We said it four months ago, and we’ll say it again:  Virginia’s Got A Problem They Won’t Admit To… and it’s getting worse.

The same Police Chief who was passionate about Hannah Graham’s murder has another homicide on his hands in the same area of Charlottesville. This time a woman and her teenage daughter were beaten to death by the suspect, their house then set on fire.
everette washington and mani aldridgeCHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The elementary school teacher and her teenage daughter murdered in their Charlottesville home Friday night were not random crime victims, Charlottesville Police Chief Tim Longo said during a Tuesday morning news conference.
Murder suspect Gene Everett Washington, 30, and victim Mani Aldridge, 17, knew each other prior to Friday’s crime. Chief Longo would not go into detail about the relationship between Washington and the Charlottesville High School junior.
Police arrested Washington Monday evening and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder. Mani and her mother, 58-year-old Robin Aldridge, were brutally beaten to death inside their Rugby Ave. home Friday, Longo said. (read more)

delvin barnesCHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. — Prosecutors in Charles City County have opted to set aside, or in legal terms nolle prosse, charges against the man accused of abducting a teen off the streets of Richmond.
CBS 6 confirmed that the commonwealth attorney’s has nolle prossed the case against Delvin Barnes on Wednesday.
Barnes was charged with abduction, forcible rape, malicious wounding with a chemical and other charges related to the early October disappearance of a 16-year-old girl from Richmond, according to investigators. That girl managed to escape after two days, walking two miles, naked and burned, into a business to seek help.
However, officials pointed out that those charges could be reinstated in the future. (read more)
