Elijah Cummings is the one who was willing to work on lower drug prices—he met with President Trump over it. Rep Cummings introduced a Bill that Nancy Pelosi has been ignoring. 🧐🤔

good point..maybe that would be a segue for the President to say: In honor of Elijah Cummings, Nancy, maybe you and I could get together and start working on lowering drug prices as Elijah wanted to do…lets call it the Cummings’ Initiative…etc etc

She is a dedicated communist from my info – sorry no citations at present. That is the affliction that is ailing her. They never quit. Their goal is destruction of any freedom. They/she must be vanquished. Wish Californians could get free of the iron grip of these communists, but they have the ballot box completely under their control. We will need Washington’s help for law and order to be reestablished.

That’s gold! He really should. Make sure he tweets it far and wide and let Nancy publicly refuse to honor her dear friend Cummings. “I don’t know why Nervous Nancy refuses to honor her dear colleague’s wish to lower drug prices for all Americans. Americans need the Cummings Initiative.”

I had the same thought Sunny, maybe they’ll pass it in his honor like they did with healthcare after Ted Kennedy died. Since Cummings bill is already written and he was working with the WH on it, maybe they won’t change it and it won’t be a disaster like Obama care.

If it’s a good bill, what a nice legacy for Cummings. Can Nancy put aside her vendetta against POTUS long enough to pass it though.

I know and understand the dislike and distrust of William Barr. However, at Notre Dame last week he gave a speech on Religion and Morality and a defense of religious schools (and specifically of Catholic schools) which was very fine. Since it drove the Leftists nutzoid, you know he was on target! 😉

    The transcript:

    https://www.justice.gov/opa/speech/attorney-general-william-p-barr-delivers-remarks-law-school-and-de-nicola-center-ethics

    A salient excerpt:

…I see the secularists are attacking on three fronts.

The first front relates to the content of public school curriculum. Many states are adopting curriculum that is incompatible with traditional religious principles according to which parents are attempting to raise their children. They often do so without any opt out for religious families.

Thus, for example, New Jersey recently passed a law requiring public schools to adopt an LGBT curriculum that many feel is inconsistent with traditional Christian teaching. Similar laws have been passed in California and Illinois. And the Orange County Board of Education in California issued an opinion that “parents who disagree with the instructional materials related to gender, gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation may not excuse their children from this instruction.”

Indeed, in some cases, the schools may not even warn parents about lessons they plan to teach on controversial subjects relating to sexual behavior and relationships.

This puts parents who dissent from the secular orthodoxy to a difficult choice: Try to scrape together the money for private school or home schooling, or allow their children to be inculcated with messages that they fundamentally reject….

    • Ausonius- I cannot thank you enough for posting that magnificent speech. Unless you live in a dark Blue state like NY, you have no idea what kind of perversions exist in the school systems. Behavior that used to be considered beyond the pale is now being “taught” to kindergarten and elementary school children.

Parents have lost their rights. If they even criticize the curriculum on FB, they are hounded and threatened by the mob.

It’s OK to post the most radical anti-semitic or racist comments or to advocate violence against our President & the Deplorables, but God help you if you question for one second the agenda of the LBGGQRSTUV fanatics.

But the DUP has said no.
Sorry to have had to post the whole thing but the site I took it from should not be inflicted on my fellow Treepers.
On the plus side Junker stated today that he will not allow an extension to article 50. Which means that Britain will have to leave with no agreement. Which is probably best that could happen.

“Following confirmation from the Prime Minister that he believes he has secured a “great new deal” with the European Union the Democratic Unionist Party will be unable to support these proposals in Parliament.
The Democratic Unionist Party has worked since the referendum result to secure a negotiated deal as we leave the European Union. We have been consistent that we will only ever consider supporting arrangements that are in Northern Ireland’s long-term economic and constitutional interests and protect the integrity of the Union.
These proposals are not, in our view, beneficial to the economic well-being of Northern Ireland and they undermine the integrity of the Union. Our main route of trade on an East —West basis will be subject to rules of the European Union Customs Union, notwithstanding that Northern Ireland will remain part of the UK Customs territory.
All goods would be subject to a customs check regime regardless of their final destination. The default position, even for goods travelling from one part of our country to another, is that they are considered under the EU Customs code unless otherwise agreed.
We recognise that only those goods ultimately destined for the Republic of Ireland would be subject to tariffs but the reality remains that the EU would have a veto on which goods would be exempt and which would not under the Joint Committee arrangements. This is not acceptable within the internal borders of the United Kingdom.
Consumers in Northern Ireland would face the prospect of increased costs, and potentially less choice due to checks being implemented in order to facilitate the European Union. Throughout all the discussions on these issues we have been clear that Northern Ireland should not be subjected to administrative burdens which will be entrenched for the future.
On VAT Northern Ireland will again be bound into arrangements that the rest of the United Kingdom will not. There is a real danger that over time Northern Ireland will start to diverge across VAT and Customs and without broad support from the democratic representatives of the people of Northern Ireland.
While some progress has been made in recognising the issue of consent, the elected representatives of Northern Ireland will have no say on whether Northern Ireland should enter these arrangements.
The Government has departed from the principle that these arrangements must be subject to the consent of both unionists and nationalists in Northern Ireland. These arrangements would be subject to a rolling review but again the principles of the Belfast Agreement on consent have been abandoned in favour of majority rule on this single issue alone.
These arrangements will become the settled position in these areas for Northern Ireland. This drives a coach and horses through the professed sanctity of the Belfast Agreement.
For all of these reasons it is our view that these arrangements would not be in Northern Ireland’s long term interests. Saturday’s vote in Parliament on the proposals will only be the start of a long process to get any Withdrawal Agreement Bill through the House of Commons.”

