Trail of James Comey’s Dirt on Loretta Lynch Discovered Within IG Report on Andrew McCabe…

A very interesting development is unfolding as a result of internet researcher TracyBeanz [Twitter HERE – YouTube HERE] and some insightful dot connecting by those following.

The outline begins via a relatively under-reported accusation about former Attorney General Loretta Lynch by former FBI Director James Comey in his upcoming book.

According to ABC News Comey writes in “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership,” that he became the public face of the investigation partly because of a mysterious development which he felt could cast “serious doubt” on Lynch’s independence.

“Had it become public, the unverified material would undoubtedly have been used by political opponents to cast serious doubt on the attorney general’s independence in connection with the Clinton investigation,” Comey writes, according to ABC. He calls the material a “development still unknown to the American public to this day.” (ABC Link)

It seems rather odd for James Comey to be making such an accusation against Loretta Lynch in the book.  Why add that aspect? ..and why do so without expanding the details?

Well, keep in mind, that at the time the book was written, Mr. Comey had no idea exactly where the ongoing Inspector General investigation might lead; nor did he know the timing of release. Hence, the notation without expanded citation is likely explained.

However, with part of the OIG report released, within the Andrew McCabe background there’s a trail of evidence to the AG involvement James Comey was alluding toward.

On page six of the IG report (point number 4) we find a conference call between Loretta Lynch, Andrew McCabe and the FBI field office in New York where the subject of the Weiner/Abedin/Clinton laptop findings overlap with: the Clinton Foundation (CF) investigation; the Clinton Email investigation; pressure for Asst. Director McCabe to recuse himself, and Washington DC via Loretta Lynch using DOJ Main Justice leverage from the Eric Garner case against the NY FBI office and New York Police Department.

From the OIG report:

4. The Attorney General Expresses Strong Concerns to McCabe and other FBI Officials about Leaks, and McCabe Discusses Recusing Himself from CF Investigation (October 26)

McCabe told the OIG that during the October 2016 time frame, it was his “perception that there was a lot of information coming out of likely the [FBI’s] New York Field Office” that was ending up in the news. McCabe told the OIG that he “had some heated back-and-forths” with the New York Assistant Director in Charge (“NY-ADIC”) over the issue of media leaks.

On October 26, 2016, McCabe and NY-ADIC participated in what McCabe described as “a hastily convened conference call with the Attorney General who delivered the same message to us” about leaks, with specific focus being on leaks regarding the high-profile investigation by FBI’s New York Field Office into the death of Eric Garner. McCabe told us that he “never heard her use more forceful language.” NY-ADIC confirmed that the participants got “ripped by the AG on leaks.”

According to NY-ADIC’s testimony and an e-mail he sent to himself on October 31, McCabe indicated to NY-ADIC and a then-FBI Executive Assistant Director (“EAD”) in a conversation after Attorney General Lynch disconnected from the call that McCabe was recusing himself from the CF Investigation.

(Page #6 and #7 – IG Report Link)

What makes this explosive is the timing and how reporting in 2016 was explaining this specific call and the outcome therein.

On September 28th, 2016, Andrew McCabe was made aware of information the New York Police Department and FBI has obtained from a captured laptop belonging to Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner.  The laptop was evidence in the Weiner “sexting” case involving a minor; however, the laptop also contained thousands of State Department documents from Hillary Clinton and her aide Huma Abedin, Weiner’s wife.

Some of the extracted laptop evidence was turned over to the DOJ Southern District of New York (SDNY) where Preet Bharara, a Clinton-Lynch ally, is United States Attorney.

Text messages between FBI Agent Peter Strzok (Inbox) and FBI Special Counsel to Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page (Outbox):

[The letter to “Congress” at the end of the text exchange relates to notification of the re-opening of the Clinton investigation – Actual date of notification 10/28/16]

According to later reporting, FBI Director James Comey was not notified of the laptop issues for two to three weeks, after 9/28/16.   However, in late October and early November, there were reports from people with contacts in New York police and FBI, about Washington DOJ officials interfering with the Weiner laptop investigation.

On the same date (October 26th, 2016) as the Lynch, McCabe and NY FBI phone call, former NY Mayor Rudy Giuilani was telling Fox News that an explosive development was forthcoming.   Two days later, October 28th, 2016, Congress was notified of the additional Clinton emails.

