Thursday Open Thread – February 7th

Tomb of the Unknown ChristmasOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Where to start, where to start…

OK, China has announced it’s building a rail-based ICBM system that will have nuke-armed MIRV-capable missiles on rail cars that will roam the country and hide in caves. The rail mode missiles are reminiscent of the old Soviet SS-24 and, old enough to remember this: the ill-fated USMGM-134 Midgetman missile. While Russia developed the SS-24 to the silence of US ‘peace’ activists the US was prevented from deploying the Midgetman. I’ve watched the Chinese make tremendous leaps in military technology over the last almost twenty years, much of it stolen. There was a goodly amount given to them, especially under the Clinton administration, things like sending US contractors over to make their ICBMs more reliable and accurate and giving them the technology to make MIRV systems to nuke us with. Then there was the ALLEGED leak(s) that gave them the ability to ALLEGEDLY duplicate our latest nuke warheads. The government has given the Chinese so much dual-use technology when they launch US-designed, multiple nuclear warheads on US MIRV systems, at us on missiles US contractors perfected and guided by a Chinese-launched US-technology GPS satellite system…well, let’s just say at least we won’t be reduced to glowing ash by foreign technology.
Look for info releases soon on the Chinese deploying a road-based ICBM system much as the Russian SS-25 that gave us cold sweats. Technologies aren’t that much different between rail and road-based and if the TELs have off-road capabilities that makes it that much harder to keep tracks on. Of course they could possibly launch a missiles at the US from their planned fleet of SLBM subs or strategic bomber on the drawing board. Meanwhile the POtuS traitor-in-chief still holds an ax over the F-35 and we’re hearing that if the planned new US strategic bomber can’t be built for a set cost it too will be axed. Gotta feed, clothe, house and medicate them new im’grants who be the future of the Democratic Party. Teach your grandkids to speak Chinese.

    • Sharon says:

      This from her article:

In 2006, actor Michael J. Fox appeared in an ad supporting Claire MacCaskill for the U.S. Senate. Fox, who has Parkinson’s disease, created a sympathetic portrait as he accused her opponent, incumbent Republican Sen. Jim Talent of not supporting stem cell research and wanted it criminalized which was a blatant falsehood. He made no distinction between embryonic and adult stem research, neither of which is banned. It was so easy to portray Sen. Talent as a mean-spirited person who would deny poor Mr. Fox, a potential cure for his illness.

Ironically, Mr. Fox has changed his mind about stem cells and is looking into other resources for a cure that does not involve fetal or embryonic cells which have both caused dangerous and irreparable side effects. The mainstream media will never report the truth of the stem cell research data because it conflicts with the liberal support of abortion rights.

Mr. Fox also acknowledged at some point after his appearance at a Congressional hearing at which his Parkinson’s symptoms were very noticeable (uncomfortably so, with much jerking and physical struggle as he testified), that he had deliberately not taken his medication that day so that the symptoms would be more noticeable.

  5. Sharon says:

Through the hours tonight I rewatched Masada with Peter O’Toole. Sort of feel like I’m in the middle of a short semester and have to study fast. Israel as a nation and many Jews as individuals have internalized so many lessons that we’ve never any reason to bother familiarizing ourselves with.

Masada (a romanization of the Hebrew מצדה, Mitzada, from מצודה, metzuda, “fortress”) is the name for a site of ancient palaces and fortifications in the South District of Israel on top of an isolated rock plateau on the eastern edge of the Judean Desert overlooking the Dead Sea. Masada became famous for its significance in the First Jewish-Roman War (Great Jewish Revolt), when a siege of the fortress by troops of the Roman Empire allegedly led to a mass suicide of the site’s Jewish Sicarii or Zealot defenders when defeat became imminent.

