Obama’s current thinking (leaked by anonymous sources):

Why didn’t Brennan and Clapper tell me that that a magic wand was not needed to bring back manufacturing jobs and revive the American economy. If they had, I wouldn’t have said the stupid lie that now denies ME credit for Trump’s miracles. I guess they had no clue, and neither had I. But I have to admit that lying comes easy to me. Oh well!”

  3. David says:

PDJT NUCLEAR WEAPON has been feared and challenged for 3-years by (Rinos, Left, Media, Coup, Criminals and Globalist) WHY! Because PDJT can destroy their 20-year plan and prosecute them all.

PDJT 100% “knew” his most important nuclear weapon since Nov 2016 (Political Secret): The President ultimately makes the “Call” and “All” Powers are Derived through the President in regards to “ALL” of the Functions in the Department of Justice.

The President has taken and Arms-Length approach for “Political Reasons” between the President and the FBI/DOJ for about 3-years. The President appears, finally to be backing away from this political posture of just giving clues/hints for the past 3 years. NOW is the time to educate the public of the President’s Constitutional Power over the DOJ/FBI. Why! We are at war and fighting for our survival.

This is a Legal Civil War for the Constitution; use the Constitution as written and win this Legal Civil War easily.

I have posted repeatedly for 3-years; PDJT gives many hints/glues while campaigning for the Presidency and as President. One hint/clue PDJT gave several times, is that he may have to get involved in the FBI/DOJ to implement justice, if necessary.

Today, PDJT is starting to explain his true powers given to the President by the Constitution; PDJT is the Chief Justice Officer of the United States. Finally, I’ve waited 3-years for this moment.

These words by the President are creating fear/worry to the Rinos, Left, Media, Coup, Criminals and Globalist. This Power given to PDJT is his/our Insurance Policy for Justice allowing the President to Micro-Manage the DOJ/FBI and creating many paths for Guaranteed Justice (Prosecutions).

I have noticed for 3-years the Rinos, Left, Media, Coup, Criminals and Globalist has been repeating; the DOJ/FBI is an independent agency (a separate Universe). This is Fake News, Fake Facts and ignoring the Constitution. I usually posted the Presidents power immediately to counter their fake news for the past 3-years. Today, this is becoming a Major Battle for obvious reasons.

The Media/Left/Coup/Globalist/Criminals ignore the Constitution that was clearly displayed in the Impeachment hearings because they do not believe or like the results; Indictment/Prosecutions and their 20-year plan of Globalism destroyed forever.

    Main Reason-1
One of many main reasons that I was 100% assured/positive that PDJT was going to implement Justice in Nov. 2016, was PDJT Powers given by Constitution to “Directly Micro Manage” the DOJ/FBI if necessary.

    Main Reason-2
PDJT “Intentionally/Knowingly” Checkmated himself into Equal Justice (Prosecutions) for over 3-years by the Presidents consistent “Acknowledgements” of Criminal Acts. These “Acknowledgements” along with mountains of evidence, created a bound (sworn) duty to implement Justice. Anything less would be a dereliction of duty, destroying the Rule of Law the shield that protects the Constitution, United States, American People, the President and his Family.

    Main Reaon-3
PDJT knew (Secretly with hints/clues etc.) that his real main number one goal that will be known throughout history is Justice (Prosecutions). PDJT knew MAGA would be destroyed when he leaves office without the Rule of Law (common-sense). MAGA needed to be accomplished because this was the main core (engine) to create PDJT Power to implement Justice by prosecuting the largest criminal enterprise in U.S. history.

PDJT Tweets/Interviews slamming Barr’s Complaint about his Boss.
There is a Legal Civil War and Barr is complaining about PDJT tweets. PDJT needed to go nuclear with his Power over the DOJ/FBI because Barr and the Media/Left/Coup are trying to take away PDJT nuclear weapon of implementing Justice (Many Paths) in case Barr backs-down.

    Tom Fitton Tweeted:
    1. Fraud of Historic Proportions And DOJ is Complaining About \’s Tweets?
    2. Remarkable.as a positive constitutional obligation to speak up about DOJ corruption.

