Dr. Baden, The Media, And The Ridiculous Second Mike Brown Autopsy….

Dr. Baden is expected to speak to the Saint Louis Grand Jury today about his efforts on behalf of the Mike Brown family to conduct and independent autopsy. With that in mind it’s worthwhile to showcase how ridiculous this entire episode is, and why it’s taking place.

When does media reporting become actual collusion with selling propaganda ? Perhaps the story of Mike Brown’s autopsy will provide food for thought.

We suspected from the outset the Parks and Crump version of the Mike Brown autopsy was likely just a propaganda ploy to sell their narrative. We knew New York Times reporter Frances Robles was sympathetic to their scheme because she was similarly predisposed in 2012 with the Trayvon Martin narrative.

In 2012 Robles worked for the Miami Herald. Indeed, based on history, we expected to see blurred lines of journalistic ethics.

What we didn’t expect with the Mike Brown story was the New York Times, and Robles, to eliminate the ethical lines completely.

new york times screenshot 3

As you can see above, Frances Robles arrived in Ferguson Missouri the morning of the autopsy Aug 17th. Perhaps she and forensic pathologist Dr. Baden flew in together. After all, they departed the same city, from the same airport, on the same date, with the same destination in mind.

More interesting though is something within the New York Times article as printed. You’ll notice a picture of Dr. Baden and Shawn Parcells. (screen shot below).

Here’s a larger screen grab of the image itself (click to enlarge).

IMPORTANT NOTE: The picture was taken by New York Times Photographer Eric Thayer.

We can tell the photo was taken inside the Austin Lane mortuary because the funeral home lobby has very distinct characteristics: 3-sided foyer, with red carpet, gold piston-hinged doors, ceiling-to-floor white drapes, etc.

That picture taken by New York Times photographer Eric Thayer is definitely inside the Austin A Lane funeral home and mortuary. Here’s what the funeral home entrance looks like from the outside.

That means the New York Times was with Shawn Parcells and Dr. Baden during the events of the second autopsy itself on Sunday August 17th.

The New York Times was present during the autopsy.

Knowing the NYT and Brown Family Team were together reconciles another question we held. How did the Times publish an article so quickly?

.

new york times screenshot 4

The “exclusive access” page A-1 print article hit the NYT on-line section around 8:00pm.

Perhaps now people will be able to recognize how these events are carefully scripted and packaged by the Scheme Team of Daryl Parks and Benjamin Crump, then sold by their media cohorts like Frances Robles.

It’s not really “news” when the reporters are embedded with the team constructing the news.

The lines of collusion are obvious. Hence the scheme team term “Media Evidence”.

So the New York Times was blatantly supporting the Brown Family narrative – this autopsy was not a leak or Brown Family press release. This was a collaborate effort.

And now you can begin to see why the Robles script writing was so troubling; and why it avoided some of the key problems within the structure of the autopsy itself. Problems like an uncertified, untrained, and unqualified person such as Shawn Parcells conducting the autopsy prior to Baden’s arrival.

Do I have your attention now ? Read on…..

Parks and Crump

On Friday August 15th, in response to the Ferguson Police releasing the strong-arm robbery video at the Ferguson Liquor Market, Daryl Parks held a press conference.

During the press conference Mr. Parks was asked a question about his organizing a 2nd autopsy of the body of “Big Mike” Brown. He responded thusly:

…”it’s done, and we’ll talk about that later, we’re not answering any questions about the second autopsy at this time; we will -in time- do that”….

However, when the autopsy was published as ‘media evidence’ the night of Sunday 8/17 by the New York Times (Robles), the article stated the autopsy was conducted by Shawn Parcells and Dr. Michael Baden on 8/17.

As the Times outlines Dr. Baden flew to Saint Louis on 8/17 to perform the task.

Well obviously you can see a problem.

How can Brown family attorney Daryl Parks say the second autopsy was completed prior to the Friday 8/15 press conference, if Dr. Baden didn’t arrive until Sunday 8/17 ?

The legacy media and the New York Times obviously didn’t question the disparity, so we wrote about it HERE hoping to bring in the sunlight.

A pathology blog, already holding previous concerns about the use of unlicensed, uncertified and untrained Shawn Parcells, picked up the issue we outlined and contacted Mr Parcells for clarification.

[…] Obviously this is a very serious allegation, especially in such a high profile case such as this, and I wanted to give Mr. Parcells a chance to respond. I called and left a message on his voice mail, and he called me back within five minutes.