However, a few more days later, November 4th, 2016, an even more explosive development as Erik Prince appeared on radio and outlined discoveries within the Huma Abedin/Anthony Weiner laptop that was being blocked by AG Lynch.

Prince claimed he had insider knowledge of the investigation that could help explain why FBI Director James Comey had to announce he was reopening the investigation into Clinton’s email server last week.

“Because of Weinergate and the sexting scandal, the NYPD started investigating it. Through a subpoena, through a warrant, they searched his laptop, and sure enough, found those 650,000 emails. They found way more stuff than just more information pertaining to the inappropriate sexting the guy was doing,” Prince claimed.

“They found State Department emails. They found a lot of other really damning criminal information, including money laundering, including the fact that Hillary went to this sex island with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Bill Clinton went there more than 20 times. Hillary Clinton went there at least six times,” he said.

“The amount of garbage that they found in these emails, of criminal activity by Hillary, by her immediate circle, and even by other Democratic members of Congress was so disgusting they gave it to the FBI, and they said, ‘We’re going to go public with this if you don’t reopen the investigation and you don’t do the right thing with timely indictments,’” Prince explained.

“I believe – I know, and this is from a very well-placed source of mine at 1PP, One Police Plaza in New York – the NYPD wanted to do a press conference announcing the warrants and the additional arrests they were making in this investigation, and they’ve gotten huge pushback, to the point of coercion, from the Justice Department, with the Justice Department threatening to charge someone that had been unrelated in the accidental heart attack death of Eric Garner almost two years ago. That’s the level of pushback the Obama Justice Department is doing against actually seeking justice in the email and other related criminal matters,” Prince said. (Link)

An earlier Grand Jury in New York had refused to return an indictment against the police in the Garner case.  As an outcome of that grand jury finding, and as an outcome of their own investigation, the local FBI office and Eastern District of New York DOJ office was not trying to pursue criminal charges against the NYPD officers involved.  This created a dispute because federal prosecutors and FBI officials in New York opposed bringing charges, while prosecutors with the Civil Rights Division at the Justice Department in Washington argued there was clear evidence to do so.

On October 25th, 2016, Loretta Lynch replaced the New York prosecutors:

New York Times (Oct. 25)  – The Justice Department has replaced the New York team of agents and lawyers investigating the death of Eric Garner, officials said, a highly unusual shake-up that could jump-start the long-stalled case and put the government back on track to seek criminal charges.

With that move on Oct. 25th, 2016, AG Lynch was now in position to threaten criminal prosecutions against the NYPD, and repercussions against the NY FBI and EDNY using the Garner case as leverage, just like Erik Prince outlined in the phone interview above.

Additionally, we see confirmation from the IG report, the Garner case was brought up in the next day (Oct 26, 2016) phone call to the NY FBI field office; just as Erik Prince outlined.  Obviously Prince’s sources were close to the events as they unfolded.

The NY FBI and Eastern District of New York (EDNY) were threatened by Washington DC Main Justice and FBI, via Loretta Lynch and Andrew McCabe to drop the Clinton/Abedin/Weiner laptop investigation matters, or else the Garner DOJ Civil Rights Division would be used as leverage against the NYPD.  And Loretta Lynch had SDNY U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara as the enforcer waiting for her call.

And so it was…

“Had it become public, the unverified material would undoubtedly have been used by political opponents to cast serious doubt on the attorney general’s independence in connection with the Clinton investigation,” Comey writes, according to ABC. He calls the material a “development still unknown to the American public to this day.” (ABC Link)

.

Additionally, this excerpt from the Comey book is laughable:

“I never heard anyone on our team — not one — take a position that seemed driven by their personal political motivations. And more than that: I never heard an argument or observation I thought came from a political bias. Never,” Comey writes in his book. “Instead we debated, argued, listened, reflected, agonized, played devil’s advocate, and even found opportunities to laugh as we hashed out major decisions.” (LINK)

Lastly, I cannot help but be reminded of a post-election event where an FBI official from the same NY field office had her vehicle broken into and a laptop stolen which included “National Security information“.  Everything was recovered, except the laptop.

In reality, we are dealing with a bunch of rabid dogs whose danger cannot and should never be underestimated.

Comey, Clinton and the entire Freak Show have already shown that there is NOTHING they won’t do to try and stop our duly elected President. It’s really about time that our people took off the gloves and started treating our SWORN ENEMIES the way that they deserve to be treated: WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE.

