Day #4 – Federal Government Shutdown – Media Flailing To Drum Up Opposition To GOP

happy-day

Still Dancing….

And so we enter Day #4 of the federal shutdown with the media still gnashing it’s horrible teeth determined to frame the horrid Republican Anarchists, Terrorists, jihadists.   But the electorate continue to defy the media demands.

CBS Polling shows when the government shut down back in November 1995, 51 percent of Americans blamed the Republicans in Congress, while 28 blamed President Bill Clinton.

And what are those numbers today? 44% blame GOP, 35% blame Obama, and 17% blame both.  Imagine what the polling would be if the media reporting was neutral.

But the media was able to find an OFA organizer who signed up for Obamacare.  Only there was one little issue they didn’t share.  His premium TRIPLED.

American media outlets were finally able to track down a mythical creature — a person who actually signed up for the Obamacare exchanges online.

But that person, Chad Henderson, admitted to the Washington Post that the premium for the plan he enrolled in was $175. Ouch! Wasn’t Obamacare supposed to lower premiums?

Henderson’s going to pay a $175 premium and he won’t even receive vision or dental insurance. He has contacts, so not having vision insurance is kind of a bum deal.

Henderson, as far as we know a healthy, 21-year-old college student at Chattanooga State Community College who lives in Flintstone, Ga., and works part-time at a day-care center, did not qualify for tax credits to purchase insurance, according to the Post.

Without Obamacare, Henderson could have received health insurance for as little as $44.72 on eHealthInsurance.com, according to Michael F. Cannon of the Cato Institute.

“I can’t yet say whether Chad’s $175 premium is the lowest-cost plan available to him through the Obamacare Exchange,” Cannon said. “[I’m in the process of researching that, and it’ll probably take a few hours.] But it’s probably close.”  (link)

But that ridiculous media swarm was just one example.   CNN continued their banner carrying when they gleefully aired a “hot mic incident” between Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul.

Hurricane Karen is heading their way per NOAA predictions. It will be just a TS by Tuesday when it hits the DC region so the government would have been shutdown anyway. I expect the storm to take some of the media’s attention away from the projection spewing from Harry Reid and the White House. Of course the Tea Party and global warming will have made it rain really hard for a day or so in DC. And nobody cares.

I have a family member who is a liberal, the only kind of liberals I associate with, the kind I have to. Anyway she 99.9% of the time supports anything proposed or done by a democrat. Last night she called and blamed Obama and Reid as being childish for refusing to even negotiate.

It’s happening, the tables are turning. I’m trying to dissuade those hung up on this dental lady, because I got sucked in yesterday. Here is a little motivation and one of the best wake up songs ever!!!!! Ever!!!!! Headphones = 10x better

I tend to be a bit of a purist about the Star Spangled Banner and I don’t care much for this type of music. But, this had chills running up and down my body. I really really like it.

Awesome production! I’m inclined to “softer” presentations, but will pass this one on to the many who will appreciate the effort that went into this work. Thanks many times over.

The very first time I ever heard ‘Star Spangled Banner’ I comprehended the spirit and the character of this nation. When I heard the young Whitney Houston rendition, it broke my heart with its magnificence. It became my go-to version in my mind.
Then you were so kind to post this one – Oh my Lord! This is now and forever my favorite. It steeled my heart, and it restored my faith in the potential of America (sometimes that is all it takes). I am READY TO SINGLEHANDEDLY DRAG THIS USURPER OUT OF THE PEOPLE’S HOUSE!
There HAS TO BE A WAY to get him out now! His HATE for this country and this nation have no equal. And his delusions, more grandiose with each passing hour, are now threatening the very survival of the Republic. HE HAS TO GO!!!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me a new Fighting Song. (BTW, I only managed to pull the ear buds out and stop the streaming after 30 min of non-stop play, and only to write this post).

I think we would be better positioned if our demand was no more deficit spending. Simply no more borrowing, but fund the government with tax receipts. From there we could then negotiate and say, ok, we agree to some borrowing but you have to delay Obama care.

“Wasn’t Obamacare supposed to lower premiums?”

Remember when he announced that he wanted everybody’s electric bill to skyrocket?

The young Obama cheerleaders won’t be signing up so there will be an inadequate subsidy to cover the costs for sick folks with preexisting conditions and the whole thing will tank. Obama will then step in with a plan to put all aspects of healthcare under full socialist government control.

Obama made a huge tactical error by saying that he would not compromise with anything related to Obama-care and spending. Harry Reid hasn’t helped their cause either because he speaks before he thinks.

