More Than A “Smidgen” – Congress Votes To Recommend Criminal Prosecution of IRS Head Lois Lerner – As Details Surface That Lerner Was Seeking Position In Obama’s Organizing For America (OFA)

Congress votes to send details of the corruption and scandal to the DOJ for criminal prosecution.   President Obama previously pledged to “hold anyone accountable” for their participation in the political targeting of people by the IRS.    However, President Obama has recently stated “there was not a smidgen of corruption in the IRS”.   Todays recommendation comes as information surfaces that Lerner was trying to get a position in OFA…..

lois lerner 2(WASHINGTON DC)  The House Ways and Means Committee has voted to 23-14 along party lines to refer former head of tax exempt groups at the IRS Lois Lerner to the Justice Department for prosecution. Although the details about exactly what charges will be have not yet been released, lawmakers are arguing Lerner has not been truthful with Congress or the IRS inspector general and leaked confidential tax information.

Last time a referral like this happened, it was to Major League Baseball player Roger Clemens, who was pursued by the Department of Justice for lying to Congress but was exonerated in court.

This is a test for the Department of Justice and the Obama administration. What’s more important? Baseball and steroids? Or the most powerful federal agency abusing its power to target innocent conservative groups?

Last summer President Obama called the targeting “outrageous” and promised to hold people responsible and accountable for what happened.  (read more)

Ex-IRS official Lois Lerner talked about taking a job with President Barack Obama’s nonprofit advocacy group Organizing for Action (OFA) while she had official oversight at the IRS over nonprofit tax-exempt groups.

The revelation was made Wednesday in the House Ways and Means Committee’s referral letter to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to prosecute Lerner on criminal charges. Ways and Means voted to refer Lerner to DOJ.  (link)

The current DOJ cares nothing about appearances let alone the law. They will care nothing about this test. This woman knew then, as she knows now, that she will not be punished. I’m confident in my belief that she has been assured of this from Teh Won and his lap dogs.

LOL… yeah Ol’ Barky and Holder’s Choom Gang are going to get right on that case. LOL The GOP folks in Congress are either a bunch of spineless, gutless, impotent cowards or complicit. Take your pick.

It’s a shame we don’t have a Justice Department in this country.

If nothing that has happened yet proves to you that the Republicans are nothing but worthless POS communist enablers, this should do it. The Republicans and Democrats are practically one in the same these days. Time for a new opposition party.

  4. There is no way Holder will prosecute Lerner – she’s one of them. I assume the corruption charges are something different from the contempt of Congress charge. That would be handled by the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia who, again, will more than likely fail to accept charges or prosecute Lerner. Again, she’s in the club.

We know the DOJ will do nothing about this — what we need is a special prosecutor!

Dept of Jackasses have no time to investigate or prosecute anything related to federal corruption because they are still looking into the Zimmerman case don’t cha know.

That, and the fact that all Obama’s idiots, including himself, all have dirt on each other’s agencies. As soon as the first prosecution happens, I’m not holding my breath for that, the inter-departmental finger pointing will begin.

How are this many people untouchable? rhetorical. In Whitewater, the only people who didn’t end up dead or in jail were Bill and Hillary. With Barry-O and his ilk, everybody gets away with everything.

If Lerner was feeding Cummings info about True The Vote, no wonder he’s fighting so passionately to shut down the “Witch Hunt”. He’s one of the “witches” and he doesn’t want to get burned by exposure.

The Watergate scandal also resulted in the indictment, trial, conviction, and incarceration of 43 people, dozens of whom were Nixon’s top administration officials. There are many in the current administration who have done far worse than those guys.

    Let the trials begin.
