Denver Broncos Declare If You Are Not Virtuous Enough To Support Their Antifa Politics Then Get Lost…

The NFL has been moving further and further toward the political left for several years.  Many NFL players and teams openly castigate their fans and denigrate anyone who doesn’t conform to their political correctness.  Overall, the NFL has become a toxic stew of identity politics and divisive intollerance.

However, the Denver Broncos are taking division up a notch today by declaring if their fans do not stand with their brand of virtue signaling politics, then you stand against them.

(Official Team Position SourceIf you ain’t with us, you against us.”)

Quite a remarkable position.  Apparently, in the endless quest to be the most virtuous, the team has decided to eliminate over half of their potential support base.  Against the recent pressure upon NFL quarterback Drew Brees to apologize for supporting the U.S.A flag; it appears the NFL is a lost cause.

Let the market decide.

“The NFL has been moving further and further toward the political left for several years.” After being kicked off by Kaepernick, the movement has been largely moved along by Malcolm Jenkins of the Eagles. (One former Buckeye I am not proud to claim). While there are plenty of toxic players like Jenkins, I think there are a lot of patriotic players and inclusive players. Drew Brees is a current example. The owners and teams cow tow to their municipal governments for tax breaks, stadium funding, vendor licenses, etc.

Certainly. You can go back as far as the Greek historians and philosophers and then the church fathers. What I find fascinating about the Greeks especially is not so much what they wrote, but rather they were writing such things in the context they were writing them. While Mesopotamia and Egypt still had not figured out the concept of “vowels”, hence rendering their written languages largely useless for much more than monument inscriptions about how great their kings were and ubiquitous accounting documents, the Greeks were producing a copious written legacy, much of which reads like modern thought. A good place to start with the Greeks and why they are important to Western heritage is anything by Donald Kagan and Victor Davis Hansen.

As for the Church Fathers, the literature is immense, but as good a place to start as any is this book

You can also skip forward to The Enlightenment era and read especially the works that influenced the Founding Fathers of America, a decent list of which can be found here, especially Montesquieu and Locke. Other important and influential political writers include Thomas Hobbes and Jean-Jaques Rosseau. Then of course, read the writings of the Founding Fathers, especially the Federalist Papers.

The German philosophers are important to understand for their influence on the advent of socialism and later communism, particularly Kant and Hegel. A good summary of the topic can be found in this book by the Austrian Economist Ludwig von Mises. Mises will start you down the road of classical Liberalism (not to be confused with the modern abomination), of which further reading will include Lord Acton, Winston Churchill, and the protege of Mises, Friedrich Hayek.

This will keep you plenty busy, and the bibliographies in these books will keep you busy the rest of your life. You will soon realize that sports and entertainment in general are pale counterfeits for the wonderful and unique Heritage we have inherited. I guarantee SD has a commanding grasp of these writings. We all should too, so we can keep up better.

I just gave up Bruce Springsteen after 36 years and over 50 concerts. For the longest time I could ignore his political views, although it got very hard during the Obama years. About a year ago I saw a picture of him and his wife on some millionaire’s yacht with Barack and Michelle. That about did it for me. But I still hung on. However, his statement today blaming President Trump for the Coronavirus situation and the antifa-instigated chaos, in addition to blaming all police for what a few have done. Nope. That is too much. People who are not working in the ‘office’ now (zoom, teleconference, unenployed…) do not chat at the coffee machine about the latest team rumor as a non-political communication starter. Lots of commercial sports momentum has ground to a halt. It will be hard to get it back, especially when the best fans are hated by the extremely-highly-paid players, who are much richer than the fans they despise and falsely charge with racism. It used to be “Wow, our team’s player X just got a $20 million paycheck- I’m so proud !!!” Now the reaction is “this dufus who hates us makes so much money off our tickets and product purchases, it makes me sick – something is very wrong here. Disney is more dangerous than Google, Apple, and every other big tech company combined.

Of the top ten movies in 2019, seven were Disney productions. Disney made 11 billion dollars from movies last year, and took a third of the entire US box office.

