Tuesday Open Thread – November 20th

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Sure. And Keynes acolytes are still burrowed deeply in the halls of influence of most governments.

  3. ytz4mee says:

Praying for Israel today – time to revisit history. This isn’t the first time that Islamists have collaborated with anyone who will help them annihilate all Jews.

    • doodahdaze says:

Uh-oh. Hildabeast is headed to Israel. Maybe she can save the terrorists.

      • lovemygirl says:

Maybe a house will drop on her.

        • doodahdaze says:

She will work the Obama end of the ceasefire deal with the terrorists. Israel is in a pickle. Iran has them surrounded. Now, with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt Israel is in a box. Obama will not allow the Iranian Nuke Program to stop. Seems like he wants Iran to get the bomb for some reason. Saving Hamas is his priority.

        • canadacan says:

That’s my Thanksgiving prayer quit trying to cheer me up. I want Israel To invade Gaza.. unfortunately that won’t be a scorched earth policy the Israelis are far too to humanitarian.

          • canadacan says:

I was referring to the house dropping on Hilda beast

          • doodahdaze says:

They won’t. Obama has too much leverage. I saw that Obama is blackmailing them with F-16 spare parts now. They are sending in Hillery to put the pressure on and make a deal with the Muslim Brotherhood. I don’t know if Israel can make it if we do not give them supplies. That leaves them with only one out. Nukes.

    • Sharon says:

      From the blog:

11:30 P.M. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with a number of foreign leaders over the weekend, telling them he would be prepared for an immediate, comprehensive ceasefire with Hamas if the latter agrees to halt all rocket fire from Gaza. The leaders asked Netanyahu to refrain from escalating the operation and to give Egyptian attempts to mediate a ceasefire a few days to play out. Netanyahu’s office refused to comment. (Barak Ravid)

I had heard some of that earlier somewhere–and just on the surface of it–it drives me crazy when Israeli leaders seem to feel compelled to agree to negotiating; they seem to accept public pressure being put on them to “not screw up the peace offers” which always seem to arrive just as things are getting hot for Israel’s enemies.

The terrorists are just like the arsonist obama: they start the fire and then when they start getting burned, they scream at the burning house to “STOP IT!” and their friends join in on the accusations against the burning house intending to make it feel guilty for causing trouble for the arsonist. It’s just beyond crazy-making.

      • doodahdaze says:

It all fits in Obamas Grand Plan. Israel is stuck in a box now. They do not have American support. They are on their own. The only thing saving them is their Nukes.

      • I have a hunch Israel is in this one for the BIG PICTURE. Their media deconstruction and counter propaganda is EXCEPTIONAL this time – Really, the best they have ever done…. It shows.

Despite the CNN and PLO/Hamas loving propaganda media efforts – the IDF is getting the TRUTH out front and peeps like Alan Dershowitz are taking a more active role in being aggressive this time…. the PLO lovers are on their heels and Israel ain’t backing down.

        Damn Skippy. Good.

The shot into the mainstream Media Center being used by Hamas for a secret meeting was a warning to the Pravda-types that they better watch their affiliations. Recently the Hamas leader was in a car printed with TV on the hood sneaking around – they blew his eyeballs out.

This is the approach Israel needs to keep. Make it more brutal, make the counter punches more devastating – crush the vermin with extreme predjudice and don’t relent.

My spidey senses tell me Israel knows how important this one is. They know they are surrounded – they ain’t pulling no punches this time.

        • doodahdaze says:

I hope so. it is their only chance to survive in the long game. Hillery is heading there now to apply the pressure.

        • doodahdaze says:

Bibi has caved. Attack on hold.

          • Cyrano says:

What kind of yahu is Bibbi anyway? He should agree to a ceasefire agreement under the following conditions: SOS Clinton, Egyptian leader Mursi, and A Gaza representative, must all meet with him, Bibbi in an open field five miles north of the Israeli-Gaza border to sign the agreement.

            • stellap says:

Don’t think that’s true. Read later thread about Hillary and Bibi. Bibi told her no.

            • doodahdaze says:

Hitlery and Obama have slithered in. They are now openly negotiating with, and recognizing terrorists as legit. moral relevance at it’s finest hour. Another first for the Obama Administration. Bibi should tell them to buzz off and drive to the sea along the southern border of Gaza. Thus cutting off the Muslim Brotherhood forces. There are no civilians in Gaza. They elected a terrorist government and must pay the price. Once Morsi is cut off from his spawn the Israelis can pick them off at will.

  4. doodahdaze says:

Somehow not raising taxes is now a tax cut. When keeping tax rates the same is a tax cut we are in trouble. Raising spending is now a spending cut. Even if they go over the so called fiscal cliff spending increases. How do they get away with it? I guess people really are that stupid. I just wonder how long they can keep it up.

    • Sharon says:

They get away with it because it’s all ok with Congress….which is still not working on a budget–are they?

      • ytz4mee says:

If there’s a budget they actually have to define and account for spending. This way, with CR’s, the printing press can continue to whirl away, massive projects can be funded without the knowledge or oversight of congress, and the czars can go about their business unchecked.

        • Sharon says:

…and in ever increasing amounts, not subject to scrutiny as you point out, as they sustain current services. In broad daylight.

This dictatorship consists in the manner of applying democracy, not in its elimination, but in energetic, resolute attacks upon the well-entrenched rights and economic
relationships of bourgeois society, without which a socialist transformation cannot be accomplished. This dictatorship must be the work of the class, and not of a little leading minority in the name of the class — that is, it must proceed step by step out of the active participation of the masses; it must be under their direct influence, subjected to the control of complete public activity; it must arise out of the growing political training of the mass of the people. — The Russian Revolution

I don’t know what they are doing. I doubt they do either. But none are being honest. We have 51% of the voting population happy to put them back in power. More if the non-voters are included. I just do not see how this is not going to end up in a complete catastrophe. Some problems have no solution. Maybe this is the case here?

