HPSCI Ranking Member Devin Nunes questioned NSC official Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman about whether he had shared the contents of the phone call between President Trump and Ukraine President Zelensky with anyone outside the White House.
In responding Vindman stated “two people”, and then named State Dept George Kent, and a person from the intelligence community. Then things get interesting. Vindman refused to name the intelligence agency because it would likely expose the CIA “whistle-blower”.
This non-answer makes Alexander Vindman the source for the CIA “whistleblower” Eric Ciaramella.
Can you imagine the response from a democrat Senator to Vindman if he had corrected one of them about his rank? Remember Barbara Boxer’s response to a flag officer for responding to her as “yes, ma’am.”. Don’t be mistaken, democrats despise the uniformed services, all of them; it just so happens that Vindman is a willing accomplice.

No doubt – every damn day until he meets height & weight standards!
There are very few things more disgusting to look at than a fat, flaccid, weakling slob in a dress uniform. Or duty uniform for that matter.
Either way, a fat slob soldier or a fat slob law enforcement officer; their appearance diminishes their authority in the eyes of the public, and it also reflects negatively upon their unit/agency/department whatever the case.
The standards have fallen through the damn floor since 2008, and while every effort is being made to reconcile the problem, it is going to take quite a while to get rid of Ol’ Sparklefarts’ gay-affirmative action-lgtbwxyz-trans-whatever the hell service members, promoted to fill spaces made available after purging the Armed Forces of their best and brightest.
The situation with the Joint Chiefs right now is something I never thought even possible, much less an actuality. However, I do need to make one point very clear:
NO WAY – NO HOW – WILL THE RANK & FILE ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE, MARINES CORPS SUPPORT A COUP AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP……IT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN!!!
ANY commanding or senior officer that attempted such an action would be handled both appropriately and very quickly, with high velocity and low opinion.

If you have not seen Clint Lorance’s interview with Fox & Friends, it’s worth a view on Youtube. Lorance was one of the young men who were pardoned of war crimes by President Trump. He gave a very good explanation as to what happens to persons in the military once they are promoted to a political position. Below is the link. The significance of Senator Johnson writing his letter is that the Ukraine is HIS assignment. He isn’t just SOME senator. He is deeply informed on the Ukraine. Pondering why a career, field grade military officer would risk his career by by circumventing the COC’s instructions and why the DOD would take no action to rein him in, I have to wonder if Vindman might be a member of a “protected” group, or maybe two.
He has the look of many I have seen who are attracted to boys.
He does not have the look or the demeanor of the infantry officers that I have known and getting a purple heart only means you got wounded, you could be asleep in a drunken stupor when it happened.
Maybe his issue with the COC is because of gender preference issues and the DOD doesn’t want to open a can of worms with a discrimination fiasco (which would create another MSM topic). Wikipedia just says he’s married, doesn’t say to what gender.
Looking at his personal history, I have trouble believing that he got promoted to where he is based only on speaking a foreign language.

OK, so a kid from USSR ends up in America. He decides to get into the military for whatever reason – pay for college, see the world, etc.
Along the line, someone learns that he knows Russian and Ukraine languages, and is maybe familiar with his motherland. So, they bring him in from the rifle range and start getting him in some linguistic stuff, and then maybe some lower level intelligence stuff.
In the meantime, we have our mix of legislators, state dept, and military advisers working to do the funny money thing in Ukraine. Someone figures out whether this guy is willing to play along with the “noble,” or “moral” democrats or uniparty. Is he a fellow traveler. He says, “sure.”
And he starts riding up the ladder. Eventually, he is playing something of a pretty big role in all of this Ukraine stuff – including some of the funny money stuff.
Then, the need arises to Get Trump. Some inquiries are informally made, and this guy responds well, and so they have the guy to spill the beans to kick off Mission Whistleblower. Before it happens, he knows he may be in front of a congressional panel and or impeachment panel, and he understands this.
In short, the guy’s Ukraine background and political sentiments make him ideal to play along with the coup.

Yes. The NSC set it up. It’s possibly WHY Vindman did the summary of the call on 4/21/2019 and added in words that were not spoken to reinforce “the U.S. means business.” And if the July 25 transcript hadn’t been on another server he only had “read access” to, it’s possible he might have amended that transcript on his own. Nobody asked him what other transcripts he had summarized/changed, as far as I know.
I guess if you’re in “charge of Ukraine policy” as he stated in his opening statement, you have the final say over the President’s words.

They probably encouraged the call so they could manipulate his words after the fact to create quid-pro-quo. Vindman thought he would be able to change the transcript to reflect that PDJT made a demand of Zelensky, but he couldn’t access it electronically.

