Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Thought? Looks to me like Jerry Nadler dropped a load in his shorts. I could be wrong?
No … that’s Gonadler’s lame impression of Tim Conway’s “Old Man”.
Lol, yes, Feisty, I think he had a case of the trots. Then again, I do think it was pay back for how he treated Hope Hicks. I’ve always loved the Carpe Donktum meme “Could there BE Any More Contrast?”:

There are several possible reasons…none of them good.
When one gets that old, frail, and dumpy looking, an amiable personality and a reasonable and honest approach to politics would compensate for most all of those shortcomings.
Alas, our Senior DemoCommies (Pelosi & Nadler) seem to have missed that life lesson.
Choosing Commissions
By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam
How foolish and wrong it is for any of us to use “snatch-grab” methods, as Pastor J. C. O’Hair called them, in ascertaining our Lord’s will for us! What right have we to choose some particular segment or segments of our Lord’s instructions to the eleven in the forty days between His resurrection and ascension, and to apply only these to ourselves or to the Church today?
Nothing could be clearer than the fact that our Lord “showed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God” (Acts 1:3). In those forty days then, one Person, our Lord, spoke to eleven men, and gave instructions as to the program they were to carry out after His ascension. In every single case it is crystal clear that these commands were not directed to others, who were to live at some future date, but to the apostles, who were to commence to carry them out after His departure, when the Holy Spirit had endued them with power.
This is emphasized by the phraseology found in all five records of the so-called “Great Commission”: Matt. 28:19: “Go ye,” Mark 16:15: “Go ye,” Luke 24:48: “Ye are witnesses,” John 20:21: “So send I you,” and Acts 1:8: “Ye shall be witnesses.” How preposterous, then, to argue, as so many hard-pressed theologians have done, that one or more segments of the great commission are to be carried out by another generation at a later time!
By what rule of hermeneutics or logic have we the right to exclude from the interpretation of these commands the very persons to whom our Lord gave them, and if this commission is binding on the Church today, what authority have we to choose which part or parts we shall obey?
https://www.bereanbiblesociety.org/choosing-commissions/
Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Luke 24:48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
“How foolish and wrong it is for any of us to use “snatch-grab” methods, as Pastor J. C. O’Hair called them, in ascertaining our Lord’s will for us!”
In a posting here, the person mentioned had encouraged focusing on “Pauline truth, or “Christ’s truth given to and through Paul” as “recorded in Paul’s prison epistles” rather than “during the ‘Acts’ period”:
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/07/15/wednesday-july-15th-open-thread/
This is noteworthy as it relates to this writer’s question:
“What right have we to choose some particular segment or segments of our Lord’s instructions to the eleven in the forty days between His resurrection and ascension, and to apply only these to ourselves or to the Church today?”
Again, the first writer, named O’Hair, appeared to focus “Christ’s truth given to and through Paul” on the “prison epistles” as segments of instruction valid for people today. Yet, a second writer named Sadler claimed that not just the prison letters but all of “Paul’s letters are the commandments of the Lord which are valid for today under grace” — even though Paul himself distinguishes what are his personal thoughts and convictions rather that “the commandments of the Lord” (cf. 1 Cor. 7:10-12), which appears to work against the stated premise (post found through above link).
Sadler added that “Paul says that the things he wrote to the Corinthians, and to the Body of Christ as a whole, were the “commandments of the Lord”!” As Paul used much specificity and much instruction to the Corinthians on matters such as spiritual gifts for the body of Christ (cf. 1 Cor. 11-14), it would stand to reason that per assertions within his article, Sadler would cast those as “commands that are will of God for our Christian lives during the dispensation of the grace of God” and “the doctrines of grace that the Church is built upon and is to live by and share with the world.”
However, a recent post put here from a different author (also named Sadler) specifically rejected what was written about the spiritual gifts from 1 Cor. 11-14 as applicable today:
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/09/18/friday-september-18th-open-thread/#comments
Meanwhile, an author named Kurth pointed to “Paul’s epistles, the part of the Bible written to people living today in the dispensation of grace” (quote from first link and post), yet his call for “Pauline truth alone” to avoid “dispensational errors” doesn’t specify all of Paul’s epistles or just the “prison epistles”, like O’Hair:
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/03/24/tuesday-march-24th-open-thread/comment-page-1/#comment-7970911
All of this goes towards what was raised by yet another writer in today’s post (Stam) about methods of “ascertaining the Lord’s will for us.” If the writers of an organization evidently aren’t on the same page as far as what sections of Scripture they appear to encourage believers today to cordon off as far as current applicability and validity, what level of credibility should the organization have as far as any specification relevant to “segments of our Lord’s instructions”?
It is ironic and sad. If Christ is my Lord and Savior, then I want to find out what He said and try to live by those words. Finding some ‘reason’ to ignore His words defeats the purpose of taking Him as Lord and Savior.
