Newt Gingrich: Turning The “Trump Rally” Movement Into The “Trump Reality” Presidency…

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich delivers an exceptional presentation to the Heritage Foundation discussing “Trumpism”.

In typical Gingrich form he rips his way through the history of Donald Trump’s campaign for president while contrasting the various disconnects along the way.  Very well worth the time to watch.

This was great. Never thought I would watch 50 minutes of Newt but he was very entertaining. I loved the part where he explained that Trump is the reverse John Galt. Instead of retreating to a cave, he grabbed the banner and led the people to victory to knock over the tables.

      Highly recommend watching.

      Agreed, 100% excellent.
A most fabulous speech by the good professor Gingrich.
He will be somehow involved in draining the swamp at Foggy Bottom,

Just watched the Gingrich video at Heritage. A must-see for everyone. Whatever one thinks about Gingrich, he is a true historian and certainly gets his facts straight. It’s an hour long, but worth every minute. I could listen to this very intelligent man for hours and not get bored. Highly recommend it. He lets it be known there is nothing to worry about how Trump will manage his cabinet and the country. We are in for some amazing times.

there is no requirement that Justices be JDs… would probably be better if they weren’t since lawyers are always trying to “interpret” the US Constitution……I personally would like to see them banned from holding legislative office simce it is a direct conflict of interest……think fox guarding the henhouse

FYI : One is not required to be an attorney to be a SC Justice. I do agree about SoS, though. He probably had to many business entanglements for a smooth confirmation. And it’s not like he hasn’t made enemies in Congress, either.

Just having a bit of fun. Yes, he would have been at the top of my list for Secretary of State as well.

Although I have to say, compared to half the bench on the Supreme Court, Gingrich is intellectually over-qualified.

Newt is an original. Has his flaws but is uniformly brilliant and can serve Trump best by being outside the formal government retaining his independence, having access and influence. That way Trump can’t fire him. LOL

This is the Newt I greatly admire, actually “love”. But so often he is so completely untrustworthy. I have puzzled over him and his vast talents for many years. He might have made a good president a number of years ago. So glad to have him aboard with his sharp mind — for now. Wish I did not have to add the “for now”.

People say newt is a “globalist” , et al. They are just wrong. He has been speaking like this since the 70’s – so happy he has the next 8 years to build his long waiting movement across the country. He is in the perfect place.

Thing about newt is – he has actually led a movement before – like he says, so many can just write about how to do it.

Ignore him at our own peril.

If you look back to 2012, and Newt Gingrich’s campaign, you actually see a parallel with Trump’s. I would even go as far to argue, Trump used Newt’s playbook for his campaign.

Newt utilized Facebook and the Debates to his advantage; essentially using Free Media. He even went as far as trying to schedule Lincoln-Douglas debates with his rivals like Herman Cain, Santorum and a few others at the time. However unlike Trump, Newt couldn’t really harness it to sustain his campaign.

If you look at all those who were Never-Trump; they were all Never-Newt back in 2012. Newt even criticized Paul Ryan back in 2011.

So where Newt failed, Trump excelled.

But overall watch the video very enlightening.

Fabulous. We were just saying Newt should have been the nominee in 2012. Probably wouldn’t have won but you can be damn sure he wouldn’t have wimped out like Mitt.

I remember 2012 well. In my state (VA) the GOPe didn’t let Newt on the ballot — said he didn’t get his “paperwork” in in time. (They did the same thing to Perry and a couple of others — it was a “fix” for Romney in my opinion). That is the reason I joined the GOP this year; I wanted a say if the Establishment tried to fix the election for Jeb! or Marco THIS year.

I also remember Newt BEGGING that jerk, Romney, to attack Democrats not his fellow Republicans. Romney ignored him (the way he ignored calls for unity this year and attacked Trump). After two or three debates, Newt finally had enough and savaged Mittens with “RomneyCare” which, of course, the Democrats ran with. Don’t blame them. But Newt held off through many attacks. Each time Romney attacked him, he’d ask for him to attack the Democrats.

But the most important reason Newt didn’t do what Trump was able to do is that Newt is not a billionaire and he couldn’t withstand the GOPe SuperPacs that skewered him in Florida. The Super Pacs/Globalists/Establishment Republicans foisted Romney on us the way they tried to foist Jeb! on us this year (and when he flamed out, Marco). This time Trump had his own money. And he had us — grass roots folks who contributed small amounts monthly. It’s no accident that Trump had virtually NO support from the big spenders.