    I have posted the following 9-items for over 3-years to defy the Press;

    1. The Constitution states Attorney General Reports to the President not Congress.
    2. The Constitution does not say the DOJ/FBI is an independent agency (Like Comey, Hoover did and how Congress Implies).
    3. The Department of Justice and the FBI are Entities that serve at the Pleasure of the President.
    4. Congress can’t pressure Attorney General into agreeing he/she doesn’t serve the President because the President would not be serving the people according to the Constitution.
    5. The Constitution gives the Congress oversight powers, they could fund, inquire what an agency is doing, they do not appoint people to the agency and people in the agencies do not report to them.
    6. The President has the authority to talk to FBI and the Attorney General about Crimes and Investigations, what-ever the Oval Office “Wants”. If Congress doesn’t like this, they would have to change the law (Constitution).
    7. The DOJ and the FBI are part of the Executive Branch in which America Voters appointed the President to oversee “ALL” of the DOJ and FBI.
    8. The Certificate for both the Attorney General and the New FBI Director -there is only President Trumps Name, not the Congress.
    9. If PDJT believes the Constitution is at risk as a result of corruption and there is a paper/digital trail of evidence that PDJT sees and the American People sees; PDJT has a sworn duty to make sure the DOJ/FBI are doing their sworn duty and prosecute those criminal acts if the standard of evidence is within normal prosecutorial guidelines.

    PDJT is Not Allowed to:
    1. PDJT is not allowed to instruct the FBI/DOJ to open an investigation of criminal acts that do not meet normal Investigative/Prosecutorial policies and procedures. NO PROBLEM: It is way beyond meeting these policies/procedures by many light years.
    2. PDJT is not allowed to instruct the FBI/DOJ to distort facts and alter evidence. NO PROBLEM: There are Mountains of paper/digital/testimonies trails of true factual evidence.
    3. PDJT is not allowed to apply laws that do not exist. NO PROBLEM; The Criminal Codes match exactly to the alleged criminal acts.

PDJT for the past 3-years, intentionally prearranged and created a Demand for Justice by the American People knowing this day would finally come. The Major Justice Battle of the Century.

Do not panic during this battle; the Constitutional Power to the President is written and he will win.

President Trump is holding an Unbeatable Hand for Easy Prosecution

      Great Post David! 100% agreed!

Not only are they ignoring the Constitution; they are writing their own Constitution.

The Constitution clearly states the President controls the DOJ & FBI.

The Constitution should be used in its original form.

Constitution is not the law that governs us, it governs those who govern us, and they should not be able to change the meaning of the law that governs them, without going through the amendment process. No more than you and I can change the laws that govern us, without going through the legislative process.

The DOJ is an Executive Dep’t, and the Attorney General, a cabinet position. As such, both are under the direct control of the Executive.

However I also know that the Judiciary Act of 1789 (when Congress essential established the entire Federal Court system) also established the office of the Attorney General. So, if the AG is a creation of the Legislature, yet also a Cabinet member, it appears he serves two masters. And what’s a proper role for an AG anyway? Wingman, like for Dems–almost a personal lawyer for the Pres,or something much more separate?

As to your larger point, I hope you’re right about what Trump is signalling and that he’s about to unleash the hounds of hell.

      • IGiveUp says:

Should have added that I favor the AG serving fully at the discretion of the President–like the Dem AG’s did. If I have a problem with that, I vote against the President. IMHO, the office of the AG is too exalted. He/she should help the Pres.by running the DOJ for him, not for himself. We have a separate branch of government to mete out justice. Perhaps we ought to just call the DOJ the US atty’s office.

      • 7delta says:

Congress appropriately placed each under the authority of the correct branch. The Judiciary (SCOTUS/established by the Constitution) is over the Federal Court System, and the AG (DOJ) is under the direct supervision of the Constitutionally granted powers of the Executive (Branch.)

Power cannot be given by or through a branch that doesn’t possess that power.

Congress, in its Constitutional role, makes the law and has oversight, just like the other two branches have checks over Congress. It has no enforcement or judicial authority.