This is what the pedophilia claims emanate from, as I understand it, pedophilia on Jeffrey Epstein’s Island. If this is TRUE, and so many WELL KNOWN people involved, why it is being kept from the American people.

      • It has been publicized before multiple times. As for Donald Trump, the following story has been out for awhile now – supposedly James Patterson wrote about it in one of his books.

“There’s a story in Patterson’s new book Filthy Rich about Palm Beach perv Jeffrey Epstein relating an incident that allegedly took place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago in 1999.

According to the book, billionaire financier Epstein liked to hang out at Mar-a-Lago despite the fact he’d never coughed up the $100,000 to join, much less the $14,000-annual fee.

But because Epstein and Trump shared a mutual friend, Brit heiress Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein had “unlimited use of the facilities,” according to the book.”

“According to a story in Chapter 33:

“That arrangement ended when a (Mar-a-Lago) member’s young daughter complained to her wealthy father: while relaxing at Mar-a-Lago, she’d been approached and invited out to Epstein’s house.

“The girl said that she had gone and that Epstein had tried to get her to undress.

“The girl’s father had gone directly to Trump, who — in no uncertain terms — told Epstein that he was barred from Mar-a-Lago.”

“Another of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Roberts, said she was recruited in just the same way. She, however, wasn’t relaxing at Mar-a-Lago. She worked there.

Trump’s swift actions may have prevented other young ladies from falling into registered sex-offender Epstein’s web of underage girls.”

For those many of us who wondered whatever happened to the Wiener laptop investigation, and maybe assumed that the “authorities” were carefully developing their case, it now appears that the case was put on ice inside a freezer in a subterranean vault.

So the cancer expands. The NYPD and New York divisions of FBI and DOJ AGREED to conspire to obstruct justice. It does not matter that they were threatened. They are law enforcement officers/agencies. If the head of the FBI, DOJ, and executive branch (BHO) are corrupt then there is no one to go to. EXCEPT, YOUR REAL BOSSES, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. Why, oh WHY did they not go public. Announce the findings on the laptop and why they are so damaging. Announce the THREATS by the leadership. If the American people knew that the NYPD was being threatened over the Eric Garner case, then any subsequent attempt to file such charges would have been, well “ineffective” to say the least.

But NO, salaries, promotions, and pensions were at stake. But wait, is Sundance about to tell us all to chill out and that Jeff Sessions has everything well in hand?

Afterall, Trey Gowdy is ON RECORD as saying Comey did the only thing he could to NOT indict Hillary “Because of access he had to classified information, that I now have also, THAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE MAY NEVER KNOW.” (To Martha MacCallum 5/16/2017, on YouTube, look it up). AND add to that Gingrich to Hannity few months later that a group of Republicans told him they were “Scared of the Clintons and their continued ties and power in DC.” There is something HUGE going on here. I did NOT believe honestly, David Seaman of fulcrumnews.com that there are many sealed indictments ready to come out (I think after IG report), until I read this HUGE news story. Comey was soooo biased against Trump. He and his wife so stupid to think this is okay to come out and say all this publicly with an investigation going on that Comey caused. Comey’s book just keeps getting better.

“Contributing to this problem, regrettably, was President Obama. He had jeopardized the Department of Justice’s credibility in the investigation by saying in a ’60 Minutes’ interview on Oct. 11, 2015 that Clinton’s email use was a ‘mistake’ that had not endangered national security,” Comey wrote, adding that he also said Clinton did “not do anything to intentionally harm national security” during the interview on Fox News in April 2016.

“To this day, I don’t know why he spoke about the case publicly and seemed to absolve her before a final determination was made,” Comey wrote. “If the president had already decided the matter, an outside observer could reasonably wonder, how on earth could his Department of Justice do anything other than follow his lead.”

Riddle me this. If the pieces are in place, why is there no movement?

SD’s timeline, corroborating statements from Comey, and newly minted information from the first phase of OIG report are very compelling. One surmises that it would not be all that difficult for an untainted Attorney General to follow that string and use a DOJ prosecutor to subpoena key NYPD and “replaced” NY FBI agents and office directors to testify, with immunity if necessary.

If only two of these witnesses substantiate the fact that Loretta Lynch indeed used her office to obstruct by exercising threats against the NYPD to strong-arm their investigation of Weiner’s laptop, thwart their indictments, and provide cover for Hillary, then there appears to be a clear conspiracy to obstruct as defined by law. An easy layup.

