I rarely comment; however, I’d like to say something I haven’t seen anywhere. Why does anyone accept the $30 million cost quote for the SC investigation? There’s no way it cost that much. I’ve worked on much, much smaller government projects that quickly ran up much higher price tags. To misquote Fred Thompson:

Russians don’t take a dump, son, without a plan. And Congress doesn’t take one without running up a $10 million price tag.

Not if you’re white. I’ll say it. My husband went through the immigration system from being accused of overstaying a visa (he lost his corporate sponsorship after 911, and started his own business) and being banned for five years to eventually naturalizing. It was a lengthy and expensive process requiring exhaustive documentation, but he feels it was worth it in the end and is proud to be an American. He was born in Canada, and many Americans would love to live there. He is educated, healthy and productive, exactly the kind of immigrants we want, but our immigration seems created to deter this, instead attracting terrorists and third world garbage. I don’t think it’s an accident, either. There is an active effort underway to destroy this country, and the borders should be sealed until we can sort out who belongs here.

          • Kintbury says:

The truth is that our immigration system is nothing more than Democrat voter head hunters. Remember the German family who were given asylum because Germany would not allow them to home school. They were not likely Democrat voters and Obama sought to have them deported. Even for him that was a bridge too far and he stopped once it became widely known. If you are a white European, fat chance.

          • Invisigoth, I don’t know what you husband had to go through to be naturalized but one of my daughter’s in law immigrated here from France and became a citizen 10 years ago.

She and my son had to pay a lot in fees and fill out pages and pages of paperwork.

It angers our whole family that now these illegals saunter across the border and are given room, board and free medical care after what our family had to do to help my beautiful daughter in law qualify for citizenship.

We have no idea as to who these illegals are, many of them are possibly criminals of the worst kind. We just do not know.

As you say for my daughter in law to become a citizen it was expensive and the documentation was exhaustive and she did not run into any kind of trouble as did your husband.

            Good luck to your family.

    “… Anti-black prejudice … after 2016 … took a sharp dive that was statistically significant. …

“There was also a general fall in anti-Hispanic prejudice, too”

Hmmmm … there’s no mention in the derivative articles about trends in anti-white prejudice.

Just double check this stuff before posting. It’s not true. The truth is still pretty amazing but not quite as good as what made the rounds.

an Associated Press tally of the actual ratio pegged it at 2,626 to 487, not 3084 to 57 […] The flawed claim about Trump’s winning 3,084 out of 3,141 counties was fairly clearly based on a misunderstanding of a 15 November 2016 Breitbart article. That article did not hold that Donald Trump had won county-wide popular votes by a 3084 to 57 margin, but rather that if one excluded all the votes in 57 particular counties from the national total and only counted votes in the remaining 3084 counties, Donald Trump would have won the national popular vote by a 7.5 million votes

    • As every prosecutor knows, you’re making progress when the various people you’re investigating start pointing fingers at one another. The people who do this more or less self-identify themselves as being probably guilty. As it becomes more clear that criminal indictments are coming, in what is very likely to be “the biggest scandal in US history,” the rats are struggling to leave the ship.

But this thing is really being driven by the very institutions that these people willingly abused – Justice and Intelligence. Both of these want nothing to do with politics, but found themselves immersed in it and used by it. Now, it’s payback time. And they know exactly where the skeletons are buried.

Yes, I expect Obama, Biden, and Hillary to ultimately be indicted. James Comey is toast.

I believe that when criminal indictments start to be handed down and these become the new headlines, the “Angry Democrats” will be running scared. More scared than they already are. And notions of impeachment will evaporate.

We already know what “business and financial records” will “reveal.” Emoluments, or yet another link to “Russians™, of course,” or both. But, how many years can you continue to flog the same dead horse? DJT has done more for this country in two years than his predecessors did in sixty. People notice things like that.

I don’t disagree with you. It’s possible that Articles of Impeachment will never even get a vote on the House floor.