Masada came to symbolize courage, patriotism, and self-defense for Jews. Its story has helped to counter the sentiment that Jews were always victims, always subject to other peoples’ action, and never actors in their own right. In this view, the defenders of Masada resisted and died bravely, whether by their own hand or at the hands of others. Modern Israeli soldiers have often made vows to defend the State of Israel standing atop the fortress. The Masada story also helped to inspire the Warsaw Uprising during World War II, one of the first modern instances when Jews put aside their traditional submissive posture to take up heroic though futile resistance against an overwhelming oppressor.

Apparently the site is still used by new members of IDF for swearing-in ceremonies.

      Especially their Airborne

      • Sharon says:

I wondered about that–did some net search to try to know for sure if all IDF were sworne in there or just particular ones. This DVD set is that mini-series, Cranky. It’s probably not 100% accurate, but what I was thinking about as I watched it again (all 383 minutes of it–) was the portrayal of their thinking–how to know when it’s time to die for what you’ve been fighting for….that is something to think about.

        • czarowniczy says:

Not sure, I was just told by an IDF airborne that they trotted up the trail to take the oath at daybreak. In any event it’s a great idea, might want to have US soldiers take their oaths on one of the Civil War battlefields around DC before they are all paved over into parking lots and strip malls. As Patton said: “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.”

          • Sharon says:

My favorite Patton comment. I do believe Skeeter obama would have been slapped up side the head by that man.

I had the privilege to serve in Third Army when they made it the Army portion of Centcom. I do believe George S would have had Him washing and drying Big Red’s nether parts.’Bout all He’s good fer.

    • CrankyinAZ says:

If you remember the TV mini-series “Masada” (from the 80s) they showed some of the Israeli cadets being sworn in at Masada at the beginning of the show… It was actually quite moving. The TV mini-series – though I’m sure not 100% accurate – was pretty good. I liked it – think I might still have it on video-tape somewhere! LOL

“DH: Okay, we can get on with it, then.

RB: First of all, two days after the inauguration, at exactly 7:00 a.m. on January 23, something called “the Cyber-Warriors for Obama Project” was activated. I heard about this the week after the election, but only saw a hardcopy draft in late December. From what I was told, I believe this is a project that is being paid for through funds from Obama’s political corporation, the 501(c)4 Organizing for Obama, I believe it’s called. I can’t be sure, but that’s what I was told.

At that time, I was shown a white, three-ring binder with Obama’s circular campaign logo imprinted on the outside of the binder with the name “Cyber-Warriors for Obama” printed in blue across the top. Inside were the names and e-mail addresses of 3,575 “cyber assets,” or “warriors,” listed in alphabetical order under about a dozen or so “team leaders.” From a separate sheet I was shown, most of these “assets” are being paid just over minimum wage, but as I understand it, they work from home and have no overhead. I believe there are about two dozen supervisors who make substantially more.

There was a link to the original article from CFP on yesterdays OT on this. While I for one, usually take their articles with a grain of salt, they have been found to be rather accurate in hindsight. It ain’t gonna be pretty. The one thing our gubmint hasn’t accounted for is the pushback from ordinary citizens. They may begin to go door-to-door and get “your mind right”. but they’re going to have to shut down the internet before they do, otherwise things will quickly out of hand as we peons fight back. I have no doubt if this goes forward there will be blood in the streets.

Anyone see anything on the MSM about Ahmanutjob’s admission to the Egyptian press that “We’re already an industrial and nuclear country…?” Granted I can’t spend all of my time watching networks and CNN but considering the number of times I’ve heard them say today that the POtuS is working his most hardest to drag teh Iranians to the table over their nuke program I’d guess that having the Iranian POtuS tell the press they have nukes just might be worthy of a clip or two.

Has anyone read the manifesto of the ex-cop who is on a killing spree? From what I can grasp he’s killing everyone because in his view he was wrongly fired based mostly on racism and he wants an AWB.
Those he admires are pretty telling, all of the libs on CNN especially Piers Morgan and all the folks on MSNBC. He also loves Obama, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary and Bill Clinton and believes Chelsea turned into a beautiful woman, Diane Feinstein, Chris Christie and George HW Bush.
He hates Wayne LaPierre and George Zimmerman and wishes Trayvon Martin had crushed him.
If it wasn’t for the fact that I’d pass out, I’d hold my breath waiting for the media to link him to his liberal idols.