The Chief Executive has the Constitutional authority and the mandate to ensure laws are faithfully executed, that justice is properly pursued and applied equally (civil rights is a federal authority; political is controlled by the States) and to ensure that the U.S.is properly represented in any issue that falls under the federal government’s Constitutional authority. It has enforcement authority, but cannot make law or assume the role of the court. Through that executive authority, the DOJ operates to those ends.

The judiciary tries cases and runs the courts, according to the law. It has no enforcement authority or authority to make law and cannot function impartially as judge, prosecution and defense. Prosecution and defense must be separate. That’s where the DOJ comes in, as well as private attorneys who represent clients in federal courts.

        Checks and balances.

        • Issy says:

The ignorance over the Constitutional powers of the Executive Branch is in large part due to Civics/Government not being taught in the schools anymore. An ignorant population accepts what democrats and the media tell them about Executive Branch powers.

Just thinking about your comment: As to your larger point, I hope you’re right about what Trump is signalling and that he’s about to unleash the hounds of hell.

IMO; P/T doing anything less than his bound duty if Barr fails, of using the powers given to the President by the Constitution, to ensure normal investigative/prosecutorial policies and procedures are followed, when the evidence known/seem by P/T and the American people clearly show that there is far more evidence (way beyond) to open up investigations, according to policies and procedures of any prosecutor office in the United States, would be complete destruction of the United States when P/T leaves office.

Anything less would be truly a dereliction of the President’s duty.

Someone posted previously; the consequences of no justice, is equal to the United States losing any of the world wars, even the revolutionary war.

President Trump history of his courage, brilliance and being a fighter; P/T would not betray the American people or himself/family and will use his powers. Especially when these are easy prosecution criminal’s cases.

I never think of P/T losing this legal civil war; that would be like constantly thinking a large meteorite might destroy planet earth.

    • Janice says:

      Thank You David!
I was counting the minutes for President Trump tweets/comments, after Barr made his disturbing/stupid statements about President Trump’s tweets

P/T did 2-tweets regarding criminal acts the very next morning. I still was not happy.

P/T went nuclear (explosive) with about 14 tweet a few days later along with a press conference indirectly telling Barr; I’m the President of the United States and I’m your boss. You are not an independent agency. I have power over you and the DOJ/FBI. The American people have seen the evidence of corruption way beyond a reason doubt. I have acknowledged criminal acts for over 3-years that created a bound duty to implement Justice.

P/T is telling Barr, indirectly, I will implement justice with or without you.

  9. That Kate McFarland interview above (81/2 minutes and interviewers let her talk ) is must listen . Unbelievable, I had no idea that she was given the Flynn/ George Pap. full treatment by the Mueller Gestapo after she left WH in 2017. She said it was a scary /intense experience where they showed up at her doorstep with all her WH papers that she had duly and properly turned in when she left , and intensely questioned her about things she couldn’t exactly recall without refreshing her memory from records which they refused to let her. Wanted her to plead guilty to something or rat out others or else! It was a close thing and she almost did for financial lawyer expenses but her husband said no way and she refused and they backed off. She says basically the permanent Deep State Gestapo (doesn’t use those words) reacts viciously to all threats and VSGT is the very real current threat to them.

yeah i read about that yesterday. The part I didn’t get was this:

“but her husband said no way and she refused and they backed off. ‘ In the article I read yesterday, she said something like, we just refused to give in.

My guess is there was more to it. Maybe she wasn’t threatened with an FBI investigation of her children or maybe her name hadn’t been added to some newer scope memo that Rosenstein was conniving with. I just found it hard to understand that in the final analysis, McFarland got them to back off by saying no when Flynn was hounded to the ends of the earth.

      • Deb says:

She’s a small fish. The case against Flynn had already been manufactured when they implied they’d go after his son if he didn’t back down. Flynn’s mistake was thinking a guilty plea would be quick and less painful for his family. The whole point is to destroy him.

Yes, it does seem like Trump has been patient in allowing the process to work. Trump allowed the American people to see how the game is played:
When corruption is uncovered, the same small group of corrupt players across all segments of government and media – use the same move over and over again.

