Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Still remember when this was a bright and shiny new song. The character in this Korean drama music video, Crazy Horse, is young enough to still enjoy taking on the bullies. Seems somehow appropriate just now.

If you did, we need to share the heck out of this thing!

          • Mary Van Deusen says:

I’m made over 850 of these things since 1985. It’s the art of my life. Taking the lyrics of a song and reinterpreting them in a completely different video context so that it almost seems as though the song were written for that context. I call them “literary song videos.” They’re layered for complexity and can be incredibly intricate if you know the show with which I’m working. I gave a lecture on them many years ago at MIT’s Media Lab. The videos all play on my private website, and most play on YouTube. I’m currently in the middle of my Chinese and Korean drama obsession, so I’ll be working there for awhile. I’ve been collecting images for a Stop the Steal voting video, but I haven’t found a song yet.

This is the only way I can share them. I’m not on any social media networks. Left column link takes you to pages devoted to single topic videos. Trump videos appear on the “political” songvids page.

            • sunnydaze says:

Thankyou for that link, Mary. Bookmarked it!

              I’ll be sharing some around.

What an interesting thing to work on all these years. Seems like a fun endeavor!

              • Mary Van Deusen says:

I actually got 2 careers out of doing them. Talked the head of IBM Research Computer Sciences into letting me do something more fun than computer language design, and had a multimedia magazine for a few years, making videos around the country. After I took early retirement, I wrote movie and TV scripts that were repped by Writers&Artists in Hollywood. (No sales, sigh) So I’m thrilled for all that these videos have let me accomplish. And they still bring me great happiness.

          • Mary Van Deusen says:

Actually, I prefer “He’s a Rebel” for this character, Crazy Horse. And, strangely enough, after talking about looking for a Trump video for the Stop the Steal, I started seeing my collected images as I was listening to this again. By the way, in the “old days” we used videos like this to pull people into fandoms so that we’d have others to “squee” with over some obscure show like Callan, that starred Edward Woodward as a character that could have been his life before “The Equalizer.”

    The Purpose of Prayer

    By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam

The question is sometimes asked: If God’s will and purpose are unalterable, why pray? The answer is simply: Because the divine purpose, which any answer to prayer must represent, includes the prayer itself. It is enough that He “who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will” (Eph. 1:11) invites and exhorts His people to “come boldly unto the throne of grace” to “let [their] requests be made known unto God” (Heb. 4:16; Phil. 4:6).

But prayer is not merely petition, as many suppose. It is one aspect of active communion with God (meditation on the Word being the other) and includes adoration, thanksgiving and confession, as well as supplication. Hyde, in God’s Education of Alan, Pp. 154,155, says: “Prayer is the communion of two wills, in which the finite comes into connection with the Infinite, and, like the trolley, appropriates its purpose and power.”

We have an example of this in the record of our Lord’s prayer in the garden, for, while He is not to be classed with finite men, yet He laid aside His glory, became “a servant” (Phil. 2:7) and “learned obedience” (Heb. 5:8; Phil. 2:8). In this place of subjection He made definite and earnest requests of His Father, but closed His prayer with the words: “Nevertheless, not My will, but Thine, be done” (Luke 22:42) with the result that He was “strengthened” for the ordeal He had to face (Ver. 43).

Thus prayer is not merely a means of “getting things from God” but a God-appointed means of fellowship with Him, and all acceptable prayer will include the supplication — as sincerely desired as the rest: “Nevertheless, not My will, but Thine, be done.”

Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Philippians 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

    Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

    Solemnity of Christ the King

    Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As devout Christians and faithful citizens of the United States of America, you have intense and heartfelt concern for the fate of your beloved country while the final results of the Presidential election are still uncertain.

News of electoral fraud is multiplying, despite the shameful attempts of the mainstream media to censor the truth of the facts in order to give their candidate the advantage. There are states in which the number of votes is greater than the number of voters; others in which the mail-in vote seems to be exclusively in favor of Joe Biden; others in which the counting of ballots has been suspended for no reason or where sensational tampering has been discovered: always and only against President Donald J. Trump, always and only in favor of Biden.

In truth, for months now we have been witnessing a continuous trickle of staggered news, of manipulated or censored information, of crimes that have been silenced or covered up in the face of striking evidence and irrefutable testimony. We have seen the deep state organize itself, well in advance, to carry out the most colossal electoral fraud in history, in order to ensure the defeat of the man who has strenuously opposed the establishment of the New World Order that is wanted by the children of darkness. In this battle, you have not failed, as is your sacred duty, to make your own contribution by taking the side of the Good. Others, enslaved by vices or blinded by infernal hatred against Our Lord, have taken the side of Evil.

Do not think that the children of darkness act with honesty, and do not be scandalized if they operate with deception. Do you perhaps believe that Satan’s followers are honest, sincere, and loyal? The Lord has warned us against the Devil: “He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks in character, because he is a liar and the father of lies” (Jn 8:44).

In these hours, while the gates of Hell seem to prevail, allow me to address myself to you with an appeal, which I trust that you will respond to promptly and with generosity. I ask you to make an act of trust in God, an act of humility and filial devotion to The Lord of Armies. I ask that all of you pray the Holy Rosary, if possible in your families or with your dear ones, your friends, your brothers and sisters, your colleagues, your fellow soldiers. Pray with the abandonment of children who know how to have recourse to their Most Holy Mother to ask her to intercede before the throne of the Divine Majesty. Pray with a sincere soul, with a pure heart, in the certainty of being heard and answered. Ask her – she who is the Help of Christians, Auxilium Christianorum – to defeat the forces of the Enemy; ask her – she who is terrible as an army set in battle array (Song 6:10) – to grant the victory to the forces of Good and to inflict a humiliating defeat on the forces of Evil.