If, as I suspect, our current AG is not untainted, or is permanently crippled by bureaucratic protectionism and his primary instinct to safeguard the “reputation of the department,” then there will be no movement toward prosecuting Loretta Lynch. She is just too big of a fish. If she faces prosecution, then the floodgates would be irreversibly opened. Also bear in mind that Sessions did not just learn of all this a couple of days ago when the IG report (phase one) was released.

I’m becoming more convinced that Mr. Sessions just doesn’t have the stomach for what needs doing. We’re way past the point of needing more prosecutors, …what we need now is more prosecutions.

    • Osprey- I think that Jeff Sessions was simply the wrong guy for the job and that maybe he was appointed because of his loyalty to PDJT. I don’t think he is evil so much as he is just old. His testosterone levels are not what they once were and that’s a biological fact.

We would have been better served by someone younger, with fire in the belly and elsewhere, who would have gone after these bad guys with a lust for blood that only a younger man can have.

I would have rather seen Ted Cruz as AG and have Sessions kept on as a senior adviser who could share his wisdom and experience with the Administration.

This isn’t a party … his testosterone levels are not the issue. What is needed is a slow, steady, METHODICAL hand that will result in key convictions of very well lawyered people who also have violent people on their payroll.

Do you want Hillary convicted … only to lose 100 others? Then the brashness of high T levels is not called for, rather the cold calculations of a hunter of “The Most Dangerous Prey”.

There are a lot of dead people in the Clinton wake and there are a lot of sexual deviants in government. When the trap springs, it’s important to get them all.

While you may or may not be correct in your assessment of Sessions as AG, I offer a thought: “Testosterone” is only one aspect of the pursuit of justice. Wisdom is the other aspect, and is a far more necessary component than raw ferocity. So perhaps you have your last comment backward. Wisdom needs to be in charge, with youthful vigor and fire at the ready to carry out the directives derived from experience. It is the controlling and focusing of that youthful “fire in the belly” that gets things done right the first time. For this reason, I’m withholding judgment on Sessions for yet a few more months. After all, they do call him “stealth Jeff” and “the silent executioner.” Of course, if in that amount of time I have not seen satisfactory results in terms of prosecutions, then I, too, will begin to suspect him, not of being too old, but of being too cowardly and compromised. But that still won’t change the fact that testosterone must be tempered by the wisdom of age to create that special combination that truly makes America great (again).

          2) A couple of months before the midterm elections (later and it will be dismissed as political; after the midterms and it will be too late for the second half of Trump’s term to have legislative successes, because the Republicans are going to get shellacked if there are no indictments to wake people up.)

“The amount of garbage that they found in these emails, of criminal activity by Hillary, by her immediate circle, and even by other Democratic members of Congress was so disgusting they gave it to the FBI, and they said, ‘We’re going to go public with this if you don’t reopen the investigation and you don’t do the right thing with timely indictments,’”

So we now know what forced the infamous reopening announcement by Comey.

HOWEVER, so much for timely indictments.

Little did the NYPD know they were turning over the laptop to the very people trying to shut down any and all investigations of Clinton’s.

Interesting side note, here, in a weekend quote from Lynch:

“Over almost two decades as a federal prosecutor I have aggressively prosecuted drug dealers, violent gangs, mobsters, and money launderers, upheld the civil rights of all Americans, and fought corruption of all types –– whether by elected officials from both sides of the aisle or within organizations like FIFA. Through it all I have never hesitated to make the hard decisions, guided by the Department of Justice’s core principles or integrity, independence and above all, always doing the right thing,” she said.

Note that she mentioned the FIFA investigation…where the FBI and DOJ originally worked with Steele, no?

Comey reopened the Clinton emails investigation in late October 2016 because he feared that the NYPD would leak some of the explosive Weiner laptop emails to the press, and he did not want to be left out on a limb if all hell broke loose. Once DOJ/Lynch put the fix in on the NYPD (plus other shenanigans), and it became clear that the potential leak was averted, Comey felt safe re-closing the investigation. This was pure CYA, and he has been dancing ever since. He and Lynch do not like each other at all, but they are joined at the hip in all the corruption, and the backstabbing has only just begun.