Most of these polls are heavily stacked with more democrats answering than conservatives. I don’t think this one is going to work out like Obama planned. Love that the one who signed up wasn’t really a success at all but more of a reality about just how badly Obamacare is working.

I look at these poles on where public assigns blame in this manner: the numbers for Dems and numbers for Obama should be added and counted as “one”…% of blame ascribed to republicans vs (% of blaming for Obie + % of blame for Dems). Ahem…”new” math- if the progs can legitimize new math, then so can I

Remember, most of the groups who create the polls are media-based; i.e. left-leaning. Therefore, the Pool of People for their Polls (what we used to call the PPPs) are going to skew the results about 20 – 30% to the left. Add that “published” figure to those who always want to be on the side of the “winners” and polling really does affect the way people vote or act. Sad, but true. People lie about their true feelings just to be part of what they envision as the “acceptable” group.

McConnell, McCain, these more aged GOPs who don’t listen to their constituents don’t care because they are ready to retire. They’ve led a fat life off politics, got a wealthy pension coming, they don’t care any more. They are a special subset of the sage group, in that they are not, but only grifters where politics comes first.

  10. How this guy doesn’t qualify for an Obama subsidy is puzzling, if he doesn’t I don’t know who will. He has a part time job at a day care center. He is the plans demographic. Something is off with this guys story IMO.

To what extent do you think the nation-wide ‘glitches’ when people attempt to sign up is a deliberate SNAFU designed to…umm, what? I live in a family of computer geeks and they have often been tasked with rolling out new programs before they’re quite ready, due to pressure to have *something* up and running. But this level of beta boo-boos makes it a kind of meta-beta.

Any thoughts on this? Is the unavailability supposed to make BHOCare more attractive – i.e., the candy just out of reach? Personally, I am lying low until they come for the deed to the house.

Thursday back in South Florida, a day after limits for the National Institutes of Health made headlines, it was the fear of food drying up and a prohibition on fishing in waters of Florida Bay that took center stage.

Charter guides received a message from the National Park Service this week informing them that they are not permitted to take clients fishing in Florida Bay until the feds get back to work. That means that more than 1,100 square miles of prime fishing is off limits between the southern tip of the mainland to the Keys until further notice.

The closing affects not only fishing guides, but anyone with a license to conduct business in the park, including tour operators and paddling guides — anyone with a Commercial Use Authorization permit, said Dan Kimball, superintendent of Everglades and Dry Tortugas national parks.

Biscayne National Park is also off limits. Enforcement rangers will be on duty, Kimball said.

It appears people are beginning to fight back based on one of the comments on that article. Here it is:

We are planning a gathering this weekend in Lexington and Concord at the national park that the administration has shut to score political points. Please help us to get the word out.

Where: Minute Man National Historic Park

When: Sunday October 6th at noon

Why: they have closed this heritage site to the public because of the government shutdown…..we will see about that!

      Please get the word out!

      Sincerely,

      Paul Revere

I was sitting out on my deck listening to the waterfall and the crickets and I realized I had no one to talk to about the things that made my anger boil. I am exhausted and depressed after a week of driving special needs students on a school bus and driving to therapy and doctors for my husband. I had to see my rheumatologist because the antibiotic Protocol I was trying to do was not working due to stress and eating like crap because I am running on empty, and I have to go on medicine that was designed for cancer. My steroid level is increased from 5 mg to 20 mg and it makes me feel I am on a caffeine high combined with the munchies of pot. Anyone else on that? Although my husband agrees with me on most things, he does not want to talk about it now. This site is a God Send to me and I just want to say thank you to all of you. Even though I don’t have “conversations” with you all, I feel I am in a community with like minded people and it helps a lot.

But this is a “community” in every definition. Thank you all.

Such a cowboy metaphor! I do really appreciate what we have. The waterfall may impress some people, but it is really just a fall of water from the sheep field into a lower field. Not impressive at all but it sounds nice. One foot in front of another, Doodahdaze, it is just the size of the the step that is in question.

Consider….. the real risk to you, and everyone else, is giving up, conceding, or that feeling of being overwhelmed. Evil needs *fear*.

      Don’t give them that.

      EVER.

In order for their entire ruse to succeed, at the very core, the guise needs ownership of one thing – YOUR BELIEF !

So long as you hold true to your values, ethics and sense of self, they lose.

They only win when you give them that.

If you retain it – They Lose.