Mr. Parcells readily admitted he went to St. Louis a few days prior to Dr. Baden’s arrival so as to help the Brown family’s attorneys with some administrative matters.

While he was there, he learned the mortuary where Mr. Brown’s body was being held was planning to embalm him due to the fact it did not have a cooler in which to store the body.

Mr. Parcells stated he did take some photographs of Mr. Brown’s body and injuries in order to document the appearance of the gunshot wounds prior to embalming since the embalming process can alter gross findings.

But Mr. Parcells was emphatic Dr. Baden, who did review the pre-embalming photographs Mr. Parcells took, was physically present and conducted the official second forensic examination of Mr. Brown’s body on August 17th.

Mr. Parcells then asked me to look at an image of the preliminary autopsy diagram he and Dr. Baden put together, which is below (click to enlarge).

Brown-Autopsy-Diagram

However, despite the New York Times, CBS, Washington Post, and Associated Press calling Shawn Parcells a “forensic pathologist”, he’s not. Not even close.

[…] After Mr. Parcells described himself as a “forensic pathologist assistant and medical investigator”, Dr. Mitchell says:

That is a degree that does not exist in my knowledge, except in the mind of Shawn Parcells…You cannot claim the title, because it is a formal, licensable position. You can assist somebody; in this way I can say, for instance, I have paid my taxes, so I am an assistant President of the United States…He has none of the qualifications that are required. He has experience as a morgue technician, somebody who would move bodies around, clean up after an autopsy…

To his credit, Mr. Parcells admitted he is not certified as a pathologist assistant, but rather he is qualified due to his experience working under Dr. Young.

To this Dr. Young responded:

“Shawn hung out at the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office but was not trained by me.”…. “He has been representing himself in a way that is not appropriate by giving forensic pathology opinions when he is not qualified to do so.

So, it would appear, if we are to reconcile the Daryl Parks statement, an unlicensed guy who “hung out at the Jackson County Medical Examiners office” named Shawn Parcells, was given instructions by Parks and Crump to do a 2nd autopsy, which they now claim was only pictures and preliminary autopsy work, prior to the arrival of Dr. Michael Baden, who would do the “real second autopsy”, now technically the 3rd, a few days later.

Both ‘hang out guy’ Parcells, and Dr. Baden signed off on the autopsy diagram.

A diagram which, after they signed, was then manipulated by Parks and crump to give the appearance of another injury to the back and inner aspect of the right arm – therefore selling their media narrative of evidence for a shot from the rear.

mike brown autopsy presser

This, we call, the mysterious “Red Mark” noticed during the live media broadcast – which is absolutely not present in either the original diagram, or the diagram published in the accompanying New York Times article.

OK, got it ?

This is how the factual construct of an official autopsy, is spun inside the blender of Daryl Parks and Benjamin Crump, and now officially becomes, ta da’, Media Evidence.

But why would Dr. Baden go along with the ruse and risk his “credibility”? A question raised by some, but within the pathological community (‘forensic’ intentionally omitted), a question long ago since answered and recently encapsulated:

You folks who are old enough to remember the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson will know the name. He was a well respected forensic pathologist who began selling his services and his testimony to the highest bidder.

He is the “expert” who testified for O.J. Simpson, then, when questioned by the media about his testimony claimed he hadn’t said what he said on the stand. Baden also “testilied” for the defense in the murder trial of music mogul Phil Specter.

But hey, his wife was Specter’s defense attorney. What would you do to keep peace in the family?

We wouldn’t have hired someone with those sorts of questionable ethics, but the Brown family can do what they want while they have someone else paying the freight and looking for a big payout later.

Baden tells Fox News that Brown was shot six times, four times in the right arm, twice in the head, and one of those wounds was in the top of the head. Interesting. Every time a black thug is shot by police we are treated to statements like “He didn’t deserve to die like that. They could have shot him in the leg or something.” Well, it seems this officer did just that by putting four rounds into Brown’s right arm. Brown kept coming. The wound to the top of the head indicates Brown was likely still charging at the officer when he caught that one.

The race hustlers haven’t quite figured out how to spin that fact yet. Don’t worry, they will figure out something with the help of Dr. Baden. They are trying hard, though.

They held a press conference this morning claiming those six wounds support the stories told by “witnesses”. Um, yeah, not so much. They hope you will concentrate solely on the number of rounds fired and forget all those other aspects of the “witness” statements where they claimed Brown was standing there with his hands in the air and other nonsense not supported by the Fact family.

You could claim Parcells and Baden reviewed Parcells earlier work, checked the photographs, and then redid the entire autopsy again – while together on 8/17 – as the New York Times sat waiting in the lobby…

….But given what we know of the historical track record another plausible situation is just as possible: The guy who “hung around the mortuary“, Parcells, did the make shift autopsy, and Baden flew in, looked over the body, and signed off on it solely to give it credibility.

How did the non-credentialed, non-accredited and non-licensed Shawn Parcells and Baden’s path’s cross?

2010 […]   “However, I assisted Dr. Michael Baden, a famous and talented forensic pathologist, with a case once. A family had hired him to perform a second autopsy to see if the ruling of suicide was correct; they felt their family member could not have shot himself because of a shoulder issue. The man had been buried for 18 months but was well preserved, and we were able to perform our work to determine the manner and cause of death. We concluded it was a suicide, and in the process, I was also able to meet and work with Kathy Reichs, a famed forensic anthropologist. The case was featured on A&E’s ‘Investigative Reports’ with Bill Curtis, and so I had a short five minutes of fame. I learned so much at the young age of 19 working with Dr. Baden, not to mention I loved his show ‘AUTOPSY’ on HBO—and here I was working with the same person!” (link)

And just so you can be sure the hammer hits the nail head squarely – This guy Shawn Parcells is a massive liar of significant proportions as evidenced by his own explanation of his credentials unbelievably delivered to a court in 2011 (pdf link here)

ANY QUESTIONS ?

Oh, and one more thing, in regard to the “top of head shot” that’s drawn so much attention from the Parks and Crump camp, we’d like to draw your attention to an almost identical shot pattern fired last year by FBI officers as they were charged by another thug, Ibragim Todashev.

      Prosecutors are allowing and welcoming Dr. Baden’s testimony before the Grand Jury to pacify the Park, Crump and Justice For Mike Brown family and protester Mob. There are several reasons;

This demonstrates and proves that the GJ is still looking at evidence and hearing witness testimony.

Allows more time for Obama’s racist BGI foot soldiers to deescalate Mob tension they created.

Allows more time for bad weather to develop (maybe snow blizzard) to announce GJ decision.

Any forensic or autopsy findings Dr. Baden try’s to twist around would certainly be clarified and nullified by the testimony of Dr. Gershom Norfleet M.D. Assistant Medical Examiner who performed the official autopsy on Michael Brown at the St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s facility in St. Louis Mo..

if nothing significant happens, count on them using it as an investment in grievance, horror and insurrection later on. It is all about control. No matter how much credence they want to give it, it won’t hold up against the original autopsy. Baden is supposed to testify that some of the shots weren’t at close range suggesting the possibility that Brown was shot far away and holding his hands up.Stupid people believe whatever they can twist to fit their narrative.

Keep in mind, the Grand Jury has already heard from the ME that did the full and complete autopsy. At the press conference, Baden couldn’t identify exit wounds from entrance wounds. If they compare the statements he made then, compared to what he is claiming now, they will see how it’s changed. I am sure he will be asked who paid him. He can claim Pro Bono, but at the request of Parks/Crump/Brown Family. The Grand Jury is told to keep in mind that some witnesses may be biased. A jury is told they can choose to believe some of the testimony, all of the testimony or disregard it all, if they feel a witness is biased.

This is what I wanted to ask. In the course of the GJ investigation, the jurors themselves may ask questions of the witnesses, but I wasn’t certain if the DA could do so as well… apparently the answer to that is yes.

So, why the inclusion of Dr. Baden’s testimony as this late juncture, in what must be the waning days if not hours of the GJ process? The only things I can think of are: there was pressure on the DA to include this “evidence” either from external forces or perhaps at the request of one or more jurors or, in the event of an indictment, the Baden autopsy would be expected to constitute part of the State’s evidence. Expected by the media, external forces and the Crump team.

I am guessing that the St. Louis DA office is not stupid. If a trial is to result, Mccullogh is not going to want to enter into evidence this autopsy which, in my opinion does not add anything to the body of knowledge on the matter but does raise serious questions about the credibility of an investigation in which this autopsy is one of the results, even if privately conducted.

By bringing it forward at the GJ stage, the DA office can be seen to be considering and allowing the GJ to consider all evidence, while at the same time, through questioning of Dr. Baden, relegating it to the evidenciary dustbin. In doing so, any last minute doubts the grand jurors may have about the multiple autopsies would be put to rest and, in the event of an indictment, the DA office would be off the hook as far as any expectations for using this evidence are concerned.

Or, maybe I am over-analyzing here. Just having trouble figuring why this testimony now, right at the end.

What I didn’t realize until today is that the Grand Jury can return an indictment for the lesser charge of Manslaughter. So now, just like in the George Zimmerman case, I’m worried they’ll split the decision just to satisfy the rioting mobs. The members of the Grand Jury surely know what’s been going on for months now. They may decide to throw the dogs a bone and pass the buck to a trial jury.

I would think the State’s witness would suffice for that. And, if he were going to be called in, I would have though he would testify at the same time the other medical examiner did. I just find it curious and feel there was some pressure to put him on the stand from Crump, Sharpton, Holder, et al to appease the family and the protesters. At least when the No True Bill is handed down they can say they “tried” and their witness was allowed to testify to the GJ.

Let’s see if I have got this right. The violent, criminal parents of a violent, criminal 18 year old who forced a decent cop to kill him, found an illiterate, affirmative action lawyer who hired a pseudo-forensics expert with no credentials to do a second autopsy on a body that was already washed and embalmed and had an ethically challenged forensic expert of questionable credentials sign on to legitimize it, and THEN lied about what they found (the extra red mark). Is that about it?

I think it would be a mistake to underestimate the intelligence of STL County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch. He’s playing 3-D Vulcan chess while the DOJ and Crump & Parks are playing checkers. Dr. Baden offered to testify after the DOJ leak about the evidence a few weeks ago, I believe it was about the evidence on Michael Brown’s thumb. The STL County ME said MB’s thumb had evidence of powder consistent with the gun being fired at immediately close range, meaning MB’s hand was on Wilson’s gun. In the article I read, Baden said it could have been dirt from the street and offered to testify.

Now I would think they could do a chemical analysis of the material on the thumb. If the analysis shows chemicals consistent with firing a gun and not street dirt, and they have other evidence that shows MB’s hand on the gun, would Baden change his opinion?

So Baden could have been invited as a bone to DOJ and Brown family, as a way to cross T’s and dot I’s and remove more doubt, and perhaps, to support the no bill decision as Baden publicly changes his opinion after being presented with more evidence. Once TV personality Dr. Baden goes public with that, fewer people decide to come out and “protest” because it looks like a justifiable shooting.

Waiting for the weather to turn cold, calculated leaks, the infighting among protestors, etc., it’s all designed to whittle down the numbers of protestors so that those who show up once the decision is announced are the ones truly committed to a race war. Then the cops don’t have to try to distinguish between bad actors from misguided fools. And the bad actors can be handled with neatness and dispatch. JMHO.

Trapping someone like Baden should not be entering McCulloch’s thoughts when it comes to a grand jury. No, its purpose is to present evidence and efficiently determine whether charges should be brought.

Just because the DOJ engages in gamesmanship doesn’t mean that the St. Louis criminal justice system should degrade itself, tit-for-tat, even if McColluch is more adept at it. Going down all of these rabbit holes in order to play the gotcha game is too cute by half.

What McCulloch needs to do is have his underlings wrap up this farce and tell it like it is, without any extraneous interlopers like Baden.

I don’t think it’s about “trapping” Baden. Baden has an opinion based on seeing only a small part of the evidence. For example, Baden said he didn’t have access to MB’s clothes. It seems to me the GJurors and prosecutors could ask questions about where Baden’s opinion differs from the ME’s opinion and how that fits with all the other evidence and testimony that they’ve been given.

The tell will be if the GJ decision is not released this weekend as the BGI hopes.

What needs to be done is to present bona fide evidence, and not the junk science cooked up by the pretend team led by Baden. Leading hoaxsters and their delusions before a grand jury is not how the process is supposed to work. It a corruption of the process that should not happen under any circumstances, simply for aims–entirely political–beyond the legitimate duties of the criminal justice system.

He spoke regarding GSR on the hand:

“BADEN: The decedent, yes. And his blood was found by the FBI in the car. So, that, I think, is agreed upon. There is some gunshot residue in the hand, only seen under the microscope. It wasn’t seen the first autopsy on the skin surface but under the skin.

GUILFOYLE: Again, on Michael Brown. So that’s GSR, gunshot residue, which would suggest that he was in close proximity with the weapon, right, of the officer?

BADEN: Right, yes. So, and that gun shot wound of the car would fit that description.”

      IMO;

St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert P. McCulloch, has played this whole ordeal as well as it could be handled considering all the forces, including his own Governor, that have worked against him throughout this case.

McCulloch withstood and fought off all the many attacks made on him by many powerful hostile adversaries. He has kept everything on track as far as this case with the Grand Jury goes. No rush to prosecute as the Governor Nixon would have liked. No leaks until the great DOJ started pouring them out, something which McCulloch has no control over.

In spite of Governor Nixon, DOJ Holder, CRS Holder, the Park-Crump machine, Brown family of thugs, racist Obama and the BGI leaders, I feel Robert McCulloch has done an excellent job of bringing and presenting all the facts to the Grand Jury so that honest justice can prevail in the Mike Brown case.

And, pursuing anything other than the Mike Brown shooting case should be handled as a totally separate matter.

I knew I’ve seen Parcells somewhere before when he suddenly popped up at Baden’s side in Ferguson, but I could not find the link. With this post, it all came back – there is an enlightening but disturbing article on the above mentioned website, PathologyBlawg.com on this fraud and charlatan, whom they were already looking into in May 2013. Here are just some highlights:
    * Parcells has ZERO medical, pathology or forensic education or training, other than his self-admitted ‘hanging out at autopsies’. He has a BS in Life Sciences/Chemistry from Kansas State from 2003.
    * June 2010 – Parcells started Parcells Forensic Pathology Group, LLC. in Kansas with himself as a sole proprietor with a self-assigned title of Forensic Pathology Assistant//Chief Medical Investigator/CEO and Chairman.
    * PFPG was investigated by Missouri Medical Board in 2011, case closed and sealed in 2012, and the company entered delinquency.
    * Nov 2012 – Parcells set up ‘Kansas Forensics’ where he is listed as a Managing Partner/ Expert Forensic Consultant although he seems to have learned his lesson – well, maybe just a little one – as this time there is a Dr. Borel listed as a Medical Director. Alas he has no ME/ Pathology/ Forensics credentials either, and seems to be only a figurehead, rubberstamping illegal autopsies that Parcells still performs.
    http://pathologyblawg.com/pathology-news/pathology-law/forensic-pathology/was-bachelor-science-performing-unsupervised-forensic-autopsies-missouri/

This is the best part. As is now evident, it is OK to be a pretend ME/ Pathologist in the state of Missouri, but being limited to just one pretend profession is so incredibly constraining for some ‘gifted people’. So why not push the envelope a little further, especially if ‘the spirit moves you’? Follow your dreams, kids.(/s) -> In 2012 Parcells set up Shawn Parcells Ministries in his home town of 3 years. It’s original website has now been taken down, but he has a blog here:

His latest post there, from May 2014, is signed Pastor Shawn.

How can YOU expect justice based on law when the law does not mean what you thought it meant?

As pointed out in the linked article, Parcells claims to have “participated in over a (sic) 1000 autopsy cases, over 1000 case reviews, and has testified in court for both the prosecution and defense ‘as an expert in Forensic Medicine’ in Missouri, Georgia and Texas”

Now, wasn’t there somebody in those court cases, too who should have gotten to the bottom of this guy’s scam long ago? How many cases might have been tainted, or ended up in a complete miscarriage of justice, just because of Parcells?

Why is Baden even being allowed to testify about an autopsy he didn’t perform? Parcells performed the autopsy days before Baden even flew into town… that cat’s already out of the bag, has run down the road, and it ain’t never coming back.

Under the concept of ‘laying a foundation,’ Parcells would need to be called to testify BEFORE you put Baden on the stand to corroborate his findings.

Granted, we saw a similar scenario in the Zimmerman trial when Shiping ‘I Know Nothings” Bao attempted to give testimony about work performed by an assistant in his medical examiner’s office. And as much of a disaster as his testimony was, Bao at least had an actual working relationship with the assistant and could legitimately speak on behalf of the work that was being done in his office despite his not being present during the actual autopsy.

…of course that’s assuming Parcells wasn’t called to testify, maybe he was, but if he wasn’t it seems like they’re skipping a necessary step.

I don’t know what to think about McCulloch having him testify. The Brown camp said the GJ wanted to hear from him. But if so, then does that mean that GJ members don’t get the same instructions as regular jurors about avoiding news about the cases they hear?

It could be that Baden told Calhoun (I love that) that he hadn’t been called yet, and so then McCulloch was pressured to call him. I can envision a conference call: Al, Val, Holder, maybe even Obama. Then the call to Nixon who called McCulloch.
