Earlier today the Huffington Post decided to take the progressive position to defend the NJ and New York power companies from well deserved ridicule. The Power Companies in both states have refused to allow non-union disaster recovery teams to rebuild power service to affected citizens in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The Huffington Post presented, once again, a series of falsehoods intended to deflect the truth: (Huffington Post) Out-of-state workers have been pouring into New Jersey to help with the recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy, but one Alabama-based utility crew claims that it returned home because of a requirement that all workers be union-affiliated. Labor officials, a New Jersey utility company and Gov. Chris Christie deny, however, that any such condition exists. (more…)
Hey New Jerseyites… How’s that Red-Tape thingy working out for you now?

Piers Morgan made it a point today to angrily point fingers at Con-Edison power company officials about the length of time it is taking to restore power. He went on quite a rant with his pal, Trenton-NJ Mayor, Corey Booker….. However, given power company emergency disaster recovery teams being turned away by New Jersey officials because they are “non union” workers I wonder how Piers and his boy-pal Booker will spin that one? Jackasses !
SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NEW JERSEY (WAFF) – The hurricane-ravaged east coast has been receiving north Alabama help, but crews from Huntsville Utilities learned they’ll be doing work in Long Island, New York instead of in New Jersey.
Crews from Huntsville, as well as Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can’t do any work there since they’re not union employees.
The crews that are in Roanoke, Virginia say they are just watching and waiting even though they originally received a call asking for help from Seaside Heights, New Jersey. (more…)
Mayor Slurpee McDonut does not want the visible admission that his city is looting central. (Daily Mail) Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz has begged for the National Guard to be called in and put a halt to an outbreak of looting after the superstorm.

SMASH AND GRAB: A woman appears to be making off with “kicks” at Mello Magic Sneakers on Rockaway Beach Boulevard yesterday. (New York Post)
‘New York Governor Cuomo also acted quickly by activating the National Guard prior to the storm, and I urge him to allocate as many troops as possible to Brooklyn—troops from New York or any other states that can spare them,’ Mr Markowitz said in a statement.’ (more…)

Progs and the media prog story sellers are looking for any opportunity to disparage Mitt Romney…. Hence they attack Romney for messaging and raising support for Sandy victims. Progs are hateful jerks.
(WaPo) Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern on Tuesday accused Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney of politicizing Hurricane Sandy with a Dayton event that was billed as storm relief but also had characteristics of a campaign rally.

Romney spoke only briefly at the event, to encourage donations to storm victims, and volunteers collected canned goods to send to those suffering in New Jersey. But Romney’s biographical video, routinely played at campaign rallies, was used to introduce the event, as was his routine rally music.
“I think Gov. Romney ought to be focused on things he could do and say on behalf of the victims, rather than going to Dayton Ohio — the most important swing state in the country — and taking advantage of a tragedy,” Redfern said. (more…)

Oh the wind is lashing lustily
And the trees are thrashing thrustily
And the leaves are rustling gustily
So it’s rather safe to say…
That it seems it may turn out to be
It feels that it will undoubtedly
It looks like a rather blustery day, today
It sounds that it may turn out to be
Feels that it will undoubtedly
Looks like a rather blustery day today
[Re-Elect Obama] Last night, the Obama campaign was sending email requests into Annapolis, Maryland, for help with phone-banking. The time? 5:30 pm, right when Sandy is supposed to be at its worst there. (more…)
