        It would be over ridden in a minute if he did. The Senate passed it unanimously, and the House will or be close.

        Basically, what I am sailing is the ship has sailed. I just wonder how much it will cost me in taxes and inflation in the coming years.

            Holy crap!!!! Debbie Birx just said the British model that started this pandemic was wrong. 500,000 deaths was wrong. She now says the number is 20,000. That is the flu number. That is 1/3 the flu number!!! This is the biggest scam we have ever seen. Neil Ferguson needs to be prosecuted. WTF happened??? The vsg sniffed out this scheme.

              FTA: One of the people who has assisted in this panic over the coronavirus has been Neil Ferguson, who led the @imperialcollege authors who warned of 500,000 deaths and 2.2 million people would be infected from the coronavirus. Now, low and behold, Ferguson has himself tested positive for the virus and has suddenly announced a change of view. Ferguson has been a major contributing factor in causing the world economy to collapse. He has advocated locking down the economy which has been behind the movement around the world.

              I find this very curious that he would advocate shutting down the economy when he knows the economic damage this would have. The number of people whose jobs will be lost, and small businesses destroyed around the world is incalculable. Ferguson now says both that the U.K. should have enough ICU beds and that the coronavirus will probably kill under 20,000 people in the U.K. and interestingly he now admits that more than half of whom would have died by the end of the year in any case because they were so old and sick. Ferguson now predicts that the epidemic in the U.K. will peak and subside within “two to three weeks” after advocating 18+ months of quarantine would be necessary.

              Here’s an article from two days ago, citing the Oxford epidemiologist (Sunetra Gupta) who queried Ferguson’s model. It’s understandable for us laymen to read, but more importantly, it presents us with a good “model” for how to think critically (without being knee-jerk dubious) about the information we’re coming across daily.

              Only 14% of those tested are positive. Only 500,000 tests have been done. The vast majority of people with all three symptoms have another unknown virus. Those are also in the hospitals, just not positive for Corona. Also, we have plenty of ventilators. They aren’t getting used now!

Democrats will hold them hostage. I wish he had a line item Veto but he doesnt. Nancy and Chuck will use this media driven crisis to benefit their party. British epidemiologist who predicted over 2 million Americans — and 500k Brits — would die from coronavirus now says his model, which went viral, is wrong. Says England is unlikely to have more than 20k deaths & potentially much less. Whoops. https://www.newscientist.com/article/2238

    Clay Travis

    @ClayTravis
    He also says hospitals in UK should have enough beds to handle things & that instead of lasting 12-18 months virus is likely to peak in two or three weeks. So, yeah, he got everything completely wrong. Sadly, his correction will get a fraction of the attention of his fear porn.

    Clay Travis

    @ClayTravis
    3.28 million people in America, and tens of millions around the world, lost their jobs because of this man’s forecast & the media’s reckless propagation of that forecast. And now it turns out he was totally wrong. Absolute insanity.

      “As of March 19 COv-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious disease (HCID) in the UK. The public health bodies in the UK have reviewed the most up to date information about COV. They have determined that several factors have now changed; in particular, more information is available about the mortality rates (low overall) and there is now greater clinical awareness and a specific and sensitive lab test.”

      I shudder every time ANY of the “experts” (former spurts) aren’t we ALL?) says their decision/advice to the President is “DATA” driven.

      The Hillary campaign was such a jaugernaut, that it had a 99% chance of winning, right up until it lost?

      DATA driven!

      All the time me (and many of us) were growing up, stomach Ulcers were caused by stress, and they had MOUNTAINS of data, to back it up.
      DATA was WRONG.
      H.Pylori causes 99% of stomach ulcers, and STRESS has NOTHING to DO with it.

      Relying on DATA, is their way of ‘covering their ass’, ingrained in them in medical school. Its like the way Dr.’s put more weight behind lab tests, than all other diagnostic methods combined (signs, symptoms, patient and family history).

      Its NOT that labs are more reliable (they AREN’T); its that in COURT, treating by the labs is SAFE for the Dr.

      Since they are only a little over 50% accurate, not so much for the patient.

      Fortunately, PDJT has big balls, May of England indicates as big as basketballs.
      He gets the data, and the advice, but then he goes with his gut with confidence.

      He knows the former spurts can be wrong. After all, they all told him stopping travellers from CHI-NA was the wrong thing to do, and wouldn’t do any good.

      Screw their scewed data. Open er up.

    I’m getting tired. # of COVID-19 cases in Louisiana = (~) 2300; number of active HIV cases in Louisiana is >20,000. The state gets about a thousand new cases diagnosed each year. Baton Rouge’s and New Orleans’ HIV infection rates dwarf their COVID-19 rates yet we don’t hear anywhere near the sturm und drang about HIV anymore.

    Death rates from both HIV and COVID-19 are are easily diddled depending on what you want them to be (that fuzzy and fungible ‘underlying factors’ thing) but I don’t think there’s anyone who’ll argue that the HIV-related death rate is higher than the COVID-19 death rate (OK, you in the back, yea you, Cuomo, sit down and shut up!).

    We know live with HIV as it’s become a politically correct and acceptable disease, the COVID hasn’t attained that honor yet. Maybe when the public’s short attention span tires of the COVID coverage, the politicians run its political potential into the ground or the next ‘bright and shiny thing on a string’ comes along.