My point is that the Dems will hold impeachment HEARINGS to keep a narrative going, to grab headlines, and of course, to distract from their own crimes. That could take months. (Note: In 1974, the House Judiciary Committee held hearings for nearly six months before they drafted Articles against Nixon.)

The Dems will continue to do whatever it takes to weaken our President leading up to the next election, even if it puts the entire nation in peril.

As far as beating dead horses, the Dems have already proven that once they’ve beaten a horse to death, they simply go out and get another one and start all over.

    Observations from a smaller limb.

PDJT is fascinating to follow as he uses leverage to get what he is after. He wants Mexico to stop the caravans, seems they have or at least I’ve haven’t seen much in the news recently. Next step of course is for them to crack down on the drug & human smugglers on their side of the border while he builds the wall.

    Mexico: GDP :
    2019 Q1: -0.2%
    2018: 2.0 %
    2017: 2.1%
    2016: 2.9%

With the first quarter GDP coming in at -0.2% it gives them as YoY of +1.3%. Half way through the second quarter and things are getting worse. I have found that markets fall faster than they rise on a historical basis. The same seems to have held true on GDP numbers. Contractions or expansions tend to pick up momentum, with contractions doing so much quicker.

Mexico now faces a dilemma, which is more important their legal or illegal side of their economy. PDJT has plenty of options to turn the screws. So stop and think about this. 80% of their exports go to the U.S.; their largest market is growing at a 3% rate. However their exports are falling -1.2% YoY with some categories falling above double digits.

I would love to play poker with PDJT. I wasn’t allowed in his casino but that is pretty much the norm everywhere.

    Idaho is showing some leadership!

FTA: The glimmer came in Idaho and stunned governments around the world. Idaho’s state legislature just opted to repeal the entire state regulatory code. The greatest problem with regulation is that it remains there forever. There are so many laws that everyone breaks every day unknowingly because the books are cluttered with antiquated regulations. The new governor is now presented with an amazing opportunity to repeal an outdated and burdensome regulatory code and replace it with a more streamlined and sensible set of rules. Other states should be paying close attention. Even the flak Trump got over revising NAFTA was a classic example of outdated rules. NAFTA predated the explosion of the internet. With online commerce skyrocketing, it was omitted from NAFTA.

Great. I have thought for a while that all regulations need to sunset after a fixed period of time, and that all new regulations need to be passed by Congress and signed by the President.

The agencies can write them and submit it to committee for review. Probably would mostly be rubber stamped, but egregious problems would be removed. And any regs would actually be Congressionally passed law.

Biggest flaw is that this would require Congress to actually work. They will never agree.

I also think that all regulatory court functions should be transferred from the agencies to the courts.

But I am one of those anachronisms that actually believes in Constitutional separation of powers.

Why hasn’t Pelosi undone the organization changes that she used to structure the committees for impeachment?

I will not believe her claims until she does so.

She lied about not impeaching in the run up to 2018 in order to trick people into voting Democrat. Yet she moved forward with impeachment structuring anyways. (And even Mueller released his report on her impeachment timeline.)

And she has clearly been using the investigation structure she put into place to try to gin up impeachment approval.

Failure breeds desperation. And they have no intention of letting Trump have any political wins before the 2020 elections. So they won’t have any wins either. Impeachment is all they have left.

So, I will only believe they are done with impeachment when Pelosi restores the committees from impeachment investigations to regular business.

We are so lucky to have this brilliant AG.

Looks like time for the Supreme Court to step up and rule that nationwide injunctions are unconstitutional. He just made the perfect case.

A.G. WILLIAM BARR—speaking out against ’emergency injunctions’ from Men In Black (from the book of the same name by brilliant Mark Levin) non-elected despots/circuit judges with the power to stop an action from Congress or the Oval Office… As so well pointed out, this power was not granted by the Constitution, was not intended by the framers of the Constitution, short-circuits the checks-and-balances of government, and seriously erodes the confidence of American citizens in our judicial system.. BRAVO, BARR–WELL DONE!

