I doubt you could find a more representative story to exemplify the current state of American journalism than this one.
Summary Version: A 62-year-old guy in New Jersey was minding his own business – walking down the street, wearing a Donald Trump T-Shirt….
He was attacked by a motorist who stopped his car, got out, and beat the 62-year-old Trump supporter with a crowbar.
The New Jersey news article was written by a reporter named Jessica Mazolla. Read The Article HERE. Please notice The headline reads:
“Man’s Trump T-shirt sparked crowbar attack, cops say”…
So the Trump T-Shirt caused the guy to get beaten with a crowbar…. You getting this?
It’s the “her skirt was too short” argument customarily heard from rape apologists. But, oh, wait, it gets better. The reporter, Jessica Mazzola, gets called out on the ridiculously biased presentation by a few readers in the NJ.COM comment section.
She responds:
Again, focused on “what was on the shirt“.
I guess you never know….
Perhaps the 62-year-old guy was wearing a T-Shirt that says:
“Please beat me with a crowbar”!

Oh yeah, and way down the page you’ll find this little paragraph (emphasis mine):
[…] Witnesses in the parking lot told police they saw the alleged attack, as well, authorities said. The description of the attacker, however, was vague.
The description of the rage-filled guy wielding a crow bar to brutally attack the victim was “too vague” for a mention…. I mean, surely the “eye witnesses” were lacking some filtered perspective of specificity…. but let’s dig into the T-Shirt angle a bit more shall we.
C’mon, we all know he deserved it right?
Right?
Good grief.
Ms. Mazzola hit every single aspect of “journalistic cultural marxism” in one article.
- Step one – Don’t describe the attacker. Then, if possible…
- Step two – Find a way to blame/shame the victim. Then, if possible…
- Step three – Avoid framing the obvious motive against your own political ideology…
- Step four – If confronted, refer to step one.
Jessica Mazzola’s Visual Aides:

Wearing a pro-Trump shirt is a micro(w bar) aggression? Some people need to be hammered on the principle of free speech.

Race censorship is an ADMITTED practice in the press. From 2012, also in New Jersey:
“I called the Star-Ledger and asked if they had a policy of omitting the race of at large crime suspects. The first woman I talked to went to ask her superiors. She came back and told me that there is no formal policy, “but we generally do not publish race.”
“I then asked to speak to crime reporter James Queally who wrote Star-Ledgers’ two articles on the attacks.
“Queally told me that the police report did list the race of the perpetrators and that he censored this information in his two articles on purpose. He also stated that it was the newspapers’ policy to censor race in crime stories.
“I told Queally about numerous other black on white mob attacks all over the nation and explained to him this was part of a trend of racially motivated hate crimes. At this point Queally went from a friendly demeanor to a very arrogant sounding tone. He replied “well somehow myself and everyone else in the media have missed all of these.” I told Queally I have been documenting these hate crime mob attacks and would be happy to e-mail him lots of information. Queally then hung up the phone without a reply.”

Gee, I wonder who the perps were? Well, if it wasn’t stated, then we definitely know, now don’t we! And if we go by their MO, then it’s quite a simple matter of deductive reasoning!

Didn’t see it mentioned, but for me “the elephant in the room” is the presence/use of a “crowbar”. IMO, NJLE frowns upon the carry of burglary tools in a private passenger vehicle operators compartment. That, alone should stir up the local constabulary, but summer in urban NJ and lots of stance events occur. There’s also the report the “….victim declined medical treatment….” which leads me to be suspicious of the alleged “crowbar” as the weapon. Even an old codger like me can pretty much ruin someone;s week – or longer – with an ordinary carpenters wrecking bar.

That’s why I live in a civilized state that supports my right to carry a 9mm.

Hi Sundance,
Funny how Sporting words on a shirt, hat or what ever (it’s a Banner) indicating ones’ affiliation with the expressed idea can insight such a violent reaction from someone not of the same affiliation!! Jeez, People waving Flags of the “National Socialist Party” don’t even come close to something like this expressed in this article….. Anymore in this country one cannot be “too aware” of their surroundings!! Col. Jeff Coopers’ 4 material conditions…White, Yellow, Orange and Red come to mind. One doesn’t even have to be wearing a Shirt with “Trump” or anything of the like on it …just look like you might and it could get you killed…. “Crowbar” small, medium or large it matters not… Now lets change the scenario a bit ….The Name and place change but “The Banner” evoked “stone cold hate.” To get the whole story go to http://www.sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com 03AUG2016 “Statistics tells us it does not matter what you carry so long as you carry” Just for starters, read the first 3 paragraphs and note “The difference between this and the “crowbar story.”
Funny how that goes????

So, say you are wise, and therefore carry, and, supporting Trump, choose to wear his name. Do you have a hope in hell of avoiding and surviving a malicious criminal prosecution if you have to “successfully” defend yourself at the expense of a politically favored attacker “provoked” by your attire?
Would not these IslamoMarxists insist that you not only “asked for it,” but went “hunting,” seeking conflict, wearing your bait on your shirt? Of course there’s also the old chestnut that you were “blood-thirsty” by nature, as indicated, again, by your “racist” “hateful” attire.
I’m seriously asking here. Rule One of carrying is to avoid conflict. Avoid bad areas, situations, people, and any form of provocation.
I’ve avoided Trump swag for that very reason.
I know I have my rights. That I should not fear advertising my conviction that only Trump can save and fix the US. I do speak out, but I don’t broadcast it.
Having Rights, being in the right, still, I don’t trust the Marxist prosecutors and their malicious prosecutions. Nor my twelve “peers” drawn from the most ignorant ghetto justice lottery people they can find.
I can’t be the only similarly concerned Patriot.

Many Excellent points Maquis, and why anyone who carries should purchase CC insurance. I’ve seen figures anywhere from $250K and up to defend ones self against a gun charge. CC Insurance, just like any other form of insurance is a PITA to have to fork out hard earned money for something you may never need, but…I for one know that it has given me some peace of mind. I honestly hope I never have to use my weapon, and obviously there is no guarantee that your defense will be successful, but at least you won’t be bankrupt when it’s over.