They leak a weak and bogus story to a compliant press, that allows them to open an investigation into anyone who gets in the way of their objectives and then, if the honorable individuals don’t join the dark side or cooperate, they completley and utterly destroy them. It’s pretty simple really. Same trick over and over again.

Had Trump used the full force of his powers back in 2017, the American people would not have understood the scope of what needed to be done to restore the rule of law.

China Cancels Important ‘Two Sessions’ Meeting As Fight Against Coronavirus Intensifies

The Communist Party is reportedly canceling their so-called “Two Sessions” parliamentary meeting set for early March as the government’s sole task now turns to beating the coronavirus out of China.

Xinhua newswire reported after market hours on Monday that the National People’s Congress (NPC) meeting will “almost certainly” be postponed. Everyone is taking that as a definite.

Zang Tiewei, a spokesman for the NPC legislative affairs commission, told Xinhua that deferring the March meeting “was necessary to give officials more time to work on containing” the coronavirus epidemic. Zang said one third of the national legislators were also local officials who have responsibilities back home. [Yeah, their bureacratic butts need to stay out of the way of actual experts, meaning that the meeting is cancelled toprotect THEM from catching something – Z] No new date for the meeting has been announced.

    21 Feb 2020

Meanwhile… China continues to pretend it is successfully containing the virus, although it apparently can’t even do that. One week after Beijing reported nearly 15,000 new cases after a change in the definition of “infection”, China reverted back to the original definition in hopes of drastically reducing the number of new cases and boosting people’s confidence it was successfully containing the pandemic. The result was that the number of new cases on Feb 19 was just 391, one of the lowest since the start of the pandemic, and a far cry from the 15,000 new cases reported a week earlier. Alas, in its ambition to get people back to work, the case number was too low and nobody believed it, resulting in even greater self-quarantining as China’s population increasingly believes that Beijing is no longer telling it the truth and is willing to sacrifice the population just so some factories can resume production.

Meanwhile, as China bounces around between one definition and another, in hopes of finding some “just right” middle ground between reporting too many cases and sparking a market crash, or too few cases and leading to social violence as people on the ground certainly know just how bad it truly is, Beijing is now losing all credibility and even China’s best friend in the US, Bloomberg, writes that “Hubei Changes Virus Count Method With Data Mistrust Growing.” This happened after on Thursday China reported that it had just 349 additional confirmed cases, compared with almost 1,700 additional cases from the day before; the number then doubled to 889 on Friday as China appears to have given up on any pretense at reporting data objectively.

The irony, of course, is that the more China manipulates the data, the less anyone will believe a positive outcome for the epidemic and will instead claim that this is just the result of Chinese propaganda: “It points to a rather concerning confusion over how best to officially report the number of cases, leading to a loss of confidence in the true numbers,” said Jeffrey Halley, a Singapore-based senior market analyst with Oanda Asia Pacific Pte. “That could mean that internationally, the rest of the world keeps China in lockdown for longer, which will not be good for the ‘V-shaped recovery’ projections.”

As reported previously, the latest changes cast doubt over whether the drop in new cases – a positive sign that the epidemic is coming under control at the epicenter – is actually happening. In recent days, China’s leaders have scrambled to project optimism over the outbreak, which has shut down large parts of its economy and plunged industries from retail to aviation into crisis. Companies and factories across China are now being urged to re-start economic activity, while Chinese premier Li Keqiang said on Monday that the outbreak is on “a positive trend.”

What Li meant is that Beijing is willing to sacrifice healthy citizens by commingling them with potentially infected ones, if it means that China’s GDP, already set for a record plunge, can be pushed up just a bit. Of course, none of this is lost on the people, and in a country where the biggest morbid fear is one where the middle class rises up and overthrows the communist parasites in charge, there is a distinct possibility that by telegraphing to the people just how worthless their lives are to Beijing, the instead of delivering a “positive trend” for the outbreak, China’s ruthless rulers may soon be on the receiving end of what happens when 1.4 billion Chinese grab the pitchforks and go after those who are willing to risk their lives if only it means that the “quota met” bonus payment for 2020 is made.