  29. A little off this topic, I have noticed the increasingly negative headlines on Drudge. And when you click on the link, it’s a story from Washington Post or MSNBC and the usual anti Trumpers. I now realize that Drudge is willing to peddle the usual Fake News like the rest. Under new management, I guess.

I stopped reading Drudge for news probably a year ago but I still continue to look to see how bad it’s getting there. And it’s really bad now. Pro-Dem anti-Trump and anti-GOP. Lots of inflammatory stuff trying to alarm people. I should look back at the headlines prior to the end of the Mueller witch hunt, I’ll bet most of them implied that Trump was going to be indicted. 🙂

Drudge and Bill Kristol should hang out and commiserate with each other. They are irrelevant now in this new political era. Either get on board the Trump train or stand in the weeds by the side of the track and get windblown as the train rushes past. 🙂

Just un-bookmark Drudge from your browser. Matt has always been anti-Trump but has really doubled down since the Mueller report came out. He will do what he can in his small way to prevent the President’s re-election.

Drudge had a headline saying Ivanka and Pelosi was having dinner together, turns out the two were just invited to a Charity dinner. Drudge is just click bait to spread fake news.

Answer… He’s not. It’s more bullshit. Sounds more like they needed their talking points on “Spygate.”

    • PP is very similar to the unions as far as dem campaign contributions are concerned. It’s govt money funneled to dem candidates only. It’s the primary reason that dems fight so hard to maintain PP funding. They could care less about “women’s health”. It’s the campaign $$ that is important to them.

    Overnight radio news reports (750WSB, 700WLW, 710WOR, 880WCBS, 840WHAS among others):
EVERY ONE of the above reported that Nancy Pelosi will hold the 9AM meeting today with House Democrats to talk about starting impeachment proceedings on POTUS on the grounds of OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE—but not entirely based on the lies in the Mueller report.
The House Democrats are apparently going to add Obstruction charges against POTUS because he is exercising his rights under the Executive to block people like Mr. McGahn from testifying before the House committees. The House Democrats believe that this rises to the level of “high crimes and misdemeanors”.

I still say Nancy is not on board with impeachment because it’s going to end up another Dem failure. The Senate will never convict Trump, he will remain President. The Dem base is getting tired of all of the failures. They were promised Trump could never win the GOP nomination, they were promised Trump could never win the general election, they were promised Trump would be indicted by Mueller. Fail. Fail. Fail. They cannot have another failure. Even their own base is getting sick of this sh*t and an increasing number want them to just move on. I’m sure they have lost many, I walked away in 2008 and I can tell you with 100% certainty that if I had remained with the party through the 2016 election this nonsense would have been more than I could tolerate, it’s so egregious now.

But that’s OK. If the Dems do proceed with impeachment it will actually help Trump, not hurt him. So let them make another mistake. 🙂 Heading into the 2020 elections even. Bad timing for them.

I want to add that none of the major press with internet presence are reporting any specifics of the meeting except that Pelosi doesn’t want to go through impeachment. No word about obstruction or that she’s considering changing her mind. I doubt that those radio stations got any specific info and none of the other media did.

TYPHUS is carried by rats. The disease is carried in their feces and on their fur. It can be spread to humans. TYPHUS can also occur in BODY LOUSE carried by humans and be spread by contact. There is NO vaccine for Typhus, Treatment is via antibiotics.
TYPHOID FEVER is different and is caused by a type of Salmonella bacteria infection in HUMAN FECES. This disease is spread by contact and among humans. ***It can ALSO be spread through contaminated water and food.***There IS a vaccine for Typhoid Fever that is effective at 40%-90% level. However, it can be difficult to get an accurate positive test result for Typhoid Fever.
BOTH of these diseases are now potentially present in Los Angeles (the city described in the linked article) because of unsanitary conditions, rats in the garbage piles (Typhus), and homeless people using the streets as toilets (Typhoid Fever).
The Mayor of Los Angeles, as is the Mayor of San Francisco, are both Democrats. The city councils of both places are controlled by Democrats.