    Just going to say I called this the other day…

    I said we should expect to see something similar to what we saw happen in Puerto Rico recently– when vital hurricane supplies were found stashed in multiple warehouses.

    Only this time, it’s here & it’ll be essential medical supplies. Various Companies/Org’s we’ll be found to have stockpiled these items LONG ago! They had a specific agenda, & the Left ALWAYS plans ahead!!

    Somebody should look heavily into that CDC global “stockpiling” program (c.2017). It was meant to “prevent” what has now occurred– were there ever a global pandemic!! Funny that. 😠

              As far as Biden, I was simply trying to discern if you were an equal opportunity critic, so to speak. There’s a near comedic component to his “press conferences” what with all the mistakes. I think it’s more than a little self evident he’s in cognitive decline, and that’s sad. The fact that he’s the democrat front runner with all of the mistakes, and they KNOW it, and think they can hide it by not talking about it is the comedic component. Nothing funny about the cognitive decline. I’ve lost family members to Alzheimer’s.

Of course, the media spin this as if all 8000 are headed to the graveyard! How about a different ‘spin’. “Figures are showing there are nearly 8000 cases of people in stages of recovery……”. Since only 1 -1.5 % of the 8000 are deadly and the other 7950 most likely after a miserable few weeks of flu, will be jogging or playing tennis in a month or two. The dead count is not enough for the tv vampires. Exaggeration is their game..Serious bad flu, yes. Ebola, no.

      TestName7, Dutchman had a great comment yesterday about the flattening of the curve.
      In Italy there was a huge spike in cases that needed a lot of hospital equipment, e.g. ventilators, beds etc. Many people died and are dieting.

      We are hiding in our homes to avoid overwhelming our hospitals.
      The models that were used gave very scary numbers, currently what is seen on the ground is not coming close to the projection of the model. Off by a factor of 25. Like global warming, models and reality have to come close. If not I has to reevaluate.

      Was this an effort to harm this country, IMHO, YES.
      PDJT Did the right thing by closing the flights from China. I would be interested in knowing if any mention was made of the Wuhan issue in the PDB (Presidential Daily Briefings) given in December of 2019 and early January 2020.

      During the early part of January was impeachment, impeachment and impeachment. With my tin foil hat, would say that this is the next chapter of attempting to take out PDJT.

    Would like to hear the President call out the governors of the states and mayors of municipalities complaining about the aid package, by asking if they even bother consulting with members of congress (especially those of their own party) about the needs of their state and cities.

    Have not heard a peep out the democrat governors nor mayors about the pork stuffed into this bill by democrats being prioritized over the needs being proclaimed by the governors and mayors.

        Oh, it’s even worse. As pointed out by Rep. Zeldin on twitter, there is an issue w/ Medicaid. If States work to save even $1, then they don’t get the extra Medicaid money. McConnell put a fix for that into the bill. Schumer CANCELLED IT! So, tell me again, Cuomo, who is to blame for that bit? Maybe Schumer is afraid Trump w/ win NYS, so keep the money away as a talking point?

    Up here in Canada the Liberal media are having a hey day talking about Covid as if it were the black death. Just today a reporter was on the TV offering the rate of world infection numbers if we had not taken steps to stop the spread. She warns before showing the numbers, “be prepared” the numbers are huge.” She goes on to say that fully 7 billion would have been infected and up to 40, million would have died! Seriously, these were to her alarming numbers. So divide 40 million by 7 billion and you have a death rate of .005. Seriously, we have shut the world economy down for a death rate that is 1/4 the normal flu rate.

    But, she says, fortunately because we put in place some measures to stop the spread, the death rate will be far less than half the expected rate. Can’t make this stuff up. The death rate will end up somewhere around .0025 and we have shut the world down for this. 30 Trillion in losses. How many deaths will result from that I wonder?

          Another excellent question that no one is asking! When my mother in law died twenty years ago , her official cause of death was pneumonia (which she contracted while being shuffled between the hospital and various nursing homes over a course of two months.) However, the reason for the frequent hospitalizations was Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, and severe emphysema, caused by 50 years of smoking 2-3 packs a day. To list pneumonia, without including the rest of the underlying issues, would have been grossly misleading and I very much fear that is what is happening in this COVID-19 hysteria!!

        As has happened, time after time, if we’re PATIENT, the narrative ALWAYS turns in PDJT’s favor.

        For instance, it seems obvious to me Italy and Chinas economies are going to take a major “hit”.

        The question is; HOW LONG will they take to recover?

        And, part of the answer is that their economies were in poor shape, BEFORE the virus ever hit.

        OUR U.S. Economy is ALSO going to take a hit, no doubt. However, if we have a quick economic rebound, in comparison to others.

        It will further demonstrate the Beauty of “Economic Security is,National Security”;
        The economy of a country is like its immune system. A strong economy means it can catch “the flu” and quickly fight it off and go on.

        However, a country with a weak, ailing economy, with chronic underlieing conditions, not so much.

        If we ARE able to flatten the curve on the virus, so hospitals nationwide don’t get overwhelmed, except perhaps in a few, high density areas our system of free market economy, innovative freedom of thought, etc. is going to be shown as superior, for the whole world to see.

        NOT to dance, while people are suffering and dieing, but I see tremendous upside potential from all this.
