For recent new readers, here’s the how and why that the Mailboxes and Old Barns weekly post got started over three years ago:
Mailboxes along the roads and old barns set back in fields overgrown with weeds often served as landmarks that told us where we were and how far we had to go in the high dry prairie country of northeastern Montana where I grew up. Sometimes the mailboxes signaled “home” and the end of the road; at other times, barely visible through swirling snow, an old barn told us we had miles to go. When I started compiling word pictures of those times a few years back, I realized they were like those mailboxes and old barns–still identifying important places along the road, still signaling where I am and how far I have to go.
Today’s MBOB is a wandering-around-the-Treehouse-trails-visit – coming as it does on the heels of a two month hiatus for me.

I could actually make a solid argument that Mitch McConnell is actually a BIGGER danger because at least with Obama you know in advance what he supports, McConnell tries to hide it to retain his power.
McConnell and the CoC fully support:

♦  Comprehensive immigration reform to include amnesty.
♦  Common Core federal educational standards.
♦  ObamaCare – Or The federal delivery of uniform mandated healthcare to all citizens.

Mitch McConnell is the personification of what will lead to a third party.   If McConnell wins his primary next month you will see a radical shift in political discussion from me.

The radical, fanatical and  far-left gay movement is a group that represents far less than 2-3% of the entire U.S. population who self identify as gay.   Yet they sure demand a lot of attention from an overrepresentation in the media. 

PORTLAND — A new Westmoreland grocery isn’t even open yet and already its owner has created a controversy with statements she made online. But the owner told KGW Thursday she wants to make amends.
In about one week Chauncy Childs plans to open her natural grocer on Southeast Milwaukie Avenue. But after a series of postings she made on her Facebook page, she now finds herself at the often dangerous intersection where social media and gay rights meet.
The Moreland Farmer’s Pantry will offer fresh produce, raw milk and foods that are free of genetic engineering.
Westmoreland resident Sean O’Riordan was looking forward to the store opening. But his neighbors started expressing concern to him.

The odds are so astronomical that China could just “happen upon” the exact location of the missing airliner’s black boxes…..  such that, something else would be ab-so-lute-ly at play if this report turns out to be accurate. 

PERTH, Australia (AP) – A Chinese ship involved in the hunt for the missing Malaysian jetliner reported hearing a “pulse signal” Saturday in southern Indian Ocean waters with the same frequency emitted by the plane’s data recorders, as Malaysia vowed not to give up the search for the jet.
The Australian government agency coordinating the search for the missing plane said early Sunday that the electronic pulse signals reportedly detected by the Chinese ship are consistent with those of an aircraft black box. But retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, the head of the search coordination agency, said they “cannot verify any connection” at this stage between the electronic signals and the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
Military and civilian planes, ships with deep-sea searching equipment and a British nuclear submarine scoured a remote patch of the southern Indian Ocean off Australia’s west coast, in an increasingly urgent hunt for debris and the “black box” recorders that hold vital information about Malaysia Airlines Flight 370’s last hours. (FOX Kansas City)  Two teens are being held in juvenile detention after a hearing took place Friday morning, stemming from charges of rape and sodomy which were filed against them.

A 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl have been charged with one count of rape and one count of sodomy. Those charges were filed against them on Wednesday April 2 by the Juvenile Officer of Jackson County, after allegations they were involved in the rape of a fellow classmate.
A 14-year-old autistic girl said she was raped on multiple occasions in the past month at Southwest Early College Campus. The girl was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday after telling her parents that she was experiencing pain in her vagina and had been raped at school. (more…)

DETROIT, MI – Detroit police have arrested two suspects in the ongoing investigation of the beating of a man who stopped his truck after accidentally hitting a 10-year-old boy on the city’s east side Wednesday afternoon.
[…] Police Sgt. Michael Woody confirmed Saturday that a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old have been arrested in connection with the incident. He offered few details on the suspects or how police were led to their arrest, and said police are still in the early stages of the investigation.

(Washington Free Beacon) The communications giant Comcast announced in February that it would buy Time Warner Cable for $45 billion, creating the largest cable provider in America, with more than 33 million customers. That is about one third of the U.S. cable and satellite television market. FCC approval is required for the merger to go into effect.
Critics of the deal say it would lessen competition and lead to even shoddier customer service. They are probably right, as all of us will soon find out, because there is little chance the merger will be stopped. Comcast, Time Warner, and their political fixers have spent years preparing for this moment—by buying off the Democratic Party.

Anders Helstrup, who belongs to the Oslo Parachute Club said “I got the feeling that there was something, but I didn’t register what was happening”. “When we stopped the film, we could clearly see something that looked like a stone.