I agree. This transcript was planned to be set up to be a smoking gun. But Trump saw them coming long before they ever came up with that brainstorm.
I think Trump knew exactly what he was doing here, and the potential pitfalls, and that’s why that hard transcript is pristine. He knew he could say the word “Biden” because of those 2 videos of Biden admitting extorting Ukraine to back off prosecuting his son’s company. That completely inoculated Trump from the alleged smoking gun transcript, and allowed him to also say the word “Crowdstrike”, which struck as a thunderclap amongst Deep State. They knew what was coming.

His admitting that he told his attorney Eisenman (not sure if it was the lawyer sitting with him) about his phone call teliing the Ukraines not to meddle in US politics probably ticked the lawyer off; lawyer told blabbermouth Vindman not to talk to anyone else. Well, he screwed up, didn’t he? Not sure that Schiff is happy having to go to the mat to pretend Vindman is any kind of star witness who will take Trump down, and I don’t think Stephen Spielberg would find him a worthy subject for a major motion picture, unless he plays Flounder in Animal House 2.0.

As part of his job, Vindman had apparently submitted talking points to the President for his telcon with Zelensky. They included the bit about “rooting out corrupton”. The President left that bit out of his telcon. When Vindman did the summary (“readout”) for the media and others he put that line in – “rooting out corruption”. It was never in the actual transcript because the President chose not to say it.

I think the Trump administration was secretly saving their transcript in 2 places…the normal, and another more secure location. Vindman altered the transcript in the normal location, thinking it was the only original. Then he delivered his altered transcript to CIA spy ERIC CIARAMELLA who gave it to his handler Adam Schiff.
Adam Schiff then read the altered version in Congress…thinking that there were no other originals. If there were no originals, the White House would have had to recreate the transcript from memory and anyone who listened to the actual call could say it was an inaccurate recreation.
This explains why they were so pissed about the unexpected transcript location (why would they care?) and why Schiff read the ridiculous made up transcript in Congress.

He outed himself most when answering Dem Denny Heck. I’d love to see his phone/laptop communication fireworks within minutes of the July 25 call. He said within an hour (2 minutes maybe?) he had talked with Mr. Isenburg. Notes were taken, then within his “coordination roll” he set the airwaves on fire letting his agency network know his interpretation of the President’s call. It gets back to Isenburg that Vindman is broadcasting the call info. Now that’s a timeline of texts, emails and phone conversations I’d like to see.

Wouldn’t this charade come to screeching halt if Vindman was compelled to give testimony before a Senate Committee, like Judiciary headed by Graham, where he would have to take the 5th or answer questions about who he spoke to in an intelligence agency? And the Dems know this, yet they persist. Reasons ?
a) Some kind of short term gain (smear/impeachment vote) can be achieved by Dems before their witnesses get crushed in the Senate?;
b) VSGPT is giving them rope as they expose themselves and there will be some event/time he is awaiting before he pulls the trigger?;
Are the Dems being driven to this by fear of Barr/Durham?; Or by fear of some unseen extra-constitutional power structure of globalists/intelligence agencies?
Are them Dems fooling themselves that they can get away with this (since they have gotten away with so much in the past) ?

Pres. Trump was pointing out that he suspects Pelosi is using “if you vote for impeachment, I’ll let the House vote on the USMCA,” in order to get the Dimms in districts that voted for Pres. Trump and any other moderates, to vote for impeachment.
I think she’s definitely lost Van Deem who voted against the inquiry and has indicated there’s nothing to impeach the President for.
I think you keep on bringing up the Wash. Post article on day of his inauguration…”now impeachment starts,” attorney for the BlowWhistler, Mark Zaid, “now the coup starts” 10 days later, other snipets of the media and headlines and keep pounding that into ads, etc. That and Pelosi saying “the President must prove he’s innocent.” crap.

I listened to him on the car radio (XM). My original thought was that he was a cat in a warehouse of rocking chairs (at least that is how nervous he sounded). I don’t know if it was because he was testifying publicly and knew that the whole country was watching him lie or something else. Maybe he feared that Schiff might not cut off the questions in open forum like he does in the basement.
No matter, if he were giving a statement like this in a courtroom, most jurors listening would be skeptical because of his nervous voice.

Who’s his daddy?
Vindman testified that he served in the military (not US).
When asked by a Dem if his father was an engineer, Vindman gave an odd response that he returned to his previous profession. The questioning Congressman assumed that to be as an engineer.
Anyone know anything more about his late father?