Sounds like you are very careful about protecting yourself. Your symptoms may be a consequence of taking such care.

You may have set settings to be very restrictive and that may be the cause. Firefox has settings, you may have added extensions that have such settings, such as an adblocker, and some security software could be interfering as well.

It may be hard to do now, but the best diagnostic tool would be to remember what things you changed two weeks ago. Especially if it was the same day the tweets disappeared.

Short of such an epiphany, you may have a lot of experimental trial and error ahead of you to find what is causing the problem and how you can find a compromise that allows the software to function yet still protects you.

              Good luck.

Bill, Also check if you have any extensions enabled that may be blocking the Twitter feeds from showing. Any ad blockers or privacy filters. Open Settings…then ‘Add-ons’…then click ‘Extensions’ on the left. Disable any enabled extensions and reload the page to see if the twitter feeds show. If they show then one of your extensions is blocking the content. You need to re-enable extensions one by one and check until you find the extension that is blocking twitter.

For example, I have the DuckDuckGo Privacy extension installed in Firefox and if it is turned on when I visit here then the Twitter feeds don’t show, so I have it disabled for this site.

Bill, I have FireFox but usually use Chrome (and don’t have that issue).

So, for you, I tried via FireFox – and I see what you mean!

Here’s how I fixed it in FireFox:

At the top line of the browser, just to the left of the URL, are both a “lock” icon and a “shield” icon.

A “drop-down” open, and it says (among other things): “Enhanced tracking protection is ON for this site”

On the right of those words is a “toggle”.

It will change to say: “Enhanced tracking protection is OFF for this site”, and the page will refresh, and the tweets will appear (and the “shield” will become “grayed-out).

At least, it fixed things on mine.

I had the same problem with Firefox and was able to fix it. I tried to find the button I clicked in one of the settings, but I couldn’t find it. It was a button about allowing twitter popups, or something like that.

I have Ghostery and DuckDuckGo installed in the browser, and if I remember correctly, it was a setting in duckduckgo privacy essentials, but again, I just can’t remember and now the button seems to be gone, now that I enabled popups.

Sorry, best I can do is suggest hunting for the twitter popup button in the various settings menu within the browser and in the add-ons that you have.

Clearing the cache did not help, but it did wipe out all my stored passwords, settings, etc.

Eric Holder calls for limiting Supreme Court justices to 18 year terms, ensuring that each President gets two picks per term. No constitutional amendment necessary.”

Well, well, well. Holder recognizes the odds of democrats winning in 2020 are slim, but he wants a way to stop Trump from doing what democrats would do if they won——-which is to appoint a SC Justice just like everyone else has since the beginning.

And just as soon as democrats win the White House he would want to go back to lifetime appointments, but only for democrat picks. Right?

Note that Holder never suggested this under Obama. Funny, that.

Anything to get an angle for the democrats.

      • Obviously, an Amendment would be required, since the Constitution now says that justices ” shall hold their Offices during good Behavior.” (Sec. 3.1.1.) If you want to impose a term limit, this section must be amended.

While it is true the “executive power” is vested in the office of the Presidency, so the President can claim Chief Law Enforcement Officer status, the AG and all the federal prosecutors are all attorneys and generally act by filing actions in the federal courts, which invokes the Judicial Power of the United States, all of which is vested in the federal courts. So the AG is subject to both the President’s executive power, and with most of DOJ’s actions, to the Judicial Power, as well. So Barr has a lot of rules to follow that do not bind the President, and also must maintain lawyerlike relationships with all the judges before whom his lawyers appear. Where I fault Varr most is in his personnel decisions, over which he,representing the President has plenary control. Barr’s tolerance of rank insubordination and partisanship is deeply troubling and unforgivable, unless he’s just letting the last remnants of resistance hang themselves.dpple@sbcglibal.net

    • Jim in TN says:

The President is also commanded (Article 2 Section 3) to ‘take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed’. Shall is the legal equivalent to a command. A President must act to address abuse of justice.