There is vote for a second referendum so far.
As I undestand it Johnson has to reqest an extention if they have no deal. If the request is rejected then they are out on the 29th.
The DUP want the imossible as I understand it. Leave the EU with the UK but have a free market and open borders with Ireland.
Actually Ulster costs Britain more than the EU so Britain would be far beter off without either Ulster or the EU in my opinion.

Our Great President Trump is keenly aware of his surroundings. He understands perfectly who his enemies are and what their intentions are. All of the swamp fiefdoms are in fear of their own existence. Look for every organ of the swamp crime syndicate to activate as we move towards 2020. It’s like the fake impeachment process. right on call the pollsters go to work to enhance the snow-job. I find ironic that he may be on the precipice of helping to bust the largest crime syndicate in the world, the Beltway uni-party mob. Wasn’t it interesting how fast the DOJ arrested his colleagues?

    Treasury International Capital
    TIC long-term purchases report:
    U.S. Department of the Treasury

The difference in value between foreign long term securities purchased by U.S. citizens and U.S. securities purchased by foreigners.

Example if foreigners purchase $100B in U.S. stocks and bonds while U.S. citizens purchase $90B in foreign stocks and bonds the TIC would be +$10B. Plus equals capital coming into U.S. negative means capital going out. Also note that with a 20 trillion economy a billion moving out is of little consequence other countries can not say the same.

This information, September report is 45 days after month end,, which means July numbers. There are definitive weakness’s to this report, but it is one of the better ones available for tracking purposes. Again Long term not short term instruments which are mentioned later.

October Report: (August Numbers) Projected +$74.3B ,,,Actual +$-41.1B.
For the year Long Term TIC stands at + $226.7B

    Net Sales: – $41.9B
Foreign residents net purchases were +$0.4B (little guys)
Foreign official institutions net was -$42.3B

Largest moves: Inflows at net: By country.
Total includes Treasury, Agency, Corporate Bonds and Stocks
    U.K. +$ 33.7B
    Japan: +$ 6.4B
    South Korea: +$6.4B
    Singapore: +$5.6B
    Hong Kong: +$3.9B

    Outflows at net: By country.
Total includes Treasury, Agency, Corporate Bonds and Stocks.
    Ireland: -$30.8B
    Cayman Islands -$26.7B
    China: -$25.3B

    Short Term TIC:
Net foreign private: + $121.5B (little guys) 👌👌
Net foreign official institutions: – $51.0B
    Total Net : + $70.5B
    Combined TIC +$ 29.4

    Comments:
A good report as movement shifted from long to short investments.

During the Sky is falling month of August the small investors moved into short term treasuries in a very definitive way. The flight to safety for their part excluded long term treasuries and stocks. Many foreign governments and large institutions seemed to have needed and injection of capital. therefore the sale of U.S. holdings.

The Wall Street gang really shot themselves in the foot. Hey guys! lets scream a recession is here even though there isn’t so people won’t buy our products or services. You have to ponder their intellectual capabilities sometimes.

I’m wondering if Brexit is creating some financial scenario where by moving assets from U.K to U.S. them back to Ireland is in play. If there is a connection I don’t understand why so I’m at a loss other than normal ebb and flow. I look at the Cayman Islands as the swamp getting assets off shore, but I admit I can be cynical. Looks like China needed capital definitely keeping an eye on this.

FBI refuses to turn over records again!

by Joe Hoft October 17, 2019

So according to Deep State hack Isikoff –

1 The FBI had been contacted by the DOJ about Seth Rich
2 The FBI had been examining Seth Rich’s computer
3 The FBI was looking into Seth Rich’s gmail account
4 The FBI investigated an attempt to hack into Seth Rich’s computer
5 And, finally, confirmed liar Andrew McCabe from the FBI said there was nothing to the stories regarding Seth Rich!

udge Bloom scheduled a telephone hearing for 11:15 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2019, to discuss my motion and the FBI’s response. As you can see from that motion, I’ve asked for permission to take testimony from Ms. Sines, the chief of CART, and the head of the FBI’s FOIA response unit. Somebody’s got some ‘splaining to do.

For the love of the country that I’ve served for over three decades, start seeking peace now.

Rudy-G took on the Mob in New York City. He knows how to do the same in Washington. Plenty of DC mobsters in Congress had their way in Ukraine. But now, the Ukrainians are fighting back too.

  47. Morning Notes-Happy Day 1K.1!

Why is it that Republicans can throw their support behind a hastily thrown together resolution that bashed our Commander In Chief’s foreign policy without even a hint of discussion on the floor, yet we are still waiting, years, for immigration reform, healthcare, prescription drug pricing, and a full throated condemnation of not only Schiff, but the rest of the House Dems on this disgusting basement impeachment of our duly elected President?

That said, talk about a resolution? How about a unanimous resolution censuring the Speaker for her vile thinly veiled threats against our POTUS? Pointing fingers and shouting him down in front of his generals in a foreign policy meeting? Calling their impeachment process “deadly” serious? Threatening him with “he will see what we will do?” The sickening “praying for his and his family’s safety” comment??? Talk about sounding like a mob boss! This, with our President traveling to Dallas, TX. The site of the assassination of the last President who went up against the CIA?

    Had enough? I sure have.
