Deadly Crash Involving Bus Carrying Covington Catholic High School Students…

This is terrible.  For unknown reasons a car crossed the median on a highway in Kentucky and drove directly into a bus carrying students from Covington High School.  The driver of the car was killed, some of the bus passengers were injured including the bus driver.

The students were returning home after the March for Life rally in Washington DC.

CALIFORNIA, Ky. — One person is dead and several are injured following a head-on crash involving a charter bus carrying Covington Catholic students, Campbell County police said.

The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of the AA Highway at California Crossroads in Campbell County.

According to witnesses on the scene, a southbound car somehow entered the northbound lanes of the highway, striking the charter bus head-on.

“I saw a car come across the median and head toward me,” said Ricky Lynn, a witness who was also driving north. “I was able to get out of the way.”

The driver of the wrong-way car was pronounced dead at the scene. That driver’s name has not been released.

Two people on the bus were taken to area hospitals for treatment, and others suffered minor injuries. The motor coach driver suffered a minor knee injury, the bus company said.

The bus was full of Covington Catholic High School students and several parent chaperones, who were returning from the March for Life rally in Washington. The bus was one of four in a caravan, carrying a total of about 200 passengers. (read more)

My guess is this driver tried to overtake a truck going past the broken yellow.

The ability to target someone like this is pretty low. They don’t even know which road the bus will take from DC- could be I71 from Columbus, Route 52, even 71 up from Lexington.

In our area, which is at the confluence of several major Interstate highways, several head-on collisions occur every year in the four-lane because of drivers who were drunk, who fell asleep at the wheel, or who became impaired in some other way and who then ended up headed the wrong way towards oncoming traffic. In other words, it happens all the time.

I’ve heard that drunks driving the wrong way are often in the left lane (thinking it is their right lane) especially when they first get onto the road. Good thing to know if you’re driving in the wee hours.

We had a wrong-way driver appear out of nowhere, in the left lane of the parkway on a Sunday afternoon. We were driving with our kids to a basketball game, and he suddenly appeared over the crest of a bridge right in front of us.

The driver swerved onto the median to avoid the crash. We had no time to react. There was a lot of traffic, so he couldn’t have been driving the in wrong lane for too long. He probably had come down an exit ramp, thinking it was the entrance to the parkway.

That is so so sad. They were almost home. Prayers go out to the driver’s family and all on the bus that were injured. I hadn’t even noticed this today as we had a shooting last night in a local restaurant where over 15 shots were fired and 2 men were killed. This whole town is in an uproar about the need for guns and whether to outlaw them. Crime has grown in our town—we are the 3rd largest city in Kentucky. It just keeps getting worse. That area up north that this crash happened is a very congested area. I hate traveling that area.

The key with any prosecutions, which I HOPE are coming, not that I feel all that confident with these seditionists being brought to justice, is they almost have to be iron clad. The left will of course claim they are revenge, which to a point they are given the nature of these attacks against Trump. If the case against them is solid it helps slow the propaganda machine from looking to exonerate them. The Democratic National Socialists will defend these who acted in sedition, or possibly treason, but blunting their rhetoric with a solid case against them, it makes their defense of these criminals another blowback against them.
I just have doubts about Barr who seems to have been involved too many years in the swamp to have come through without corruption.

I’d like to wait a bit before passing judgment on what happened. That said, It does seem that every person standing up to the corrupt in today’s time has a “coincidental” event like this happening to them.

That it is becoming more commonplace gives the appearance that the Corrupt are getting openly brazen…or openly desperate…about it all – daring people to stop them.

It is also possible that if the driver of the car was intentionally doing this they were going straight at the bus figuring the bus driver would swerve out of the way to avoid the car and then roll the bus. The bus didn’t swerve (enough) and they crashed.

Not many cars are actually steerable electronically. I can’t find info on the car in the crash, but it looks like a generic mid-level car from a few years back.

I also consider it incredibly implausible that a newspaper or other lawsuit defendant could hire someone to do this intentionally.

Short of some really astounding proof, the only two plausible stories are 1) accident and 2) suicidal (and gullible) person who decided on their own to attempt a murder/suicide.

And that second one will need some heavy proof too, but it isn’t unheard of – many true believers have taken it on their own initiative to attack people who have been demonized by the press. All of the examples that pop into my mind are people who attacked the right after listening to the left-wing press, but I’m almost certain it has gone the other direction before too.

I hope it was an accident, but either way, I’m praying for the deceased, be he unlucky or misguided, and his family, and the students and their families.

My mind was suspicious, but odds of an intentional event are low. For Sundance to post it, I expected some significant additional evidence of foul play other than coincidence. The Covington kids are a visible political entity, but several things crossed my mind, already mentioned above..

The odds of doing harm to a bus with a car is small.
It killed the driver. That makes it more likely an accident unless it is a suicide bomber.
This is fresh, there are very little facts, and no evidence of foul play.

Hadn’t thought about hacking computerized cars (especially Telsas). Engineers — how possible is that really?

America is hungry for truth, facts, logic. We are tired of being manipulated by fear, drama, innuendo.

MY spider sense was alerted to possible overreaction by Sundance’s writing “This is terrible”, when nobody on the bus was killed; that is the only “odd” thing I have seen in this incident so far. Without evidence of wrongdoing, the commonality of such accidents says the most likely cause was a heart attack or falling asleep at the wheel.

Deer are also active along the AA and the other driver may have swerved, etc. Seems like an incredible coincidence.
