Tonight candidate Donald Trump held a massive campaign rally in Canton Ohio.  Mr. Trump delivered a passionate ‘America-First’ speech directly to the voters in the mid-West and across America.  It was arguably one of the best campaign speeches to date.

We just got new polls from Bloomberg and CNN. We’re up five points in Ohio, and the LA Times poll has us up 5 points nationwide.

This election is about a choice between the control of an arrogant ruling class in Washington D.C. versus the hopes and dreams of everyday citizens.

Candidate Donald Trump is in Canton Ohio holding a rally at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.  In an effort to try and keep Trump out of Ohio, in addition to venue costs the city of Canton charged the Trump Campaign an additional $20,000 just for security.  Trump paid it. Today the Clinton campaign is releasing an updated doctor’s note as her campaign tries to get past the political problems caused by keeping her recent pneumonia diagnosis secret, and her collapse on September 11th.  The release comes amid calls for both Clinton and Donald Trump, two of the oldest presidential nominees in history, to reveal more about their personal health.  Here’s the letter:

At this point the transparency is, well, ridiculous…

Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson and running-mate Bill Weld have a proposal for the panel in charge of general election debates: Put a third podium on stage, let Johnson debate, and if his ticket doesn’t meet subsequent criteria for debates the Libertarian ticket won’t make a peep. Bloomberg released a poll today (full pdf below) that is markedly different from their traditional polling methodology.   The poll is a representative sample of 802 random Ohio ‘likely voters’ with no additional weighting, smoothing or adjustments by the pollster, it’s just raw voter data for the sample.  The result:

What makes this specific media poll interesting is that media polls rarely (can’t remember any) present raw unfiltered likely voter data without applying their own weights, and modifying the results to fit the pollsters’ assumptions of who will show up on election day.
This poll doesn’t weight anything or assume/project a specific turnout ratio. (more…)

There are two important ratios to remember 65/35 and 55/45.

Throughout the past year those who have followed political opinion will note the consistent and reoccurring appearance of these two sets of statistical ratios.

♦ First, a variant of the ratio “65/35” shows up in random series of obscure polling questions done by alternative or social media.  Three examples include two Bravo Network broadcasts asking for voter input, and another from data tech “Zip App“.
The Bravo Network were so stunned by the (65/35) results of their initial poll – they actually repeated it just to make sure.

… “the results of this poll even more surprising is that the demographics of Bravo viewers are far different than the average stereotype of Donald Trump supporter” (link)
