated now over 2 months and not once has Trump or Pence or anyone else personally called Biden and the dems out on this.
All that’s said so far is “the election was rigged.”
That’s a start, but WHO RIGGED IT?
NAME A NAME!
LET’S GET IT OUT ON THE TABLE.
MAKE THE CHARGE!
You don’t have to have a court or a cop tell him.
JOE BIDEN YOU AND YOUR PARTY CHEATED, CONCEDE!
The Body of Christ should be the ones saying it the loudest.

JOE BIDEN YOU AND THE DEMS CHEATED.
CONCEDE!

Not want to hear lame weak excuses.
This absolutely needs to be done asap.
and OUTRIGHT.
MAKE THE CHARGE! At least verbally!

We’ve been cheated for the last four years. Russian collusion hoax that enough loser republicans refused to denounce. They stalled on Trump’s appointments for months, hoping they could just get rid of him. An impeachment hoax, and everyday bogus BS “leaks” from “anonymous” “sources” trying to make PDJT look bad, racist, sexist, you name it.

Had there been any kind of support from these cowards, this could have been the greatest presidency of all time. They got what they wanted, they handicapped Trump for 4 years and are now waiting on president Commie Harris and her serving boy Dementia Joe to take control and perform their great reset. All the while they flail and gnash their teeth in feigned protest, begging for donations.

Odd, SIX Democrats supported the veto? Trump had to know well in advance things were going to roll out this way. Remember: this guy is NOT a politician, he doesn’t THINK like a politician, he’s not motivated by greed, power or all the other trappings of the political class. So what was the strategy here?

I’m thinking this may be a divide-and-conquer move; divide Senate Repubs, let +74 million Trump supporters see the real weenies, pull off the masks, strip them naked for all to see. Trump has always been strong on defense and supporting the military. As for the objectionable things in this bill, he could’ve addressed them through other means should he somehow pull off a miracle here and serve the second term he rightfully won.

There was a plan behind this effort, and I think it was largely to identify the honest senators he could count on come January 6th. And it may also be a message that Big Mitch doesn’t control the Senate to the extent he thought. Maybe this exercise wasn’t really about the defense bill at all.

Well! Apparently the Senate Republicans have not paid ANY attention to what their constituents love about President Trump!
The fact that he didn’t start any new wars AND wanted to bring our troops back from Afghanistan’s and Syria was one of the main reasons he got so many new supporters…new Republican voters. We even got a few of the Bernie crowd to walk away from the Democrats on this and Trump’s trade deals.
How can they NOT know this?! They have internal polling reports on issues? American’s don’t want to send their children off to be killed or injured for life in far away places, just so the DC elite can cash in for their own personal greed!! We have known that playbook a long time.
These traitors better wake up quick. We are not going to put up with it anymore!

Why the #### do we keep reelecting these aholes? We know that they are not on our side. I also don’t understand why trump kept supporting people like these? What good is having a senate majority when it doesn’t do anything for our side??? Face the fact that we are in the long fight and we need to either clean out the R party or start a new one that will actually enforce what it believes – kind of like how the D party works.

This really feels like the Republicans crossing the Rubicon and telling its voters who’s boss. Just like George Will proclaiming the establishment decides who gets the Replubican nomination and candidates must interview before them. An override of this scale is outright repudiation of the Republican voter and signals the establishment is no longer afraid of letting you see.

They really believe you can be cowed into submission. You can’t reform them. They are rotten to the core and the party machinery is solidly in their hands.   Never give another penny to the RNC. Only give directly to candidates who are willing to pledge their votes to your positions.

I donated a lot to the TMAGA fund raising committee even knowing the RNC was getting access to this money. Any further donations will require zero RNC access and direct funding to candidates who meet the America First agenda.