Deep State wrongly thinks it is a white hat…ALWAYS. Both LL and JC were going to hold Epstein horror island over the HRC administration the entire time to control her corruption or benefit the BO legacy. Slightly different reasons. LL to push BO agenda – change our nation’s democracy. JC ‘preserve’ our democracy. FIB leadership thinks this is followed by ‘as they see fit’. You’re just federal cops lads and laddies.

(Can just picture the day in the oval office LL says ‘Been to any Islands lately’ and later in the day JC ‘How’s the water at the beach’ as constant reminders about her being at their whim.)

I am confused, please help clarify.
NY FBI, and EDNY did not want to press federal civil rights charges against the NYPD after the state grand jury failed to prosecute. In Oct 2016 DOJ via Lynch then removes the federal team of “agents and lawyers” with those from outside of NY.

    My questions:

    1. At this point was the case still under the EDNY jurisdiction?
    2. Agents replaced are DOJ EDNY investigators or were the FBI agents in NY replaced at this time too? I am not clear on this.
    3. At what point is the case transferred to SDNY (Southern Dist NY) as that’s where Preet Bharara is located and would have jurisdiction to prosecute?

I am trying to understand how Preet would be the leverage against NYPD if the case was being handled by EDNY. I saw his tweet this weekend claiming he did not have jurisdiction, so there is something I am missing which was not clear in this post or @tracybeanz thread,

Good question but does it matter? Investigators with their hot little hands on bomb shell dirt from Weiner about Epstein Island and the Crookins are being threatened with personal litigation if they go forward with it. That’s just wrong. And if you doubt that truth…LL’s statement that JC did nothing with what he knew confirms that this was going on. They both stepped in it.

Still not sure if JC was laying a little trap for her since as astutely mentioned about…no love lost there.

CopperTop, I agree with you that Lynch’s statement seems to corroborate. I’d still like to know though because I already see the leftists trying to spin this by saying Preet did not have jurisdiction. I personally want to have an answer to that charge since I have many liberal friends who like to trot out their latest spin and I get great pleasure slapping down their arguments.

Bigley… Million ways to redirect that commentary but you could say to them that Preet claims it was not his jurisdiction. So you have to look at ways an AG could make it his jurisdiction over the civil liberties case that LL threatened.

“Multidistrict litigation is litigation comprised of multiple civil cases involving one or more common questions of fact, but the cases are pending in different districts. Such actions may be transferred to any single district for coordinated or consolidated pretrial proceedings. These transfers are made by the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation authorized by 28 U.S.C. 1407. Actions will be transferred for the convenience of the parties and witnesses and to promote the just and efficient conduct of such actions. More information on multidistrict litigation can be obtained from the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation at http://www.jpml.uscourts.gov.”

googling the names on the panel http://www.jpml.uscourts.gov at the masthead gets VERY interesting.

Bigley…additionally if you note the original grand jury for the Garner case…there is a tie bit of a civil rights atty from another fed jurisdiction appearing NYT 2/11/16

“Federal prosecutors began presenting evidence on Wednesday to a grand jury in Brooklyn in the death of Eric Garner, an unarmed black man who died after being placed in a chokehold by a white police officer in Staten Island in July 2014, according to a person briefed on the matter.

Two New York City police officers were the first people to be called before the federal panel, the person said, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss a continuing investigation. The person added that Forrest Christian, a veteran prosecutor in the Justice Department’s civil rights division, had come to Brooklyn to take part in the proceeding.”

I think the point is, as Sundance said in his tweet, that Lynch was THREATENING to turn the case over to Preet. So if that never happened, then he’s probably telling the truth when he says “I never had this case.” No, because Lynch never had to follow through on her threat.

    Late again, as usual.

Re: Saint Comey’s “mysterious development,” perhaps some confirmation, that also ties Comey’s “mysterious development” to the Weiner laptop and the Eric Gardner case. These are all from the Comey Senate Judiciary Cmte testimony 5 May 2017, link referenced above in previous comment.

Sen Grassley, 00:44:39 “The New York Times recently reported that the FBI had found a troubling email among the ones the Russians hacked from Democrat operatives. The email reportedly provided assurances that Attorney General Lynch would protect Secretary Clinton by making sure the FBI investigation, quote unquote, didn’t go too far. How, and when, did you first learn of this document, also who sent it, and who received it.”