BTW, the Solicitor General does need to argue in court. The AG and DAG are pencil pushers who benefit from experience, but can hire experienced counselors. Maybe they have requirements to be lawyers, and most likely they will continue to function as lawyers afterwards, but the need for legal experience is overstressed.

I think sometimes we forget the vital importance of making the President responsible for everything that happens. Not only did we vest ALL executive power in the President, but we used to require that he hire all employees, not just make some appointments. This deep state crap could never happen if we went back to that principle.

When people complain about the Senior Executive Service that Jimmy Carter created, what is often missed is that the SES was a deliberate mechanism to isolate government employees and agencies from political direction of a President’s appointees. There are strict limits to how many of these positions that can be filled politically.

We keep going in the wrong direction. And the Clintons and Obamas all still had ways to work their appointees into permanent SES type positions. Tailor made for Deep State resistance and rebellion.

Chinese coronavirus patient reinfected 10 days after leaving hospital
Health officials in China’s Sichuan confirm recovering patient tested positive for COVID-19
    20 Feb 2020

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A Chinese patient who just recovered from the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) has reportedly been infected for the second time in the province of Sichuan, according to local health officials.

On Wednesday (Feb. 19), the People’s Daily reported that a man in Sichuan’s capital Chengdu had tested positive for the virus during a regular check-up just ten days after being discharged from the hospital. The report said he had previously been cleared of the virus by medical staff.

The Sichuan Health Commission confirmed the news on Friday (Feb. 21) and issued a community warning announcement in the patient’s neighborhood. The announcement said that the man and his family had been transported to a nearby health facility on Thursday morning (Feb. 20) and that health officials had sanitized the entire community, reported Liberty Times.

According to ETtoday, the patient and his family had been under home quarantine and had not left the house since Feb. 10. The authorities are still investigating the cause of the reinfection.

The news has stirred up heated reactions from Chinese netizens. Some suspect that the hospital discharged the man before he was fully recovered, and many have expressed concern about the worsening epidemic.

Several doctors from Wuhan, the epicenter of COVID-19, said last week that it is possible for recovered patients to contract the virus a second time. They warned that a recurring infection could be even more damaging to a patient’s body and that the tests are susceptible to false negatives.

Deep State Agencies Refuse to Confirm Existence of Ciaramella Communications with Strzok, Page, McCabe
by Cristina Laila February 21, 2020

    Eric Ciaramella

The Deep State is still covering for the anti-Trump CIA ‘whistleblower’ Eric Ciaramella and refusing to confirm nor deny the existence of records related to his communications with FBI officials involved in the conspiracy to take out President Trump.

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch requested communications between Eric Ciaramella and former FBI CI chief Peter Strzok, former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and the Special Counsel’s office.

The Department of Justice and the CIA both responded to Judicial Watch and refused to confirm the existence of records related to Ciaramella.

In accordance with section 3.6(a) of Executive Order 13526, the CIA can neither confirm nor deny the existence or nonexistence of records responsive to the requests. The fact of the existence or nonexistence of such records is itself exempt from FO IA under exemption (b )(3) and Section 6 of the CIA Act of I 949, 50 U.S.C. § 3507, and, to the extent your request could relate to CIA intelligence sources and methods information, the fact of the existence or nonexistence of such records is exempt from FOIA under exemption (b)( I) and exemption (b)(3) in conjunction with Section 102A(i)(l) of the National Security Act of 1947, 50 U.S.C § 3024(i)( I).

This completes our response to the above referenced cases.

The Justice Department also refused to confirm or deny the existence of responsive records, citing, among other justifications, the personal privacy of Ciaramella.

Eric Ciaramella’s name appeared in the Mueller report in a footnote and his name also appeared in transcripts of witnesses who testified in the impeachment hearings so there really is no excuse for this type of response from the Justice Department.