Have your children pray, using the holy words that you have taught them: those confident prayers will rise to God and will not remain unheard. Have the elderly and sick pray, so that they may offer their sufferings in union with the sufferings that Our Lord suffered on the Cross when he shed His Precious Blood for Our Redemption. Have young ladies and women pray, so that they turn to her who is the model of purity and motherhood. And you, men, must also pray: your courage, your honor and your boldness will be refreshed and strengthened. All of you, take up this spiritual weapon, before which Satan and his minions retreat furiously, because they fear the Most Holy Virgin, she who is Almighty by Grace, even more than Almighty God.

Do not allow yourselves to be discouraged by the deceptions of the Enemy, even more so in this terrible hour in which the impudence of lying and fraud dares to challenge Heaven. Our adversaries’ hours are numbered if you will pray, if we will all pray with Faith and with the true ardor of Charity. May the Lord grant that one single devout and faithful voice rise from your homes, your churches, and your streets! This voice will not remain unheard, because it will be the voice of a people that cries out, in the moment when the storm rages most fiercely, “Save us, Lord, we are perishing!” (Mt 8:25).

The days that await us are a precious occasion for all of you, and for those who unite themselves spiritually to you from every part of the world.

You have the honor and privilege of being able to participate in the victory of this spiritual battle, to wield the powerful weapon of the Holy Rosary as our fathers did at Lepanto to repel the enemy armies.

Pray with the certainty of Our Lord’s promise: “Ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you” (Lk 11:9). The King of Kings, from whom you ask the salvation of your Nation, will reward your Faith. Your testimony, remember this, will touch the heart of Our Lord, multiplying the heavenly Graces which are, more than ever, indispensable in order to achieve victory.

May my appeal, which I address to you and to all people who recognize the Lordship of God, find you to be generous apostles and courageous witnesses of the spiritual rebirth of your beloved country, and with it the entire world. Non praevalebunt.

God bless and protect the United States of America! One Nation under God

  17. just stevie says:

“I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do.” John xvii. 4

The Death of Jesus Christ is the performance in history of the very Mind of God. There is no room for looking on Jesus Christ as a martyr; His death was not something that happened to Him which might have been prevented: His death was the very reason why He came.

Never build your preaching of forgiveness on the fact that God is our Father and He will forgive us because He loves us. It is untrue to Jesus Christ’s revelation of God; it makes the Cross unnecessary, and the Redemption “much ado about nothing.” If God does forgive sin, it is because of the Death of Christ. God could forgive men in no other way than by the death of His Son, and Jesus is exalted to be Saviour because of His death. “We see Jesus…because of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour.” The greatest note of triumph that ever sounded in the ears of a startled universe was that sounded on the Cross of Christ – “IT IS FINISHED.” That is the last word in the Redemption of man.

Anything that belittles or obliterates the holiness of God by a false view of the love of God, is untrue to the revelation of God given by Jesus Christ. Never allow the thought that Jesus Christ stands with us against God out of pity and compassion; that He became a curse for us out of sympathy with us. Jesus Christ became a curse for us by the Divine decree. Our portion of realizing the terrific meaning of the curse is conviction of sin, the gift of shame and penitence is given us – this is the great mercy of God. Jesus Christ hates the wrong in man, and Calvary is the estimate of His hatred.

    Connecting the dots:
Premise: Sydney Powell is correct about Dominion software, and the “breaking” of the algorithm.
    Working backwards:
“They” have an algorithm to ensure Joe Biden wins.
It is fixed, because it is based on math.
For it to work, they have to have an idea of how many voters there will be, because the algorithm is based on awarding percentages of votes. To be BELIEVABLE, they have to be “accurate”, which means they have to have a good idea of the number of voters.
They know they can’t actively discourage PDJT voters, but a health issue could.
They knew how popular PDJT rallies were leading up to the Fall of 2019.
They knew they had to suppress the vote so the algorithm would work.
Which means the weaponization of the virus was necessary.
Which means the “rush” to impeach in December was necessary (divert from news of virus in Wuhan)
And why the delay to deliver articles of impeachment in 2020 now makes sense (let it spread to United States)
Which means they KNEW about the virus.
Which means they are COMPLICIT with the virus.
Which means they are in bed with China.
And don’t you know… China can’t wait for Biden to be President so their investment pays off.

    Just sayin.

This came up tangentially yesterday on another topic, but I thought I would offer it here, as it connects to children, grand-children, American literature, and Christmas.

Carl Barks, an artist among those first hired by Walt Disney in the 1920’s and 1930’s, developed Donald Duck and his nephews into strong characters, as well as inventing Uncle Scrooge McDuck, Scottish-American tycoon extraordinaire, when he was given the job of creating comic book stories for the characters in the later 1940’s.!

I first saw Uncle Scrooge/Donald Duck comic books in the early 1950’s in the local drug store in Dayton, and they helped me to teach myself to read before the First Grade. My mother got me a subscription to Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories when I was 5 or so, and I have been hooked ever since! My own kids loved them too, for there was a company called Gladstone which reprinted all the Barks stories in the late 1970’s through the 1990’s.

If you don’t know the Don Rosa Donald Duck/Uncle Scrooge stories from the 1980’s-early 2000’s, I can highly recommend them as well! Rosa was a meticulously faithful follower of Carl Barks, and his stories reach the same heights.

The stories of Barks and Rosa are not just great “comic-book” stories, they are excellent stories in an of themselves!

Reprints of all the stories of both men are available in fine collections on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Here is one of Barks’ greatest stories, perhaps the greatest:
