DOJ Grande Lum and Eric Holder Using CNN Again – CNN Reports Ferguson Police Chief Leaving – Chief Jackson Says “That’s News To Me”…

The DOJ (Eric Holder and CRS Head Grande Lum) are up to their tricks again.   CNN reports on federal officials who say Police Chief Thomas Jackson is leaving to quell Ferguson unrest.  *Big Alerts and Flashy Signals For Emphasis*

Police Chief Jackson has no idea what they’re talking about; no-one has talked to him.

CNN screenshot ferguson(CNN) — The police chief in Ferguson, Missouri, is expected to step down as part of the effort by city officials to reform the Police Department, according to government officials familiar with the discussions ongoing between local, state and federal officials.

Under the proposed plan, after Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson leaves, city leadership would ask the St. Louis County police chief to take over management of Ferguson’s police force.

The announcement could come as soon as next week. It would be one step in what local officials hope will help reduce tensions in the city as the public awaits a decision on whether the St. Louis County grand jury will bring charges against Officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown.  (read more)

FERGUSON • Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson said tonight that he has no plans to resign, despite a CNN report to the contrary.

“It’s absolutely not true. Nobody has asked me to resign nor have I been fired,” Jackson said.  He added: “If I do resign, it will be my own choice.”

CNN’s report cited unnamed “government officials familiar with the discussions ongoing between local, state and federal officials” as saying Jackson is expected to step down.

Mayor James Knowles III confirmed that Jackson has not resigned. “He’s stayed strong with us to this point,” Knowles said by text tonight. “Don’t see that changing.”

Jackson has been Ferguson police chief since 2010. Before that, he had been with the St. Louis County Police Department since 1979.  (read more)

The chief is in the catbird seat…. just ask those who are announcing your resignation “what is it worth to you?”. Get cash money up front, let it clear the bank first, then let the “city” devour itself. The chief could then reneg and throw it all in a tizzy…. donate the $$$ to victims of knockout games or such.
I hope that Chief sticks it to them hard, torn membrane hard.

It sounds to me like they are trying to strong arm the chief. I am sure the DOJ/CRS would like to have a scapegoat for the mistrust of the police by the black community. He has done nothing wrong and shouldn’t have to leave unless it is his choice. Holder is sore at him for putting the video of the robbery out in the public. I commend the chief for doing so and for the way he handled things up to the point they took it away from him and made NBPP lover Ron Johnson in charge.

Yep, I think they’ll have to give them both big fat checks to leave but those checks would have big “silence” clauses. I’m not sure either one would take that paycheck because after all this crap I think they wouldn’t want to let these POS’s win anything (mayor and city council too I hope). Perhaps both can turn down the paycheck and get paid pretty well on their own via book deal or something along those lines… I couldn’t blame either for taking a pay day and getting out of dodge though. If either do get fired, I hope union goes on strike, which they all probably want to at this point anyways!

Is this another bungled move by the Obama administration, leaking information before the right parties (fed, state, county, local) are even on board? Do the Feds even have the authority to swoop in and make changes to a local municipality? A town that I used to live in once studied the feasibility of switching their law enforcement responsibilities from their city dept. to the County. There are all kinds of issues involved, and was going to be a long drawn out process. They ended up deciding they were best served locally. You don’t just wave your magic wand and it’s done.

Regarding the task force that 20 year old ALexis Templeton will be on, good luck with that.

Our local news just had this story on & said the only way the Ferguson PD can be taken over by the County is if the Ferguson City Council voted for it to be so. The DOJ cannot decide this, according to them. Both the Chief & Mayor are saying it isn’t going to happen. And yes, they are calling for them to fire Wilson as well. Holder’s “people” want prison sentences, at a minimum, and preferably to have Wilson shot dead in front of them. Getting Wilson and/or Jackson fired won’t buy any peanuts.

Well the DOJ can get Johnson fired, but to do that they would have to document systematic abuses by the police department over many years. They would then have to bring suit against the department, and take over the department. Then they could fire the Cheif, but it is a long process, and will take several years.

Ferguson Police Chief: I am not resigning
(KMOV.com) – Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson told News 4 he is not resigning despite reports to the contrary.
It had been reported that Jackson planned to step down. However, shortly after the report came out, Jackson said the report was not correct.
“I have not been told I must resign nor have I been fired. If I do resign in the future it will be my choice. However, it is not imminent,” Jackson told News 4’s Matt Sczesny.
Some have speculated that Jackson may step down as part of an overhaul and reform of the department.
Jackson was not publically discussed at a meeting of Ferguson’s City Council Tuesday. The council passed two resolutions urging state lawmakers to change laws that cover police related shootings.
“We are saying these are issues that the city of Ferguson can’t address on its own. The state has to address them, but we will speak out, say our peace, and work with our legislators in Jefferson City to make some of those changes,” Ferguson Mayor James Knowles said.
“I think positive steps are being taken,” said Ferguson resident Alexis Templeton.
Templeton was also named to Ferguson’s Citizen Review Board.

I agree. There should be some positive steps taken to ensure nothing like this ever happens again.

Beginning immediately, every person who is receiving state or federal benefits or subsidies (with the exception of social security, VA benefits, certain disability benefits, or other specific benefits that may be exempt) shall attend classes every Saturday from 9 am to 12 noon, on How to Be a Good Neighbor. All members of the household, from the age of 12, shall be included, unless otherwise excused for health or employment reasons. Age appropriate classes will be provided during this time period to meet the needs of all participants.

Classes will extensively cover the history of America’s founding in the words of the founders themselves and from other original documents throughout our history. We will learn about the Constitution and what it means to your rights as an American citizen, the Natural Law that underpins the philosophies of freedom, what it means to have unalienable rights and your responsibility in protecting them. We will look extensively at how these simple, but important concepts help everyone be a good neighbor and how they can change your life for the better.

Classes will also include instructions on good manners, how to positively present yourself in behavior and dress and how to use knowledge and reason to make good decisions.

Discussions will be held the last hour of each class. Tests will also be given periodically to help each individual understand their strengths and weaknesses. Classes missed due to employment or illness will be offered at additional times each week for make up.

Unexcused absences, failing grades and disruptive behavior may result in termination of benefits. Parents are responsible for the proper behavior of their children.

This is for YOU! Know your rights, how they came to be, why they are important to you and how knowledge is the key to freedom and independence.

All classes will be taught by instructors who are well educated and informed on the original intent of the Constitution and have taken an oath to never use unsubstantiated or politically biased sources, such as Howard Zinn’s “The People’s History”, though these misleading materials may be used to start the grill for our monthly hotdog and covered dish luncheon.

Nurseries and playtime will be provided for children under the age of 12 by volunteers from the wider community.

We look forward to helping YOU build a better life through truth, knowledge and independence! This is your most basic fundamental right. Let’s use it!

The county take over would nullify what they’ve been whining about. They want local residents on the police force. County you can live anywhere within STL County and I can guarantee most of them do not live in Ferguson now nor would they choose to. The one benefit, everyone would get a raise since STLCO pays more than Ferguson. If you think about it, it would be kinda poetic justice and a slap in the face to the protesters. The officers won’t be fired, they’d be absorbed into the County force, moved to other jurisdictions within STLCO, and get their new raises. At this point, If I was a Ferguson PO, I’d love to be offered the chance to get out of there.

I personally believe this guy should truly lose his job because he is not protecting and serving the people of ferguson. first thing is that he should had never giving out the name of Wilson because Wilson is not even a suspect. the second thing he did was allowing the rioters to go too far. If he arrested the leaders and prevented out side groups from entering ferguson, the city would be in a better position now. the third thing he should had done was provide more protective gears for his officers because they need protection. If the chief can not even protect his own men, then he should truly lose his job.

If the wild animals in Ferguson want to destroy their “cage” let them. The business owners and citizens, the tax payers, of Ferguson, St. Louis County and the State of Missouri shouldn’t contribute one dime toward rebuilding it, either. Let them live amongst the squalor they’ve created. Let them figure out how to travel outside of their area to get groceries, snacks, fast food, etc. They should be forced to reap what they’ve sown. Otherwise, their behavior is being sanctioned and reinforced. Period.

There will be some big changes in within the Ferguson Police Department, those changes or recommendations will come from the ongoing investigation that has been going on relating to the past activities of the police department. The beginning of those changes will be the Chief of Police in Ferguson will resign, the operations of the department will be under the Chief of St. Louis County. The next step will be to hire more minorities within the department, but good luck to that, the city will be hard pressed to find any qualified applicants that would want to be a law enforcement officer in Ferguson. Even if there are some, it will not happen overnight, as once there are applicants, the applications will have to be reviewed, oral interviews with the applicants, then a review of those who are qualified. Once decisions are made, the future hires have to attend law enforcement training, then on-the-job training, issued equipment and etc. which entails weeks before any can go out onto the streets to work. However, good luck on that, no one would be in their right mind to want a job in Ferguson. It is a given that Officer Wilson will not be back, he would never consider that option, if he is in his right mind.
The City of Ferguson has been torn down, mostly by out of towners protesting and causing the riots, looting, vandalism, assaults on police officers and basically tying their hands to enforce the law. I feel sorry for the Ferguson residents who live there, own their homes and intended to live out their lives in Ferguson. Their chances of selling their homes and relocate are nil to none, after all the problems there and all over the media for potential homebuyers to purchase a home.
It is going to be interesting to see how this all turns out, but whatever it is, something has to be done now to stop the thug protesters and arrest them, charge them, jail them, whatever it takes to remove these thugs from the town. I am afraid once the verdict relating to Officer Wilson is announced, whether guilty or not guilty, the protesters will not be satisfied and never will be. The biggest problem is to find the personnel and plan to rid Ferguson of these type of people, and good luck on that happening.