Marvel is Disney. Star Wars is Disney. ABC is Disney. Fox Entertainment is Disney. National Geographic is Disney. The A&E, Lifetime, and the History cable networks are Disney. The despicable Vice Media is Disney. And of course, Disney is Disney.

Disney has a virtual monopoly on the stories that are consumed by the American public. Disney is the company which is creating the heroes, myths, and legends of future generations.

For those who think I may be exaggerating the problem: research what has happened to Marvel Comics over the last five years and the “heroes” Disney is now selling to children.

This isn’t just a business mistake, it’s a sign of nothing less than mass mental illness.

Ya know, I love football and hockey, but football is dead to me now

My wife is a huge football fan, and I’ve tried to let some things go because we both enjoy the sport so much, but they just keep pushing, keep pushing the bull**** on those of us who actually support and pay for their child’s game that keeps them all in the money

But now I’m done. Let them collect their multi-million dollar salaries from the support of the skinny little unemployed Antifa members. Let them pay for their million dollar mansions from all the money they’ll receive from the BLM’s activists and the street thugs

As we all know, something about radical leftist basement dwellers and transgendered freaks just screams out “we love and need football!”

I’d say you can’t get any stupider, but I’d be wrong, as every day we up the ante

Ok here’s the plan. PDT should reach out to the NBA & NFL. He should put the playas on the spot. Sports are kinda unfair too doncha think. I mean unfair as in only the people with money can attend. This season we should allow people from underserved communities to come in as many that the stadium/arena can hold; none will be turned away. They get access to skyboxes and the best seats available. If a season ticket holder is there you throw his ass out. We can no longer allow these greedy ticket holders first access because that would be wrong. Also if police do NOT end up quitting (I would) the players would go every night on a ride along to the underserved communities. Because I know they want to do their part…..gotta find humor somewhere. 😉

If you think the NFL is bad, check out the NBA. Those bastards sold out to China.

    “Let the market decide”

I cannot put my finger on it but there seems to be more than the consumer market choices at work any more. It was obvious during the pandemic with big “we are in this together” advertising campaigns launched during an economic assault when the first thing cut would normally be the advertising budget.

Money seems to flow in and out corporations aligned with the State agendas. TV revenue must be huge for the NFL. Something tells me there will be big advertisers for Bronco games regardless of viewership or ticket sales.

not if people stop buying the advertised products.
Because people who stop watching NFL games do not see the ads, or because people know who pays for the advertising and decide to avoid those advertisers.

I knew the NFL was going to reinsert itself when I saw that Jamie Dimon (JPMorgan Chase) staged a knelling photo-op earlier this week. The paradigm is being shifted: “taking a knee” is no longer going to be divisive… not taking a knee is going to be divisive. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

It’s about the money, always is. JPMorgan the largest bank in the US. The NFL is the largest professional sport in the US, and has a much higher market penetration in blue collar and flyover markets than all other professional sports combined. It is a powerful transmitter for Big Money to promote and advance its objectives.

PS: Do you know why John Elway cannot park his car in his garage? Someone painted a touchdown line in front of it.

Revoke the NFL’s tax exempt status. Twitter crossed a line. Seems the NFL has too.

Heh, all you laptop/mobile devices, do you know these big ole television sets make fantastic monitors for the internet? I don’t do cable, local, or any other type of news and I sure don’t watch those trashy streaming offers even though I own a smart device. No professional football, but i can sit here in my house and watch my local team play football or I can walk down the block and watch the Junior High. You know that you are contributing to the paid salaries if you even watch just one game. Don’t do it 😛

Quit watching MLB in the 70’s or 80’s when they went on strike and haven’t watched a game since. Stopped watching NFL when they started to take a knee and won’t ever watch another game. Stop giving them your money and see how it goes. I am even going to boycott their sponsors the best I can. Screw the NFL!

So I’m assuming that the Broncos will fire all of their stadium security staff so that fans can “express themselves” freely on Sundays . Now that would be must see TV!

I’ve always hated the broncos. The only reason I’ve stuck through with football is because I wanna see how far Belichick can take the Patriots dynasty.
I won’t be watching this season though.
I really don’t care anymore about it.
I’m sure my little bitty dollars won’t be enough to affect change.
I hate the left, they take all the joys of things I had and ruin it. Ugh