It is true though that Jesus didn’t say everything while He lived. He said a lot to His Apostles after He was resurrected. And He kept communicating through revelations after He ascended. That includes revelation to Saul/Paul. Saul, who was not Christ’s disciple while He lived, and who persecuted the church that Christ set up after He resurrected, received a witness of Christ through direct revelation.
These things are exactly why the New Testament is ordered. First the Gospels, or good news, of Christ, His life, His words, His miracles, His suffering and dying for all of us, and His resurrection. Then comes witnesses of the Acts of the Apostles, chosen by Him to lead and build His Church. After that, come the letters written by those Apostles, and Paul’s letters are considered the most important of the letters.
Reading Paul’s letters, one will find that most of them are written to very specific people, concerning very specific issues, that were a problem at a very specific time for those people. It is amazing how Paul would respond with Christ’s truths. And his answers to a few, for a specific time, with a specific problem, become guidance for all at all times.
But that is true for the Gospels and Acts too. Each were selected for us as Scripture. Selected for our edification and our guidance. Why, because the people of the Church were already using them that way for hundreds of years before Constantine asked the Churches within his empire to unite.
Before that, the churches shared these Scriptures with each other. Passing around copies of copies of copies. Church fathers even listed which ones they thought should be Scripture and which shouldn’t.
It is hard to set forth an exact timeline when each book of the New Testament was written. Even the harshest skeptics agree that Paul wrote many of the epistles in his name, placing those as the earliest written Scripture that we know about. Even so, very few experts think Paul wrote every epistle that claimed Paul as an author. Such declarations are very difficult to prove one way or another.
Worse, the presence of revelation about the fall of Jerusalem is usually declared as proof that a book was written after said fall. So we don’t really know if there were Gospels around when Paul witnessed of Christ. (Using the presence of revelation as proof that there is no revelation is a nasty thing. But specificity does tend to increase after the fact.)
Yet those Gospels, and Acts, were considered more important for us than Paul’s epistles. Epistles that were the first written witness of Christ that we know about. To be fair, they probably didn’t have an accurate timeline for the writing of the New Testament books back when they ordered them either.
On the other hand, the writing, the selection, and the ordering of our Scriptures are all acts of men. Men who disagreed and argued with each other until people finally accepted what we have. So some leeway is possible.
Though it is still a shame for people to look for and find reasons to avoid edifying themselves in Christ. Cordening off Scripture. As I stated when I started, ironic and sad.
Truckers Report; Teaming.
Been teaming all week dong the same run. Departed Anderson at 19:30 Monday. We took the other drivers truck, a 2019 Volvo.
I took the first driving shift. Drove up to the first stop at TENNECO in Lincoln, NE. I had 4 minutes left of my 11 hour driver time when I arrived so then Randy, the other driver, took over. Delivered in Lincoln then go to TENNECO on Seward, NE.
At Seward drop the trailer with the rest of the load for them in door 30 then bobtail around the plant to door 18 and hook to a trailer they have loaded. Multiple bills of lading with freight going to various places in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Then we take that loaded trailer back to Lincoln where they put some more freight on it and then head to a lot next to a McDonalds in Peoria, IL and meet a driver coming up from Anderson. Trade trailers and paper work and head back to Lincoln, NE.
So the routine for the rest of the week was I take over at Peoria and do the Lincoln stop and then drive to the plant in Seward. By that time Randy is awake and ready. I put the trailer in the door 30 and go in and get the bills signed. While I’m doing that Randy is unhooking from the trailer. Then I bobtail around to door 18 and back under the loaded trailer there and go inside to sign the bills for the load while Randy hooks up and does the pre-trip inspection and I enter the information from the bills into the Samsera tab and transmit it. Then we change over and I climb in the sleeper and Randy drives us back to Lincoln and does that pick up then drives us to Peoria and does the exchange with the driver from Anderson. Then I take over and Randy goes into the sleeper and I take off again back to Lincoln.
On the last day I do all the stops and then get us far enough east on I-80 before changing drivers that Randy will have plenty of hours to get us back to Anderson. We got in at 00:15 this morning.
Doing the same next week but this time I take off at 19:30 Sunday and we will be up there doing that routine for the whole week.
Because I was logged into the sleeper when we got back I had already put 10 hours towards my 34 hour break. So, if need be we could take off again in 24 hours with me driving and Randy in the sleeper finishing his 34 hour break. But we have a little more time than that for this run so that’s not necessary.
The worst part of this run for me is that I pass through Omaha during morning rush hour. Traffic moves well but it’s very heavy and you’ve got to be on your toes.
Now I’m tired and I going to bed.
Another fun read. Rest well, fellow Treeper.
After you get some rest…
You have me logistically curious with this part –
“Multiple bills of lading with freight going to various places in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Then we take that loaded trailer back to Lincoln where they put some more freight on it and then head to a lot next to a McDonalds in Peoria, IL and meet a driver coming up from Anderson. Trade trailers and paper work …..”
So how does the freight in one trailer get to all those different destinations in three countries? Does the trailer keep getting swapped out or is freight actually offloaded at one or more points and put in other trailers that are destined for Canada, Mexico, other parts of the U.S., etc.?