I don’t generally believe in Divine Intervention in our minuscule lives, but now an then there seems to be no other explanation. The ONLY way to defeat the Globalist Establishment of BOTH parties this year thereby setting up Globalsim for the next 100 years was for someone who was independently wealthy to come along, someone who didn’t need the establishment superpacs (all Globalists) in order to fund his/her campaign. That someone was Donald J. Trump.

      • At the Treehouse we have come to see and receive information that causes us to shake off lies and falsehoods about our position, our thinking, that battle for our mind.

Someone who would give all He had, the most precious thing, for our well being would only be too happy to intervene in our circumstances.

        YY I offer this not in any criticism, but in encouragement;
        Psalms 139
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

The God who names Himself Father to us, the perfect Father, desires to intervene in all of our affairs. He loves us!

Totally spot on. I often think how lucky we are we even had anyone to step up. Without Trump his abilities, ideas and money we’d have had Jeb and he would have lost to Hillary.

      • I believe with all my heart and soul that Divine Intervention is the only reason Trump is PE. God started out years ago with that Military Academy. No pick of God’s was ever perfect, except for one……

        I pray for Trump regularly.

I don’t know how fellow Treepers feel, but I vote to let Newt out of Trump Purgatory, until, of course, his next outburst excoriating the Donald when he shouldn’t, at which time he’ll return promptly to Trump Purgatory.

On a serious note, this is what a highly gratified Trump might have been thinking as he viewed Newt’s wonderful presentation, ‘Is Gingrich really a winner or a loser? I don’t know. I think l’ll call Ivanka.’

I listened to it once and will probably listen again. It was, indeed, very informative and very entertaining. I think the explanation of why Trump won the general election was the best I’ve heard (along with the one about cleaning out the rats in the basement–an analogy I saw in an e-mail).

Take aways from the speech: Trump is not like anyone else who has ever ran for president; the media STILL don’t get him and probably never will, Trump plans to win this war to take back America come hell or high water, and we need to fight, fight, fight, fight, FIGHT on every level every day or we will lose.

But don’t take it from me–go listen for yourself.

Newt points out two of my favorite things about Trump:

One, that Trump has spent his life getting into the minds of his potential customers and imaging how different things will affect the motivation of those customers. It’s a very HUMBLE way of looking at people.

Secondly, Trump is a visionary yet NUTS and BOLTS. He once said something like, I like to see the big picture but I have to measure things down to the square inch. (paraphrasing) The point being that Trump is based in HARD reality. Look at the ugly. Look at the damage. Look in order to fix or avoid. Take a HARD LOOK at reality and work from there. He’s done that his WHOLE life.

Which is the exact opposite of Democrats who live in some kind of fantasy world designed to avoid reality and shirk responsibility.

OK, at around the 8-9 minute mark Newt totally covers up the role of the GOP and right sided punditry in the Uniparty system. Sure, he is talking to the Heritage group but he wasn’t being an honest broker at that point.

    Liked by 1 person

  36. Archie says:

At about the 29 min mark he calls John Galt a coward. Remember how many people in the GOP have been saying ‘Go John Galt’ over the past several years? Trump is the anti-Galt!
Newt continues to ignore the degree to which the GOP does/didn’t/can’t understand Trump. Only sundance has hit the nail on the head with Trump. I read a lot of blogs and everyone is still clueless about Trump on the GOP side.

    Liked by 2 people

  37. Archie says:

Newt kind of understands the Trump movement but seems to be oblivious to the fact that the GOP component of the Uniparty is already bringing out the long-knives and planning to stonewall the legislative agenda. One way the GOP will impede Trump is by bringing up all manner of pet projects, like Social Security reform that are meant as a distraction.
    The speech was a disappointment.

  38. Carol in Oz says:

I enjoyed Newt’s speech, but I just as much enjoyed, or perhaps even more, the reaction of the males sitting in the back row that shows up from time to time. While others laughed at various comments by Newt relating to how the elites and media basically failed to understand what was happening and just did not get Trump, these gentlemen remained completely frozen in unimpressed poker face mode. I therefore presume they were members of said media! So people who could be expected to snicker at any insult passed off as a joke about the PEOTUS no matter how false or even obscene but find zero humour in anything aimed in their own direction.