Comey, 00:45:13 “That’s not a question I can answer in this forum, Mr. Chairman, cuz it would call for a classified response, I have briefed leadership of the Intelligence Committees on that particular issue, but I can’t talk about it here.”

Sen Grassley 00:45:30 “What steps did the FBI take to determine whether Attorney General Lynch had actually given assurances that the political fix was in no matter what. Did the FBI interview the person who wrote the email, if not why not.”

Comey 00:45:46 ” I hafta to give you the same answer I can’t talk about that in an unclassified setting.”

Sen Grassley 00:45:54 “I asked the FBI to provide this email to the Committee before today’s hearing. Why haven’t you done so, and will you provide it by the end of this week.”

Comey 00:46:06 “Again, to react to that I hafta give a classified answer and I can’t give it sitting here.”

Sen Grassley 00:46:13 “So that means you can’t give me the email?”

Comey 00:46:16 “I’m not confirming there was an email sir. I can’t, the subject is classified. In an appropriate forum I’d be happy to brief you on it, but I can’t do it in an open hearing.”

Sen John Cornyn confirms that the New York Times story is recent –
Sen Cornyn 01:16:21 “According to a recent piece in the New York Times…”

Speaking specifically about AG Loretta Lynch –
Sen Cornyn 01:16:55 “If the New York Times story is true, a Democratic operative expressed confidence that the former Attorney General would keep that investigation from going very far.”

The recent New York Times article had identified the Democrat operative email as being from Russian hackers. That makes no sense. The only Democrat operative (singular operative) hacked emails were from John Podesta, released to the public nearly a year prior by Wikileaks, and an email like that would have been found by this time.

Occams and Hanlons Razors says this email is from the Weiner laptop, and is probably to or from Huma Abedin. The NYT story is a head fake with the “Russian hacker” reference. imo

Do the Intel and Judiciary Cmtes have the answers to these questions? Would love to know Comey’s answers in that classified hearing. What did Comey tell Intel Cmtes?

One small correction – “James Comey was not notified of the laptop issues for two to three weeks…”
Comey testified to Sen Dianne Feistein that he, Comey, was not notified of the Weiner laptop until 27 Oct 2016. This was the day after the Lynch conference call which referred to the Eric Gardner case with the implied threat (OIG report, Item 4, Pgs 6-7). Comey was not in on that call.

00:49:53 “October 27th, the investigative team that had finished the investigation in July, focused on Secreatary Clinton’s emails, asked to meet with me. So I met with them that morning, late morning, in my conference room, and they laid out for me what they could see from the metadata on this fella Anthony Weiner’s laptop that had been seized in an unrelated case…”

Does it not seem that Comey was playing both sides until he was fired? Comey is obviously the one who started the investigation and then outed McCabe. Who else has Comey double-crossed?

WHAT COMEY TOLD STEPHANOPOULOS RE GEN FLYNN: :NOTICE THE CONTRADICTION

In his ABC interview, fired FBI Director James Comey was asked about reports that he told Congress, in March 2017, that the FBI agents who interviewed Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn did not think Flynn had lied to them — even though Flynn, several months later, pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI.

Did Comey tell lawmakers that? Here is the exchange between Comey and ABC’s George Stephanopoulos:
STEPHANOPOULOS: There’s been some reporting that — at —at — at one point you told the Congress that the agents who interviewed Mike Flynn didn’t believe that he had lied.
COMEY: Yeah, I saw that. And that — I don’t know where that’s coming from. That — unless I’m — I — I — said something that people misunderstood, I don’t remember even intending to say that. So my recollection is I never said that to anybody.

Comey’s statement directly contradicts this report, by me, from Feb. 12:
According to two sources familiar with the meetings, Comey told lawmakers that the FBI agents who interviewed Flynn did not believe that Flynn had lied to them, or that any inaccuracies in his answers were intentional. As a result, some of those in attendance came away with the impression that Flynn would not be charged with a crime pertaining to the Jan. 24 interview.

So who is right? There are a few things to note. One, in findings from the Russia investigation released in advance of its still-unreleased final report, Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee included this:
Finding #22: General Flynn pleaded guilty to making a false statement to the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding his December 2016 conversations with Ambassador Kislyak, even though the Federal Bureau of Investigation agents did not detect any deception during Flynn’s interview.

That seems to indicate a substantial misunderstanding, or just a straight-out conflict, between what the House concluded about the FBI agents who interviewed Flynn and what Comey says he told lawmakers.