Also interesting is that Vindman is a Ukrainian who hates Russians, with a passion. Excuse my French but the BS is so deep. For the record, there is a minority of people in Ukraine who hate Russians passionately. They tend to be fascist (history of siding with Hitler). As we hear all the dramatics, make notes. Zelensky ran on a platform that included making peace with Russia. He won by a 70% vote. That is not meant to support the lie that Ukraine is involved in a war with Russia. They in fact have had a civil war going on since their democratically elected President was overthrown in a coup, with much help from the US. Russia has provided help to the resistance in Eastern Ukraine, but Russia has rejected pleas to annex them or send in their troops. Take the hint from that. Russia is not seeking Ukrainian territory. Crimea is another issue with a long important history to Russia as well as Holy Sites important to the Russian Orthodox Church.. Suffice to say it has been under Russia control since Catherine the Great and they will fight a war with the US before they ever surrender it. Schitty just delivered a melodrama how Ukraine could have been invaded by Russia while Trump was withholding weapons, and would have been helpless. Don’t buy any of it. The US is not the only country in the world that sells munitions. Ukraine has warehouses full of military grade weapons from countries such as Israel seeking to make their bucks. Seriously listen to them. Ukraine has been fighting a war against Russia for 5 years now with no weapons? Yankees need to come home and would if Trump had the powers he should have as POTUS.

It appears that we have a history and geography conundrum underway on this thread this afternoon. Russia, specifically Moscow, was the political center of the U.S.S.R.: the United Soviet Socialist Republic, Karl Marx Commies. Many smaller countries were swallowed up by the Russian controlled USSR through the period of years – decades – in the aftermath of the Bolshevik Revolution, and the assassination of the Czar along with the rest of his Romanoff family in the early 20th century.
As WWII ended, the Allies ceded East Germany AND East Berlin (in WEST Germany) to the U.S.S.R. The USSR had forcibly sucked up a lot of surrounding nations into their Soviet system since the successful overthrow of the Czar. Wasn’t pretty. Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin, eventually Kruschev – the Gulag Archipelago, millions of citizens murdered by their own Soviet Communist government was the lay of the land.
This all finally came apart at the seams during the one term GHW Bush Administration, as a result of President Ronald Reagan having worn down the Soviets economically. Last week we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the tear down of the Berlin Wall.
Historically and contemporaneously, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, the former Checzkoslovakia (sp), and others, have never been or considered themselves to be “Russian”.
Several years ago I taught ESL (English as a 2nd language) to a group of older adult immigrants. The class had approximately 20 students, multiple origins, languages, and religions. Three students in my class were from the Ukraine and two were from Russia. The Ukrainian women HATED the Russian married couple – history has consequences. The Russians were polite but clearly did not hold the Ukrainians in high regard. All of this occurred on the heels of the Russian annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, during the Obama Administration. The Russian invasion of the Crimea reminded the Ukrainian women of a youth lived under the jackboot Soviets. Very, very bad blood between Ukrainians and Russians post “annexation”. Thank you, Obama, for promising real help but sending blankets instead of armaments to help the Ukrainians defend themselves and their Crimea. Good on ya, bro!
The family of the Vindman brother in uniform, the one desperately trying to avoid a Court Martial, is from Kiev, in the Ukraine. The family may or may not be Russian, because there is a large population of Russians living in the Ukraine, and particularly in the Crimea, but according to the posted link, the Vindman family hails from Kiev.

OK. I have Russian and Ukrainian antecedents. One grandparent was one of these, with some German mixed in, the other from a large city in Ukraine, some Jewish forebears, too. The Ukrainian did not suffer when living and working professionally in Russia, was a loyal subject of the Russian Tsar. Ukraine was referred to, at least in my family, as “Small Russia.” Ukrainians are a proud people, but anti-Semitism definitely drags them down in many ways. There were pogroms and many of the Jews who had lived there for centuries fled in the late 19th c., many coming to America. Things got worse for established society with WWI and the Russian Revolution underway just a century ago. The Holodomor was a hideous event, where Stalin’s henchmen, many of them Jews, cruelly allowed the death of millions of Christian Ukrainians, many of them skilled farmers for generations in that rich countryside. The wheat they grew was taken from them to feed the urban proletariat and for foreign exchange, to get the cash that the Soviet government desperately needed. Those Ukrainians who survived welcomed the German Army that invaded during WWII — that’s how much they hated the Soviet regime. In any case, during the late 1970s US Senator Scoop Jackson worked up a policy with the USSR that allowed people to leave the Soviet Union; most of these were Jews who (the worm had turned) now were out of power and dealing with anti-Semitism that had once more reared its ugly head. So the Vindman family (mother died in USSR is my understanding) got out while they could, before the regime closed the gate once again. Where I lived in the Middle West during that time we saw lots of Jewish refugee families and the local synagogues and social service organizations organized and assisted these people to settle in their new homes and country.
One thing to remember is that these folks were fleeing unbearable anti-Semitism, not Soviet Communism. So I would regard Vindman’s whining with a grain or two of salt.