    • Patriot Dreamer says:

You mean ANOTHER “Progressive”/Democrat went on a killing spree? /sarc

      • czarowniczy says:

More like an ex-cop, in California, with an ‘assault rifle’. Where did he buy the rifle? If he got it to use in his job the PD should have taken it as the raw AR-15 (let’s hope it ain’t an M-16/M-4, that would compound the screwup) cannot be sold in CA. He was let go for lying – that may or may not have been valid, but he’s also complaining about ‘crooked’ cops – geezz, look at cities like Chicago, New Orleans, NYC – who’d think cops could be crooked? Oh yeah, serve and protect – why would any citizen feel uncomfortable and want to own a personal firearm? We still have two ex NOPD officers arguing why they should not be on death row for duty-related coldblooded murders they committed.

        • cajunkelly says:

Oh he also went on a rant about the fact that AR15s have select fire. He claims soldiers *seldom* use the select fire feature on M4/M16s so essentially the AR is the same as the M4/M16s.
He claims he obtained his assault rifles by setting up a trust and a p.o. box. He didn’t say where he did this. Maybe while in P’cola? But the trust and p.o. box makes no sense.

Of course, much of what he says makes no sense.

At the end of the day, he’s the strongest argument yet that the mentally ill/clinically depressed shouldn’t be walking the streets where they can buy guns, legally or illegally.

          • czarowniczy says:

At the end of the day he’s the perfect example of one of my earlier posts that the police are no better or worse than the population they were hired from. One of my partners many years ago smoked dope in the car (out west) and another I worked some details with a few years back is on death row for three coldblooded execution-style murders – one of whom was her partner. A detective friend of mine was on the Miami PD some years back when some of their own were killing drug dealers, dumping their bodies and stealing their cash/drugs. Can’t trust anyone 100%.

        • cajunkelly says:

Oh, I think he was let go for much more than lying. He had an “n word chip” on his shoulder bigger than Texas, beginning in grade school. He attacked and choked a fellow officer who he claims uttered that word.

He intimated that officers, since 2002, must undergo psycological testing and take lie detector tests before hire. How the HELL did he pass that?

What is the “consent decree” that he keeps mentioning and says should never have been repealed?

          • czarowniczy says:

Polys are not fool proof, that’s 100% sure. A few decades back the CIA and MI5 had a load of Central/South American ops flushed as the actors were shot through with Cuban agents – they’d been trained to avoid the poly. A few decades back when my dope smoking partner and I, among others, were called in to be polyed we all passed when asked if we smoked or knew of anyone who smoked dope on the job in the unit. They ain’t foolproof which is why some agencies use multiple systems in tandem. As for him getting fired I’m betting it was just the last straw – you get a few breaks as they spend lotsa time and $$$ spinning you up and you have to pile up a lot of little stuff before they throw in your towel.

    • cajunkelly says:

Some ain’t gonna like this part:
“Blacks must strive for more in life than bling, hoes, and cars. The current culture is an epidemic that leaves them with no discernible future. They’re suffocating and don’t even know it. MLK Jr. Would be mortified at what he worked so hard for in our acceptance as equal beings and how unfortunately we stopped progressing and began digressing. Chicago’s youth violence is a prime example of how our black communities values have declined. We can not address this nation’s intolerant issues until we address our own communities morality issues first. Accountability”….the manifesto ends there on that link…it’s not complete.

I gotta admit, when I started reading about all his weapons and how he so easily acquired them (by fraud) I started thinking…black ops.

When all is said and done….he’s a professional victim of the BGI. His diatribe is just too perfectly inclusive. Look how he wants his brain studied for depression and “two concussions” from football.

It’s a librul fantasy wish list.