        • Sharon says:

That seems to be the case, doesn’t it. The tempo at which disintegration will occur is unknown, but I have seen nothing in the last several weeks to suggest that there is any reason to take assured “complete catastrophe” off the table.

There are solutions, of course–but our current persons in authority are not interested in solutions. They are interested only in occupying an important chair when the music stops.

          • doodahdaze says:

To understand Obama one should study him. This might be a good place to start.

            • doodahdaze says:

As you can see, this is why they despise small business. The huge international corporations will be easier to subvert and take over. The regulations are designed to eliminate the smaller businesses through attrition. They will not be able to comply. Obamacare was a giant step in this direction.

          • michellc says:

I upset a dear friend yesterday with basically saying the same thing. She was talking about getting back in the saddle, gearing up for 2014 and 2016. I told her I don’t want anymore false hope. I had that false hope for 2010 and we had gains and won the house but nothing really changed, we have investigations with nobody being held accountable for their crimes. I had false hope that Americans would send Obama packing in 2012.
I told her look how quick there were so many of them willing to compromise their principles, if they have any. Would it really be any different even if they have control of the senate as well as the house after 2014? Would they stop Obama or would it continue being we’re investigating, would it be more excuses and instead of we don’t have a majority in the Senate, we don’t have enough votes to override a veto? All the time handing over their power to stop the WH?
What will be left by 2016?

She sees my attitude as a quitter attitude, I see it as being a realist. I’d rather prepare for the worst at this point and hope that I’m wrong. The truth is I’m tired of blaming myself that I didn’t do enough. I realize now no matter how hard I work, it does me no good if the people we send to Washington fail us.
I told her, maybe being a fighter is facing reality and preparing to fight for survival. We all said this was the most important election in our lifetime and I think most of us believed that and it wasn’t empty words.
It’s kind of like that old song, I fought the law and the law won. We fought big government and big government won. The outcome is very probable to be “complete catastrophe” and to not face that may be the reality is burying our head in the sand imo. Sometimes I think people have to hit rock bottom before they’re willing to change and I kind of think that is where our country is now. We have to hit rock bottom and realize what the country has lost before we can even begin to rebuild it.

            • Sharon says:

Refusing to continue playing the game that your opponent has rigged so as to guarantee your defeat and suck the life out of you and everything you possess is not being a quitter. I wonder if your friend would call John Galt a quitter, after actually reading the book, page by page. Choosing to oppose those who have designed your death requires far more courage than playing along with them.

Playing by the rules of the authorities sometimes aids and abets them in national destruction and murders by the millions. Ask the Germans who played by the rules, and kept hoping for a better outcome.

There is solid reason for the fact that the Bonhoeffer family who were intellectuals and professionals within pre-war Germany, became personally involved in resistance against Hitler by the mid-1930s with Dietrich becoming a counterspy in the Abwehr. At the public funeral service held for Dietrich Bonhoeffer in England on July 27, 1945 about 3 months after his death by hanging in a German prison, Bishop Bell included this in his remarks:

(Dietrich saw) the growing dilemma of German Christians in their isolation; as in the Samson Story one man’s hand threatens to bring down the whole house; and there is, but for the very rarest exceptions, no understanding voice and no helping hand from without. Political action becomes inevitable. “Why,” Dietrich said on his last visit here, “should it always have to be the bad people who make the revolutions?

    I saw this article today:

Pam Broadwell and Jill Kelly were allegedly poised to have a real Cat Fight. While I am the type of guy who would find it very amusing to watch those two go at it in a no holds barred, skirt lifting, blouse ripping Cat Fight, preferably in oil, I suspect that this is all a ruse. What women with a background in military intelligence and a current security clearance would send thousands of emails to a perceived rival. As someone noted on these pages, Gen Petreaus is an old man who couldn’t get laid in brothel with a fistful of fifties. This is all an act by Obama’s Brownbra Brigade to discredit Gen Pwtreus and Gen Allen to neutralize them as political threats.

Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., told CNN on Tuesday that some Republican claims that Rice is “incompetent” may be racial in nature.

“These are code words,” Clyburn said, adding that “these kinds of terms that those of us — especially those of us who were born and raised in the South — we’ve been hearing these little words and phrases all of our lives and we get insulted by them.”

So now a person of color can be totally ignorant and non productive in a job, and nothing can be done for fear the race card will fly?

This is insidious insulation against *any* criticism of “people of color”. And it’s working.

My response; No, clyburn, it’s not racist to call a spade….a spade. To call it a club would be incompetent.

It’s not a code word to say you’re ignorant, hateful and vile.

Obama Administration To Immigrants: Come To America For Our Free Stuff

In yet another step to create an ever-expanding culture of dependency, the Obama administration’s “WelcomeToUSA.gov” is actually encouraging new immigrants to the United States to apply for welfare benefits.

    Here’s the opening paragraph:

Depending on your immigration status, length of time in the United States, and income, you may be eligible for some federal benefit programs. Government assistance programs can be critically important to the well-being of some immigrants and their families. Frequently, however, there is a lack of information about how to access such benefits. Benefit programs can be complicated and you may be given misleading information about how they operate.

The page also contains a list of links where new immigrants can find instructions about how to apply for programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Food Stamps, Supplemental Security Income and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families

In other words, our tax dollars are being used to build and maintain a website that teaches immigrants how to come into our country and sponge off federal welfare programs paid for by our tax dollars.

    Welcome to Obamamerica.
