This is a follow up to this story:
NEW ORLEANS — A Louisiana trooper died Monday after he was shot by an apparently stranded motorist who stood over the officer and told him afterward, “You’re lucky — you’re going to die soon.”
Senior Trooper Steven Vincent, 43, died at a hospital in Lake Charles after being shot in the head over the weekend by a man whose pickup truck was stuck sideways in a ditch, Col. Mike Edmonson said.
“This loss exacts an enormous emotional toll on the state police family, but we will do what is necessary and proper to honor Steve and support those who knew and loved him,” Edmonson said in a statement Monday morning. (more…)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †
GOP Candidate Donald Trump has three distinct audiences for his message: The 1.) The Electorate; 2.) Wall Street, and 3.) The RNC machine.
One audience, the electorate, is a friend, the other two are potential foes.
Each audience requires a strategic approach, and when you are listening to his openly visible campaign”messaging” don’t get confused on interpretation based on your place within the audience.
♦ Toward THE ELECTORATE – Trump is explaining why he is running, and what he intends to do to “Make America Great Again”. Unfortunately, in many cases he has to message through the prism of the media, so it’s best to listen directly to his words – rather than listen to the interpretation, by the media, of what those words mean.
♦ At the same time, Trump is also speaking to The RNC Machine writ large. Trump knows full well the RNC machine is not his friend. The RNC Machine wants Jeb Bush, their preferred candidate. In order to keep them in retreat, Trump needs to make their preference transparent – and he knows exactly how to draw them out and force them to do so. He’s quite masterful at exposing them; everyone (within the electorate audience) is witnessing that right now. (more…)
Excellent Op-ed in USA Today by Glenn Reynolds: “See something, do something” (excerpt) […] Stone was cut by the attacker behind his neck, and his thumb was nearly sliced off as the man was wrestled to the ground by the Americans. Sadler said: “The gunman pulls out a box cutter and slices Spencer a few times.” He added that the attacker “never said a word.”
To Americans who remember Sept. 11, 2001, this kind of response — even down to the “let’s go” — echoes the story of Todd Beamer and the passengers of Flight 93. It’s the right response, of course, to terrorists who threaten innocents.
As Brad Todd wrote days after 9/11, it was the response of ordinary Americans on this flight that meant a repeat of the attacks was much less likely: “Just 109 minutes after a new form of terrorism — the most deadly yet invented — came into use, it was rendered, if not obsolete, at least decidedly less effective. … United Flight 93 did not hit a building. It did not kill anyone on the ground. … Why? Because it had informed Americans on board who’d had 109 minutes to come up with a counteraction. And the next time a hijacker full of hate pulls the same stunt with a single knife, he’ll get the same treatment and meet the same result as those on United Flight 93. Dead, yes. Murderous, yes. But successful? No.” (read more)

There’s a narrative being pushed about Trump being willing to accept donations for his presidential campaign from big business interests. Within the interview (today) below you can hear his own words about that. Additionally Donald Trump speaks about taxes, hedge fund managers, and more.
I’ll expand some thoughts after the article and video:
(VIA CBS) Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says he would change the tax laws to force people who work at hedge funds to pay more in taxes, because “the hedge fund guys are getting away with murder.”
In an interview with Time Magazine published last week, Trump said he might want to “switch taxes around” because “I have hedge fund guys that are making a lot of money that aren’t paying anything.” He confirmed on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday that he would change the tax system to force those who work for hedge funds to pay more. Spencer Stone, Anthony Sadler and Alek Scarlatos speak to reporters for the first time after thwarting a terrorist attack:
2015 GOPestablishment Pro-Jeb Bush Republicans continue to make false claims about Donald Trump and his historical political affiliations. Here’s video of Donald at the RNC convention in 1988. Enjoy:
Watch video. Your thoughts?
This interview is interesting in that Judge Jeanine spends a little time on the “why” question; asking candidate Trump why he’s running for the GOP nomination. For many people this is still a key question and Trump’s answers therein reflect he really does feel compelled; in part because he believes in America and doesn’t see that same level of belief represented in the professional political class.
Donald Trump’s view that ‘We The People’ are being restrained from producing our best; the spirit of America wanting to deliver and strive, is well explained within the interview. Trump is very passionate about this aspect.