The story is more complicated. To attempt to expand your awareness and put that history simply, Hitler did not hate Jews because they were Jewish. He hated them because they were communists. Jews had played a significant role in the Russian Revolution that bought on the USSR (the October Revolution) where Lenin took rule. They viciously attacked the religious which were Orthodox Christians (Russian or Greek), executing their religious leaders, destroying their churches, slaughtering them in mass. Not to mention the confiscation of all property and wealth. On Lenin’s death, a power play occurred between Trotsky and Stalin. Stalin won but he then conducted purges to get rid of all the Trotskyites. Many Christians retaliated against the Trotskyites who were largely Jewish. Many Jews fled here to the US, particularly New York. Meet their descendants in the far left of the democratic party.
The Holodomor is a politicized tragedy. Russia in the 1920’s and 1930’s had a series of droughts. Know what? We had them here in the US also – reference the Dust Bowl of Oklahoma. Call them Acts of God or Acts of Nature. The problem was the communist government had taken on the task of managing everything. They were what we are experiencing now – a state of bureaucrats, government employees, who were suppose to have all the answers and make utopia, a ruling elite who were to have all the answers to everything and make life ‘fair’ – who really knew nothing of what they were doing.

I don’t think they care about what the POTUS wants, the American people want, nor what the Ukrainians want. What the heck are we doing in the Ukraine on Russia’s border? Trying to ignite WWIII? Durn right Ukraine is important to our national INSECURITY. NATO is self preserving. Lockheed Martin sees future $s in more Trident missles. Monsanto sees control of the bread basket of Europe. Biden’s and I bet so many more see wealth and $s. But what do we, the American people, get? Greatest threat of nuclear war we have ever had.

That was my impression of everyone who has testified so far. They’re working more for Ukrainians than they are America. It’s Europe who needs to put up some money, not the U.S. taxpayer. There’s no reason to believe the money laundering of U.S. foreign aid coming back to the Congressional and DC elites ever stopped, especially since Soros is involved.

He got taken through a hole in the fence and had to jump down off the highway. Two of the staff/security had just reached out hands to help and he was already moving down. A little of jam up because they were there, but Trump was striding in to the building moments later.

I’m getting tired of the Republicans holding back. How is it possible that in hours of questioning under oath no one asked Vindman why as an officer in the U.S. Army he decided it was appropriate to leak the information in question to [the CIA]? Is it so hard to ask this question and keep asking it in every possible permutation each Rep can devise? Come on! This military to CIA to (with) State Dept to Demz in Congress coordination is the evil axis underlying this whole charade. I guess the Republicans are afraid to step over their little inside the beltway line.

The testimony is just crazy. He is a leaker. He did not follow chain of command on who to complain to. Then he refuses to name a person in the intelligence agency (Ciamerella). But then in the same breath denies knowing the whistleblower! What?! Then you have the wrong legal interpretation that somehow the whistleblower identity if protected and new made up rules created by Schiff. The whole thing is just jaw dropping and riddled with errors (which would normally be appealable, but not in this kangaroo court). In a crazy parallel, Schiff has become the American counterpart to the British Bercow! They must have links across the Atlantic because the maneuvers are all the same!

I thought what I heard was that Vindman admitted to being a source for the whistleblower who was part of the Intelligence Community. When Devin Nunes asked which of the 17 agencies he referenced, Chairman Schiff objected. In the process of the objection, Chairman Schiff confirmed it. My husband checked Twitter and told me it was lighting up with people who heard what I heard!
A hat tip to Chairman Schiff for telling us about the whistleblower. Oh wait, he doesn’t know who the whistleblower is. One thing for sure, we sure know which House committee chairman blows the most smoke!

Are we sure Ciaramella is the whistleblower? Because when describing the unnamed person Vindman reported the phone call to, he said it’s an individual “in the office of” before he switched to “in the intelligence community”. I’m thinking he went to the OIG for the CIA. The Office of Inspector General for the CIA. Who is that person right now?

Forget my last question. It would be someone in the CIA OIG, not necessarily the IG. Ciaramella’s not in the OIG area is he?

And by the way, Vindman claims he doesn’t know who the whistleblower is. Not that I think he’s truthful but let’s say he’s being truthful about this one point. Then that would mean Vindman passed the info to someone who passed it to the whistleblower.

From The Heavy:
According to the Washington Examiner, Ciaramella is currently detailed by the CIA to the National Intelligence Committee, where he works as a deputy national intelligence officer for Russia and Eurasia. He reports to Trump’s acting Director of National Intelligence, Joseph Maguire. He likely works closely with Alexander Vindman, the impeachment inquiry witness who is now Ukraine director for the NSC, Ciaramella’s former role.
Ciaramella reports to the DNI. So technically Ciaramella is someone in the Office of the DNI? But Vindman knows Ciaramella, right? But he claims he doesn’t know the whistleblower.
By the way, I haven’t forgotten Nunes’ questions to Williams and Vindman about accessing someone else’s computer without their permission or authorization. I don’t think he was implying Williams did it. Nunes knows what’s going on.