That’s what cross docks are for. A cross dock is a long building with docks on each long side. The driver that we meet in Peoria takes that trailer back to Anderson and puts it in the assigned door. The freight is taken out, identified and separated by destination. The the freight is then put into a trailer bound for it’s destination.
For example, freight bound for Mexico is put on a trailer bound for the company terminal in Laredo, TX which has a 100+ door cross dock. There the freight is once again separated , . but this time not by specific locations in Mexico but by the Mexican trucking company that will pick it up and take it to Mexico using one of our Company trailers. Only Mexican drivers go into Mexico.
Sorry I was so late responding. I slept the day away. I was exhausted.
No don’t apologize. I’m retired and can wait. You are obviously very gainfully employed and need to be rested to be safe and alert. I’m surprised you replied that quickly but thanks! because it makes perfect sense now that you explained the process. I actually never knew about “cross docks.”
There are rows marked by lines on the floor of the cross dock. Each row holds the freight going to a particular place. That way the dock workers know where to find the freight going to a particular place. They try to assign the doors for the driver to put a load into based on what is most efficient for transfer of the freight to minimize the distance the fork trucks travel and the congestion that occurs when you have a bunch of fork trucks working.
The company I work for does a great job at doing all this stuff and keeping all the paperwork straight, including processing the export and import documentation for international shipments. They also deal with international shipments coming and going to countries in Europe and Asia. Those Shipments we drivers pick up at customs warehouses, usually located near major metropolitan airports.
The weakest link at the company I work for is, and always has been, communication between drivers and dispatch and between the three dispatch shifts. The foul ups usually occur when the outgoing shift at dispatch fails to communicate what is going on with a particular load with the incoming shift or when a particular dispatcher that usually handles a particular load is off work. That is why I sat at that warehouse in PA for 5 1/2 hours Thursday before last.
In this business it always comes down to the driver paying the price one way or another for any screwups or performance failures.

The Consecration of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ (the Church of the Anastasis) in Jerusalem
“When the Holy Empress Helena found the Lord’s Cross in Jerusalem, she stayed longer in the city and built Churches in Gethsemane, in Bethlehem, on the Mount of Olives, and in other places that commemorated the life and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. On Golgotha, where she found the Precious Cross, she began to build an enormous Church, where under one roof would be the places both where the Lord was crucified and where He was buried, the Holy Empress wanting to bring under one roof the places of His suffering and His glory. But Helena went to the Lord before this magnificent Church was completed. It was finished in the same year in which Saint Constantine completed thirty years on the throne, and so the consecration of the Church and the Emperor’s Jubilee were fixed for the same day, September 13th, 335. At that time a local Synod of Bishops was meeting in Tyre. These Bishops, with many others, made their way to Jerusalem, to the solemn consecration of thr Church of the Resurrection of the Lord. It was then instituted that this day, as a day of victory and triumph for the Church of Christ, should be celebrated every year.”

THE UNBLAMEABLE ATTITUDE
“If…thou rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee…” Matthew v. 23
If when you come to the altar, there you remember that your brother has anything against you, not – If you rake up something by a morbid sensitiveness, but – “If thou rememberest,” that is, if it is brought to your conscious mind by the Spirit of God: “first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.” Never object to the intense sensitiveness of the Spirit of God in you when He is educating you down to the scruple.
“First be reconciled to thy brother…” Our Lord’s direction is simple, “first be reconciled.” Go back the way you came, go the way indicated to you by the conviction given at the altar; have an attitude of mind and a temper of soul to the one who has something against you that makes reconciliation as natural as breathing. Jesus does not mention the other person, He says – YOU go. There is no question of your rights. The stamp of the saint is that he can waive his own rights and obey the Lord Jesus.
“And then come and offer thy gift.” The process is clearly marked. First, the heroic spirit of self-sacrifice, then the sudden checking by the sensitiveness of the Holy Spirit, and the stoppage at the point of conviction, then the way of obedience to the word of God, constructing an unblameable attitude of mind and temper to the one with whom you have been in the wrong; then the glad, simple unhindered offering of your gift to God.

I have no sympathy for the Muslims. We have lost too many here from their deeds.
A take away on this issue. China killed the perpetrators, almost all, now is rounding them up and doing whatever’s necessary to stop them. It will pay in loyalty from their people. No government will stand without enforcement of laws creating a reasonably safe environment. This antifa behavior here in the U.S. hast to be stopped.
I agree. People who maintain membership in a cult that tells them to subjugate, convert, or kill everyone else can never be trusted.
As for Antifa, they seek to destroy our goverment and way of life. These people ARE NOT “protesting” anything. It’s all a ruse. They pretend to protest so they can camoflage their intentions and enjoy America’s “First Amendment Protections”. Without their signs and slogans, they would be seen for what they are, and dealt with accordingly. Insurrectionists.
Just say’n… 😉