“The CIA and Justice Department are covering up information about the alleged whistleblower behind the abusive impeachment of President Trump,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “CIA operative Ciaramella is documented to be involved in the Russia collusion investigation and was a key CIA operative on Ukraine in the both the Obama and Trump White Houses. The incredible secrecy about his activities shows that the DOJ and CIA are trying to cover-up rather than expose any agency abuses that led to unprecedented attacks on President Trump.

    • I remain unconvinced that the actual “whistleblower” was anyone other than Adam Schiff himself.

I also believe that Schiff thought that someone could swap the transcript with the forgery that he was reading to his committee.

The way I see it, nothing can help these people’s non-existent campaigns. All of them are acting as though absolutely nothing changed in 2016, when the simple truth is that “everything changed, and it will never change back.” The Democrats don’t have a candidate – and we already know who their candidate will be. The fundamental nature of the US Presidency changed instantaneously, and they did not.

US and Taliban agree to ceasefire that could see most American forces leave Afghanistan
February 21, 2020 9:00 AM By Robert Spencer

The US/Taliban peace talks are a grim charade. No one in the foreign policy establishment will acknowledge the fact, but the Taliban are strict, Sharia-observant Muslims, and the Sharia guidelines for treaty-making with Infidels are based on Muhammad’s Treaty of Hudaybiyya. Muslims can only enter into such a treaty when they are weak and need time to gather their strength (or, more remotely, if they think the enemy is about to convert to Islam). Then they can break it when it is no longer needed.

        • Actually, it must also be understood that “the Taliban” is not the Government of Afghanistan. They are tribal radicals. They do not have a military structure; they are not a military organization. They are not typical of the mind-set, beliefs and dreams of the people of this ancient land. (Neither Iraq nor Iran.) I sincerely believe, though, that they leveraged our never-ending military presence towards achieving their own ends. They subjugated their own people.

I don’t know exactly when the people of these nations will begin to take their country back, but I would like to see it happen in my lifetime. I actually think that sharply reducing our presence there, and re-defining what any remaining presence must be, will do a lot toward bringing actual peace and prosperity back to them.

CDC Media Telebriefing: Update on COVID-19
    21 Feb 2020

    Small excerpt from YouTube auto-transcript:

We never expected that we would catch every single traveler with novel coronavirus returning from China given the nature of this virus and how it’s spreading. That would be simply impossible. I want to be clear that we’re not seeing community spread here in the United States yet, but it’s very possible, even likely that it may eventually happen.

Our goal continues to be following the introduction of the virus into the U.S. to provide us more time to prepare our communities for more cases and possibly sustained spread. This new virus represents a tremendous public health threat.

We don’t yet have a vaccine for this novel virus nor do we have a medicine to treat it specifically. We are now taking and will continue to take unprecedented aggressive action to reduce the impact of this virus that it will [“will” instead of “may”? Freudian slip? – Z] have on the communities in the US. We are working with state local and territorial health department’s to ready our public health workforce to respond to local cases and the possibility this outbreak could become a pandemic.

We are working closely with healthcare systems across the country to reinforce infection control principles and plan for surges of people seeking and requiring care. We’re collaborating with supply chain partners to understand what medical supplies are needed and available. [too late now – MOST are made in China and they’re using their stuff – Z] This will help CDC understand what we mean when we may need to take more aggressive measures to ensure that health care workers on the frontlines have access to the supplies that they need we’re working with businesses, hospitals, pharmacies, clinicians, manufacturers and distributors to communicate about these measures and what they can do to get ready.

I want to direct everyone to a document that will be very informative in terms of what people can expect in the coming weeks if the virus starts spreading in our community. This is an MMWR recommendations and report titled “Community Mitigation Guidelines to Prevent Endemic Influenza – United States, 2017:

We are reviewing all of our pandemic preparedness materials and adapting them to COVID-19. These materials will serve as a blueprint for the community interventions that we will use here in the US. If you’re watching the news you may be hearing about schools shutting down and businesses closing in countries in Asia to reduce the potential spread of this virus. The day may come when we will need to implement such measures in US communities. [imagine the hit to our economy – Z]

By next week we expect to be posting a new webpage focused on what CDC is already doing to mitigate transmission in communities. We recognize the uncertainty of the current situation.
